  1. I always wanted to be a tanker, since I was a child.. watching all those old classic WWII movies and such. However when I got in the Marines... Infantry was where it was at.. the Largest Assault Force on the planet.. Semper FI. That being said though.. when the tanks of either Marines or the US Army rolled by, or even the chance in Iraq seeing the Brits... very scary. Thermals, anti-Infantry smoke, 50.cal, 7.62mg, and then the main gun.. no matter where infantry hides today.. you will be noticed and fired upon.. scary these days.. if your the opposition on any Advanced country. Thats why in playing CMSF.. I blasted everything with tanks.. Those bastards were running everywhere only to be gunned down by .50's or 7.62mm FMJ's LOL Seriously though, there are alot that can destroy tanks as well, Urban zones are the toughest. I really do enjoy the CMSF modules still.
  2. Yeah strange thing is I just was editing a scenerio I am working on.. Could not ghost out any German Units.. I wonder if this is true because I "renamed" them? I went and started loading British... and like you said, If I delete the Core HQ unit.. its gone, but I could delete the subordinate units and it would then be ghosted to be revived later.. this is how I set up large battles.. ghosting out what I dont need so I can set up the forces easier and plot their courses according to the plans I want them to take.
  3. I have had this happen to me way too many times.. It screws up the entire Firpower of the Squad.. one useless member.. picks up nice shiny Stg44 with no ammo.. in fact the entire Company has no ammo for the weapon either, nor does the entire battalion for that matter. I have done alot of research finding if there were ammo shortages... there were direct ammo shortages for the 7.92k ammo that they had been producing since the 1930's. The weapon was rare, but not the ammo for christ sake.
  4. Battlefront... are you all working to resolve this issue, we all understand its not a High priority item.. but it does effect squadsl with said type of ammo alot especially if the unit is engaged for about 10min.. which is not long at all in most scenerios.... We need more AMMO possiblities. thanks.
  5. I myself usually give the AI about 3 Plans to work from, each one having 2-4 options. It makes for some superb battles. I think the more planning you give the AI with different options the more likely it is to have challanging battles. I think a great scenerio builder, will include many different plans with different options of advance, covering forces etc. Flanking tactics instead of direct assualts worked in the AI plans are always challanging depending on how the AI plans are built. Without plotting different AI plans and several options for each plan is just suicidal for the AI.... unless you like easy non challanging wins. I find this game extremely exciting and have suprised myself on how the AI can execute a well established AI plan with several options... that also makes replayability excellent. Not to sidetrack the thread but can anyone tell me how we can delete some of the units in the editor but not delete them from the unit screen? I beleive there was a revive button, strange that I was trying to set up forces more easily by deleting some until I was ready to deploy them by deleting them.. to revive them later for deployment. thanks Juergen
  6. It appears that the Allies have all the ammo they need in their vehicles, just thought it curious as to why we cant supply more ammo for the 7.92K. In long engagements using infantry this is VERY problematic!
  7. Why is it that the rifle squads carrying the Stg44 can not resupply their weapons. I have been reading some and nowhere does it say it was super limited ammo. They had been producing this round since 1938, although the cassing changed from brass to steel late in WWII. Anyways its sort of a pain in the Arse when you are playing extended battles, and one of your squads is equipped with 2 Stg44's or you give buddy aid and one of the troopers turns in his K98 for a Stg44 with 34 rounds of ammo, and then he will not fire his weapon because he is low on ammo. IS there going to be a solution for this at all in the future? thanks. Juergen.
  8. True.. I dont think gaming is as big an issue today as it was 15-20 years ago. Also of note the Deaths Head or Totenkoph date back to Frederick the Great in Prussian times. Hussar Regmt No. 5 to be exact. The German Tank or Armored arm used this, as it was the modern calvary of the day is my guess.
  9. Yeah, I am defentily not troubled by it, and I have been a loyal customer of Battlefront. I know in time it will all get worked out. I just have to take side profile screenshots of my actions with softskin and Armored cars.. LOL Its a great game, and yes its the small things that make this game great.. and many thanks to all those who assisted with this game.1
  10. I know its seems trivial this entire plate thing.. but you would have thought Battlefront would have thought about this when adding plates in the first place knowing they would have different formations in the future. They strive for authenticity.. and as consumers I guess we are hard to please sometimes.
  11. Well the Heer used "Heeres-Splittermuster 31" and the Luftwaffe Field units, Fallschirmjager used Luftwaffe-Splittermuster 41". The Waffen SS used a variety of smocks in the early days, that included Platanenmuster which was very common as well as Rauchtarnmuster. Other types from 1941 included Palmenmuster, "Oak Leaf B Beringtes Eichenlaubmuster, and Oak Leaf A Eichenlaubmuster" All of the above had reversable patterns of either Autumn or Spring.... Finally Erbsenmuster or Dot 44 Pattern which was to be the Battledress Uniform of the Waffen SS. The only Units I know of Historically to use the Italian Camo in mass was the 12th SS HJ and the 1st SS LAH since they did disarm the Italians in 1943. Here is a decent website to check out pictures of the Italian camo and brief History. http://www.dererstezug.com/italiancamo.htm Check out Atthefront.com or 1944Militaria.com I believe. There are some good books to on the subject.
  12. This sounds odd, but why could they do it in the older games... in the original series and not now.. sounds like a major snafu in either the way things are coded or something. Im no computer expert but this is the sorta stuff that should not happen. If I have a Lutwaffe field division, or Waffen SS... they should have the proper asthetics to the vehicle.. they did in the original version.. and Im sorry.. for the amount of money we spend it should be better then the older versions.. not just in graphics.... but with all things. I will still play the game of course, but with small things like this overlooked its kind of embaressing. They (battlefront team) knew they would be adding said Units in future games so I would have expected them to add the same amount of detail at least from the old version.. as in correct plates.. small and trivial matter yes.. but still... an oversite. maybe, maybe they are working on this, no idea.
  13. Hell Yes.. Im downloading this tonight... Thanks for a most excellent MOD. Some of my re-enacting friends just bought the game... I had to send them the pic above.
  14. Best looking one thus far... My Waffen SS troops will be getting this MOD. Thanks for posting. Question. I see that some helmets have Camo Covers and some do not. Is it Possible to put the Waffen SS decal on the helmet's without Covers? Thanks Juergen.
  15. I actually like Time limits.. basically you have "A-Time" to get to said position or the entire plan is jacked up. It actually makes sense.. if you cant get to your objective then the enemy gains the upperhand. Its not Checkers..... Its Chess! But on a HUGE scale.
  16. Yeah I also learned how important FO were when calling in Arty. Most unit HQ can call in any Arty when available, however only FO can call in the BIG stuff.. as I learned with the Germans. I had 4 Mortar batteries, 1 150mm Battery and a 150mm Nebelwerfer Battery...and only the FO could call in the Rocket Battery.. all other HQ units it said DENIED. so be careful with your FO's. Not sure how it is for the American and Brits calling in Offshore batteries with normal HQ units.. maybe no issue. Maybe it was just the scenerio I was playing "Loyalty is my Honor" but only the FO had comm's with the Rocket Battery... all other HQ units were denied.
  17. Say is anyone going to come out with a mod for all the Waffen SS vehicles to have the Correct plates? I have been playing for some time... and I hate to say it but its weird when playing as the Waffen SS, or against them and their vehicle plates are WH... Heer. I dont know just throws me for a loop on why this was not completed before release.. although not a show stopper.. it just diludes my "WWII fantasy Battle somewhat" Thanks for any modders or Battlefront personell already working on this.. it seems a bit forgotten. Also the Field Luftwaffe division plates would have been WL not WH. Just adds more to our epic Battles. Juergen.
  18. Can we get multiple pictures of what we would be getting. Is it a mix of dirty helmets with SS runes, some with camo helmet covers etc.. thanks, Juergen
  19. What are the other Uniforms.. are they mixed with Wool's still. Officers etc. some with wool tunics, etc. Can we get some pics. I have been waiting for some good Waffen SS camo.
  20. Well that does not seem to far off of sorts using the Firefly.. was the best thing the Allies had.. High Velocity 76mm gun.. way better even then the Soviet 85mm in my opinion. I beleive the 76mm High Velocity gun was equal almost to the Panther's 75mm gun. Well depending on distance... I have noticed most of the campaigns the distance in the tank engagements are between 800-500m so the Germans lose alot of advantages. I have noticed that the bloody Panther loses its 75mm gun like no tomorrow.. its the first things that usually goes. in about 3 or 4 hits. Its crazy I tell you.. LOL I have read about 8 different books on either Panzer aces or Armored battles of WWWII Eastern front to western and the Panthers could take a beating from the front.. however call it what you want to even the playing field the Panther lacks some serious gun mantlet armor or something. I dont know just seems wierd to me.
  21. Nice, I like the worn look. Question.. are all the Waffen SS helmets going to look like this? Two... are there a mixture of the Oak Pattern with Non Camo helmets with just the SS sig runes? That would be nice. I dont think anyone has a mix of Helmet covers and Non helmet covers with SS runes.
  22. That would be cool. Playing a Huge scenerio right now.. "Loyalty is My Honor" Some of my grenadiers got caught out in some Artillery fire... out of one squad... 5 men wounded out of 10. Sent another squad and a wounded driver to help them with buddy aid... Mortar fire came in.... no other injuries... I know what its like to come under fire.. you really would go into the gates of hell for your men. Anyways I think it would be a good idea if buddy aid counted more then not recieving KIA's... although myself I always have my men perform buddy aid regardless. Semper fi
  23. As a reenactor we strive for authenticity. I dont like being the bad guy here, but the Dot untiform was what we call the BDU's for the german Waffen SS. They would primarily only be wearing their grey service shirt underneath. The only insignia they wore was on the Left Sleeve which would have been the eagle and Swastica, denoting them as being withthe Waffen SS as they were the only branch of service to wear the eagle on the left upper-mid portion of the sleeve. (go to At the Front.com) It would have been very difficult to determine an officer's rank while wearing the dot pattern, so many officers would have worn their grey Tunics' with rank with a "Smock" over that. There are many of us here that would love to assist when it comes to making uniforms..... authentic. So not sure you can but would it be possible to change officers and NCO's out of the Dot tunics and into Dot pants, wool pants and grey tunic with smocks? the collars were mostly visible while wearing the smocks. Please to the original poster and others, dont take this as a griping, but we just want to help. Sincerely, Juergen.
  24. Yeah..... I want it.. Very nice work. yeah.. and also I do not understand the HQ icon issue. is this one download or is there alot of tweeking that needs to be done?
  25. was just wondering if the German Heer mods I have now, work with CW, or does someone need to make a CW Heer mod for the troops with Splinter Camo again? I take it the Waffen SS mods only apply to the actual Waffen SS troops for CW. I have mods for my CMBN which include tracers, small arms fire, and Heer troop mods, but not sure if they still show up while playing common wealth? Sorta new to all the mods, not sure if you need two seperate mods for CMBN and CW.... pretty sure it was the same thing, although have not been able to check it out as I am out of town... thanks for any enlightenments...
