  1. Hello everyone.. I am having issues with a sound mod. Do you place them in your Z drive or do they go elsewhere. thanks. James
  2. Actaully it ended up being the "Supply Bunkers" you can change the bunkers to supply, so I deleted all the bunkers.. saved it.. and then added normal bunkers. The Scenerio works great now, just now play testing it. Not sure, but I think you can dismount trucks in the Units portion of the editor and I think this creates ammo supply as well, without the truck.. I will have to check on that. Thanks for your assistance Macisle. Semper Fi.
  3. So its not just the bunkers making the scenario crash? So delete barbed wire? I take it these issues will be fixed in the up coming game patch. thanks, Semper Fi.
  4. I am having the same issues with a scenario I created.. it loads and stops at 77% then crashes. I can play much larger scenerios then the one I created.. what did you do again to get it to work.. I have tried to change the .btt name etc.. nothing works.
  5. I would really like to see a new Naval game.. much like SSI Fighting Steel but with better graphics.. missions and Campaigns. Maybe even throw in campaigns.. and your own scenario-campaign editor as well. Great Naval Battles was great as well.
  6. This is exactly what I do as well. It took about 3 QB battles to learn this anoying AI tactic... but Vanir is right... I hardly suffer any casualties now from their barrages.
  7. list of some Soviet gun sights. Notice the T-34/85 had better optics then the T-34/76 http://www.armchairgeneral.com/rkkaww2/weapons/sign_tanks.htm Anyways I do not have any issues.. the game is great!
  8. So will this game be using a New Graphics Engine like in Red Thunder? Also I can hardly wait for this.. have been wanting to test a M1A2 vs T-90 and soviet Equipment. Also I am sure that NATO Forces would be involved as well.. Germany, France, UK, Hell maybe even the Italians... Turkey I believe is also a NATO member and would be watching the Ukraine area with much interest.
  9. I tend to avoid wooded area and repeatedly use direct fire and smoke to cover open spaces as I advance... if there is woods I need to enter to get to a mission objective I will prep the area the best I can with indirect fire.. and then like many have stated above use bounding technique slowly.. this however takes time...and you sometimes feel pressured because of the time allotted... so I try to plan how long it takes to get Indirect fire to places I will possibly need it... (looking at the layout of the map) Recon is your best friend.
  10. Ok cool to know Umlaut.. At least bridges are capable of being blown up... good to know. and thanks.
  11. I heard of this series in 2002... when my friend showed me a small review of it in a magazine article.. I then looked them up and downloaded the demo... and ever since then I began to collect every title. We had both been avid ASL fanatics. We also played Panzer Leader and Blitzkrieg.
  12. Since we are talking about bridges... Can we blow them up? I think I remember in CMBB you could target a bridge and blow it with a lot of HE rounds, or engineers with a couple demo charges.
  13. Well some units did suffer from an air attack.. the campaign is long (Germans) so I was not even sure who got killed as it was a large battle.. so not sure what units were actually affected...it is possible Even if the 2nd Company Mortar section HQ were a casualty... could I not essentially park another HQ unit with radio next to them to get a communications link set up... or is this impossible? What my next plan is to do is... run the mortar squad over to the one who has "Command Link".... hopefully they can at least share their mortar rounds with the team that has Command Link.
  14. Yeah I don't know whats up.. LOL. Oh well I am going to right this one off as strange things sometimes happens. I think part of the problem is that the 2nd Company does not have its heavy weapons HQ commander available.. so maybe this stops them from communicating with everyone else... In Combat Mission Normandy.. to get contact with some of the mortar crews I would take Track 250/1 with radio and park it near the Mortar Nest.. thereby their Mortar PLt HQ would have a radio to communicate with anyone on the battlefield and take Fire Missions.
  15. Should find them in the Pioneer section. it was an engineer (Pioneer) vehicle. Did you mean the 251/7 engineer vehicle.. or the 250/7 (mortar track) I have not looked yet (and you probably have).. but maybe they can be found in single vehicle, or formations? or possibly they can be found in the PzGren.. Aufklärungsabteilung. you may have to pick and choose from Battalion level? not sure I have been too busy playing the campaigns and QB's
  16. Yeah copy that.. looked in the manual.. no problem.. Never had this problem with CM Normandy.. Anyways... I made sure that there is nothing blocking the LOS or LOF with the mortar teams.. but still can not make contact with the mortar team. There are 4 HQ units around both mortar teams.. one team is in contact, the other is not.. even though they are 20m from each other.. and had direct LOS with everyone... looked at the diagram.. followed it to a T. There should be no reason why that mortar team should not be within radio contact with any platoon HQ in the field... But strangely enough.. some of my Platoon HQ loose radio contact from the Company HQ.. how is this possible.. when they are 200m away from each other.... whats the radio range.. 50m? when I figure out screenshots.. I will take a picture of platoon HQ not even seeing or being able to communicate with its subordinates, even though they are right next to each other in open ground.. about 10-15m apart.
  17. Hello everyone.. maybe some can explain why I cannot link my Mortar crews to my front HQ units or FO. I am at the battle of Stary Jankov playing as Germans...... about 45min in game. 2nd Co... has radio as does all of its Platoon HQ.. I have to use the 4th Platoon HQ (Heavy Pl HQ) to link up with the Mortar crew for 2nd Co. as no Mortar crew comes equiped with mortars.... no problem I say.. thats what the Heavy 4th Platoon HQ is for right?? 1st Co has radios as does its subordinate Platoon HQ's just like 2nd Co... Same issues.. but there is no 4th platoon HQ to use for 1st Co HQ Mortar team.. so I use a 1platoon HQ that has a radio.. unfortunately I have no idea who 1platoon is linked to.. nothing on his command link display? (but he has a radio) Some of my tanks cannot link to Battalion HQ or Company HQ... ???? FO can not link to anyone 1st Battalion HQ for all of my Panzers.. has no contact with anyone So im a bit confused.... here.. They are all within radio range of each other.. but I cant get any joy to my Mortar teams.. between Company or platoon level... there are radio's next to each Mortar team.. but I find it a bit wierd that my platoon commanders can not even get radio contact with their Company commander who is only 360m away. Frustrated.. but maybe I am just used to satelite communications. can anyone explain how I can fix this.. I looked at the manual.. and I have not done anything wrong with setting up. Platoons to the front with their platoon commanders.. in the middle I have my Company Commander...and behind him I have my Mortar teams with an available radio... Im even sending the 1st Company Commander back to 1st Co. Mortar teams just to have direct contact with them...however In doing so, I lose contact with all platoons...even though they are less then 500m away. thanks for any light on this.. I could not find a posting.
  18. I am working on a company size scenario. Basically a company of Brandenburgers to take out a communications and Ammo dump at a railway junction. Soviet forces would include MG positions, AAA positions, some security roving about, also there would be a motor pool in the vicinity with some possible Armored cars, and who knows what. Just trying to figure out if demo charges can do the job.. or they need to call in heavy Artillery.. or even a Stuka?
  19. Well I guess its from what perspective you look at it from. Clearly all this mess was started well before WWI.. and the interim. For me I find Churchill interesting... but a warmonger who wanted to take more colonies in Africa and the Far East, and saw an opportunity. look at IRAQ, and the BALKANS.. the Allies started that mess with their mishandling of drawing up borders and new nations. All that talk is for a different thread though.
  20. I think I am on Mission #4.. and the map is well done... I have to say this campaign has been both exciting, and refreshing... beautiful maps.. great mix of equipment. By the way.. in the Second Mission.. I had moved an entire platoon of Mk IV tanks to KG Baker by using the tree-line for cover and fast moving them to KG Baker.. I was not sure but I had a hunch they would have AT weapons or Tanks... Make a long Scenario short, I had KG Baker move out with 5 Pz IV tanks leading the way... brief and violent fire fight at a Train Station... surprised 3 T-34/85 retreating out... good street fights.. lost some troops and 1 20mm AA H/T, lost one stummel and a couple crew commanders.. not bad for a days work.
  21. Yes that has been noticed by myself as well... the gunner gets a head shot... lol and the entire half track crew goes into panic mode. Im not sure if this is accurate.. but if the driver is green, or regular might have an effect on Panic vs Nervous, or even Cautious. I am basically using HT infantry a lot differently now.... I am basically blasting everything with HE.. or I set up a couple tanks and MG (Target Light) the area where I want to assault, maybe drops some 81mm mortar in the area to suppress any infantry.. then send the tracks.. and let my infantry loose. Some off the issues is getting across all that open ground.... so Smoke has become a new friend as well.
  22. The Tiger I, I believe started with an Aluminum Engine HL 210 (600ho)and after a run of about 200 or so tanks it was replaced with the Maybach HL 230 P30 (700hp). This engine replaced the aluminum one as it was cast iron and was in service with the Tiger I, Tiger II and Panther (which was a lot lighter obviously). It is interesting that although the Tiger was expensive, about 2.5 Pz IV tanks or 4 Stug III's. I know they had streamlined production more by the time of the Panther so the costs were releatively the same between a Panther and Pz IV. I normally have other sources but this wiki source on production figures is pretty right on.. and disseminates annual production figures. As you can see, Germany really did not start War Production until 1943. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_armored_fighting_vehicle_production_during_World_War_II
  23. I wonder why they just did not improve the Engine and transmission.. then up armored it. They were into large things... I guess trying to improve it was maybe to hasty, or they thought the Tiger II would be that much better... Although I love the Tiger II, I think I would have improved the Tiger 1, and kept the extra material... but it is amazing at what the Germans could muster while they were getting bombed day and night, and attacked from all sides.
