  1. Hi Scott, For more feedback on your report you described a 'create surface' error with respect to the sub and this is actually a video display error similar to the ones you reported for the low battery, i.e. also reported as 'create surface' errors so I am guessing they are related somehow. I only mention this as typically you would receive another type of error message if it was more of a game error related to units or unit movement etc. Either way if you encounter the error again please feel free to send me a saved turn and I will be happy to take a look to confirm. Hubert
  2. Cantona66, it might feel slower if you bought a system with a lower GHz than your older one. For example, you mentioned that you purchased a triple core system with 2.1 GHz and since SC2 only uses a single core when running the game might feel slower if you have less GHz than your older system even though it has 2 additional cores. The multi-core systems can be great but can also be misleading in terms of overall performance. They are great for mutlitasking etc., but for some games it might not be as good as a very fast single core system etc. I run a dual core but my GHz are a bit higher and closer to 3.0 etc., so it was a nice upgrade over my older system a few years back. As another example and looking at some of the gaming rigs like Alienware they mostly run very fast single cores (lastest Intel chips) for gaming only etc. It's a careful balance but I think the key is to still try and get a faster GHz system, multi-core or otherwise, if it is in the budget. I'm looking to get another test system that runs 64-bit Vista and have a quad core but I'm still waiting for the right price point for the higher GHz systems as I too don't want it to be running slower than my older system. Hope this helps, Hubert
  3. Ah ok, sounds like it is more related to your system battery dying rather than a repeatable game error, thanks for the info. Hubert
  4. scottsmm, no problem at all and in fact that is what the Editor is for At the same time though and with that many customizations it can break the original scripting of the AI if not properly adjusted so it can result in a less than desirable AI experience depending on the amount of changes. I only mention this as the current AI is really fine-tuned to the existing design etc. But the good news is that the AI does also play very well on a generic level, i.e. generic land, air and naval combat and this would for example explain the AI bombing your Invasion island off the US coast as there are no scripts telling the AI to do that. Rather it probably just recognized these targets and decided to have a go at them etc. For the mod, you should definitely make it available as it sounds interesting and feel free to post it either at CMMODS or within the Battlefront repository. Hubert
  5. No worries Blashy, I think for anyone that reads through this thread will now understand the original intent Hubert
  6. Scott, sorry to hear that you've been having problems and to be honest it is the first we've heard of this other than the one known AI purchases related issue which we already have a temporary fix for. If you ever encounter an issue with the game such as a segmentation violation please don't hesitate to send me the 'autosave' so I can take a look and correct it for the first patch. Thanks! Hubert
  7. Scottsmm, I've just emailed you a fix that should resolve this issue and allow you to continue your game. Let me know if you received it and if it worked, thanks! Hubert
  8. Blashy, it is an interesting thread but I think you might scare off a few people in thinking the AI is not very good at all... which in my biased opinion I would of course have to disagree Is it perfect? No and it can always be improved and that is something we are always trying to do throughout the history of the SC series. Good news is that for many players, like for example AZGungHo, it is already pretty darn good and so we are very happy about that. For those that need more of a challenge I would also second the Multiplayer suggestion as it really is a whole new experience Hubert
  9. Scottsmm, looking at the screenshot you provided for your latest game I can see why you might find the AI easy... customizing the map with an unsinkable Japanese island right off the coast of the US would probably make an invasion of the US mainland pretty easy for most people Either way it looks like the error you received in game is one of the known ones and already fixed for the first patch. I will send you an email with a workaround so you can continue your game. Hubert
  10. No problem and send it along anytime if it happens again, thanks! Hubert
  11. xwormwood, this was just caught on our end as well and it is a small AI bug that is placing new carriers, not those off of the P/Q but I believe newly built ones with a strength=0 for the 'carrier' strength portion. This has been fixed for the first patch.
  12. Thanks for the report and can you send me the saved turn with instructions on how to repeat it at support@furysoftware.com. I can then fix this for the next patch. Hubert
  13. Good point Timskorn and I forgot about that... maybe some post game screenshots will be nice to see as it will provide some context on this epic battle
  14. eagledaddy, Sorry to hear about the trouble and it sounds like it might be a video card issue. Once in game and in the MAIN MENU screen go to the SETTINGS dialog and select Video Acceleration to see if that helps? Hubert
  15. Sounds like a great battle guys but we need screenshots!
  16. abukede, very glad to see you are enjoying the game
  17. Thanks Sandy and sounds like the fix I provided got you going again... consider this fixed for the first patch as well.
  18. Cubby, there is one very rare issue so far that causes a CTD but we've already got a fix in place for the first patch and I have already provided fixes to those that have encountered it so they could continue their game. Other than that it seems to run quite smoothly without any other serious issues reported. Hubert
  19. harley9699, they may be Allied but are they 100% Allied, i.e. fully joined? If you go into the War Map you can see what % activation the USSR is currently at. If not at 100% then they cannot invade as Moonslayer already mentioned. Hope this helps, Hubert
  20. Sandy send me an email as I may have a temporary fix for you to continue playing. Send to support@furysoftware.com Thanks, Hubert
  21. thetwo, Thanks for the report and sorry to hear about the trouble. Can you try running in 'Full Screen' mode to see if that helps? Hubert
  22. Jgilber, Thanks for the report and send me an email and your turn at support@furysoftware.com and I should have a fix for you. Thanks, Hubert
  23. For now it is just as Bill mentions an issue with the increased number of units on the map and the added calculations... but we are always working on improving the speed for down the road. Hubert
  24. Makris, Sorry to hear about the trouble and I'll forward this to the right people and I suspect you will hear back first thing in the morning. Hubert
