A Tale From the East Front
History Buff replied to M.K.P Huusko's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Yes it was. Hint of advice, don't give your commanders a shot of vodka during the battle. -

LOS straight through Buildings (?)
History Buff replied to PeterX's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Maybe they're big windows -
Very very true. Alot of attrocities were commited by liberated nations. I recall one my Grandfather, (Apart of the Dutch Underground and then a cook for the british army), witnessed upon returning home to Heerland I believe it's called in southern Holland. Across razor wire, were all the local nazi conspiritors. My Grandfather saw one of his best mates on that wire in his nazi uniform. The same mate who had offered him a nazi uniform in 1940 with the call to join the "new order." One my Grandfater refused thankfully. Well lets face it I probabably wouldn't be around today if he did put on that uniform.

I've only been lurking not posting on these forums, but even though I wasn't really impressed by the demo, (Really unbalanced scenarios) and my comp can't do the high end graphics I still bought it. Sure it's worth it though. Glad to be back......

Anyone from Australia got the game?
History Buff replied to Tasman's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I bought it last night..... Still waiting suprisingly.... :-P It's worth it trust me. -
I dloaded the demo yesterday and have played it alot. It's great. Only let down is the graphics to my low end comp. I got a post on the tech support page about it, please reply there as well, it would be most appreciated. Anyway one little nifty thing is if you o right up close to the fire fights and see all the little bullets hit the ground around the target. Looks cool, and is a great way to see how much fire they are taking. Just been playing pretty much russians only at the moment. But I'll tackle as Jerry soon enough. That mass infantary scenario is difficult. I hate mass conscript troops, they never move where you want them to.

Hey all, just dloaded the CMBB demo and am able to play it. It's fun. But alas, my video memory is at the lower end of the technology food chain. I felt that the graphics I see isn't the full glory of what BTS was wrokin hard on for 2 years. And I know imacs aren't the best to upgrade. So heres my specs. I want to upgrade to at least 32 mb of video mem. How do I go about it, and what product should I buy? imac G3 333 mhz 96 mb of RAM 56k Modem Mostly USB connections. MAC OS 9.1 I have absolutely no experience in upgrading comps, so please help. Thanx in advance.

Sept. 1, got it...but what time?
History Buff replied to CMplayer's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
thought it's funny CMBB Demo is on the Same Day Germany marched into Poland. CMBB NOT LIFE!!!!!!! You live it, breath it and eat it. If only we didn't need food. Sigh. -
Vodka Martini, Shaken not stirred. Failing that, a Rum and Coke, or a Margarita Come on, Trotsky was Murdered in Mexico in 1940.

Mmmmm, interesting question. I know Hitler liked his U-Boats rather than his surface fleet doing all the naval duties. I'm assuming the Russians never truely had the need for ships in the majority of there battles. I honestly can't say though, never heard of any majoy engagement on the eastern front where naval guns had a devastating impact. Good thing to research.......

Suggestions for CMBB patch
History Buff replied to Sergei's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Hey BFC - I can't take my lovely King Tiger in 1941, I want a patch -Hey that turrent rotates 2 degrees/ sec slower than in real life. Whats up!!! -
Please can anyone from BFC, BTS, or anyone who can answer this question: What are the official and final requirements for CM:BB? Have I missed something, can some one point me in the right direction? I mean whats there to lose about releasing the official system requirements at this late stage when a release date is announced? Please.

Another worthless poll: Who's buying CMBB?
History Buff replied to LGMB's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
In a word: Hell Yeah Oh wait that's 2. Well yes then -
Well personally I'd love to see North Africa and the Mediteranean (I can't spell either), come next in CM3. Right from Say, September 1940 when the Brits really got involved in the theatre, all the way up to the Capture of Rome in May/June 1944. Plus another bonus, there would be good reason to include the ANZACS (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps), Tobruk, the famed N.Z. Armoured engagements against Rommel. It'd be fun. If the Early war was moddled I'd say go from the Spannish Civil War to Barbarossa. (But would the Balkans be covered in the North Africa game, hell they could actually be covered in CMBB, with the Russian advancement into the Balkans). Maybe the early war would finish say Battle of Britain? Anyway the September 1939 - July 1940,I think won't be a "great" area to cover, and the Spanish Civil War would probably have to be included. But who knows what BTS and BFC will come up with.

New Scenario, "Fear Filled Day" now available!
History Buff replied to Pzman's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Finished this one last night, as the allies and got a hard fought draw. 52-48. Good Scenario with a few surprises, but I think the Germans were to strong. Maybe one less Inf. Gun or lose the STUG. I personally can't see how you could lose against the AI as the Germans in this one, but thats just me. -

Announcing CMBB Distribution Details
History Buff replied to Moon's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
If it is soooo close, can someone from BTS or Battlefront state the final computer requirements? Pref. for Macintosh. I'm sweating here, cause all the upgrades from CMBO sound so large that I'm getting edgy over the entire thing.
