  1. Is that a bone or an easter egg? It's so confusing... GaJ
  2. There's some remote chance it might be to do with it. What I've seen is that if you don't have it named this way, the update says it worked, but it didn't. You can tell, because if you look into the app (by right clicking on it, doing "Show Package Contents") and look in the Contents/Resources/Data folder, you will see that the upgrade .brz file isn't in there, if it didn't work. If it did work, you'll have Normandy v201.brz there. Cheers, GaJ
  3. At the download site it says: " PREVIOUS SAVE GAME COMPATIBILITY NOTE: Save games from previous versions ARE COMPATIBLE with v2.01, provided that you save your turn-based games in the COMMAND phase (not the replay phase) before upgrading. " So now we know officially GaJ
  4. It is my experience that the CMx2 upgraders need the target folder and app to be named like this: /Applications/CM Battle for Normandy/CM Battle For Normandy.app IE the default. If you are like me and would like to have /Applications/CM Battle for Normandy/CMBN 200.app and upgrade that to /Applications/CM Battle for Normandy/CMBN 201.app TOO BAD. I know that BFC have tried to make this work nice and smooth, but Apple's installer software doesn't cooperate. I _think_ you may get away with changing the folder name, but why take chances? Before you upgrade your 2.00 CMBN to 2.01, make sure your 2.00 install it is named thusly: /Applications/CM Battle for Normandy/CM Battle For Normandy.app then the installer will work. After that you can name it what you like. IMHO, YMMV, JTTH etc. GaJ
  5. I don't think there's any prospect of the issue with transferring games from 1.11 being fixed. Transferring games from one *major* version to the next has always been kind of "we'll try to make it work, but don't hold us to it". Which is fair enough - it's a big ask, actually. GaJ
  6. In theory, BadgerDog's answer applies to PBEM games. I guess we'll know after we try it GaJ
  7. Gekkibi, I think the Lieutenant is referring to gamey play between two human adversaries, not fiddling around cheating against the AI. GaJ
  8. It's basically because if you get an opponent off the BFC board, the chances are they won't finish the game with you that they started. I know that there will be all sorts of exceptions, and everyone can tell me a wonderful PBEM partner they found here at the board, but still I will bet that for each partnership started this way there are a trail of unfinished games and disappointed players. This is the major benefit of using a club to find an opponent: someone who can be bothered joining a club is probably serious enough to finish a game even if they are loosing. GaJ
  9. This is a small feature update. I have added an item on the game right click menu that lets you tell H2HH that you know that this game has a turn waiting, and you don't need to be reminded any more. You're letting it sit there for some good reason. The purpose of this is so that you can use the status bar icon to tell you when a new interesting game comes in, even if you have one that you are deliberately waiting with. The game will still have an exclamation mark in the "Other Info" section, and it will say "Your Turn" still. It's just that the status bar icon will stop smiling about this game. You might be deliberately waiting because you're halfway through a huge setup, or because you need to update your version of CMBN before you can play that one... stuff like that. If this makes no sense to you, then you probably don't need to update As usual, the update is in the H2HH dropbox folder. If you don't have access and you want it, send me a PM with your email address. GaJ
  10. Or... hey... there's this great game I've heard of ... maybe you heard of it too? A WWII simulation ... it will knock your socks off... almost endless replay possibilities.... You could play that while you wait, for entertainment... GaJ
  11. I have a user reporting a weird crash under 10.6.x. Wondering if it's something about this version of OSX, or this guys computer or... what. Is anyone else using it under 10.6.x? GaJ
  12. Hi All, H2HH 2.4.4 is available in the H2HH dropbox share. This release is purely to fix up "WAS"(*) that was affecting Windows XP users. I did have a similar complaint about Vista. I don't know if this release will fix it. If it doesn't, my recommendation would be to use this opportunity to upgrade to Windows 7 If you are not trying to run H2HH on XP, you don't need to upgrade (though it won't hurt to do so). GaJ *: Wierd Ass ****: official programming term.

  15. Summary: H2HH can't cope with parens ("()") in file names. GaJ
  16. While watching this I started hearing in the back of my mind "Exterminate, exterminate"! GaJ
  17. It's continuing as an awesome scenario. It is so _difficult_, I have to put it aside each time after I watch the movie just to think for a while about what to do next, each turn. It's a blockbuster. The only thing I would say is that so far my reinforcements have come rather sooner than I'm ready or needing them.... GaJ
  18. Do you reckon your vehicles are getting dirtier and dirtier as time goes by, Fuser? GaJ
  19. Yep yay eh Steiner, you can send me your save file, though I can recreate this myself (as that picture shows) and will submit that as well. GaJ
