  1. Just below the house that is about to be destroyed, looks like a small black grenade. Halftrack is open topped so I think there is a good chance of letting off some ammunition inside. Failing that a rifle grenade, but my bet is on the grenade.
  2. I'm now playing CMBB on my iBook. 800 Mhz G3 32mb VRAM 128mb RAM Virtual Memory on. OS 9.2 It's frozen a few times after turns have played out and when I click the done button. Have to restart etc. Anyone else suffer from this and how do I fix it?
  3. Need some Mac help with Biltaid. On my new iBook, (ah CM in 32mb vram, I've been missing out ), I'm in OZ X and I can't open it up, the doc says something like Java is already installed but I can't get it to work. Help please. Thanx in advance.
  4. I'm back. Uni's been killing me with my political life also taking a hammering. But with only one essay left, "Why did the Soviets defeat Nazi Germany in WW2?" (FUN!) thought it was a good time to get back into CMBB mode. Only in Apr 1942 still. Anyone beat me yet?
  5. Hehehehe, as an Aussie, bring on Tobruk!!! Hey can CMAK have a really special scenario where the Anzacs stormed the Tobruk warehouse held by the Brits to get ammunition mines etc after Tobruk was encircled? No brits were killed to my knowledge but they were well humiliated.
  6. Ooops. I've ah stopped playing my BCR games to let everyone else catch up. Ooops. Yes still April. I've got a very large battle at the moment and I'm on the defensive with no sign of the enemy, it takes ages to load so I'm waiting for my new ibook which I'll be plugging up to my Widescreen TV to play So in the mean time, catch me if you can! Interesting.....
  7. Man on Gun : Commander do you really need those binoculars to see me play my stunt with a 75mm?

  9. No we have CM:AK, yep 8 mths left to get CMBB done. Biltong - Advice, delegate people to work on 6 mth blocks and go for it. Of coure your the boss. This also mean us CMMC's have to get moving fast if we are to have a CMBB campaign.
  10. Hehehehe, at least I'm ahead in April 42. Great to see the Aussies there, can't wait for Tobruk!!!!!!!! Oh BFC please oh please don't double up on voices. Us Aussies don't speak like Brits or Americans!!!!!! I'll nominate for voices if you want.
  11. I think the Infantry need a raise. I expected at least half my men to be at vet. by now. (I've never really had major inf. casulties). As for tanks, they kill alot more cause dey got da bigga gunz. It's called an MG and a wave of incoming inf. Easy 3 pts a battle. 2 for killing, 1 for general exp gain. Actually I'm not using player exp. Only made the games overly unbalanced one way or the other. So I leave handicap at zero etc. Some times I get a slight advantage. Sometimes they do. Mostly it's dead even. Hadicap is I think a waste of time. Theres is no fun is launching an assault with 1500 pts against 4500 pts. No fun, just a death for your men with no hope in hell.
  12. Heres my Exp. stats as of 3rd week 1st day of April 42. Note : The the middle of constant engagements so some are a bit off. ? = Units currently out of action needing replacements. 13. Nice AAR HB How far are you now? For all the newbies out there, History Buff is way out front - leading the pack. Last time I heard he was in April 42?</font>
  14. From the front : Horten led his men wearily back to the staging area with defeat on there minds. The Hungarians had faltered. The Hungarian commander who was ambitious for a frontal assault by his men was now most likely on report. Horten believed it possibly wasn't all the commanders fault. The inferior weapons of the Hungarian army were no match for Russian war machine. With his flank crumbling, Horten was forced to pull his men back. Especially when they hit a minefield the size of a small village. Luckily casulties were light for his men. The loss of a Panzer IIIJ, being the only major casulty. Never again would Horten allow his men to be a lacky in a foolish assault against the dug in enemy. And never again with the Hungarians. +++++ As you can imagine it wasn't a nice battle.
  15. Well that doesn't often happen. Especially when you have 36 Hotchkiss' against T-34's. Read my next post.
  16. Was playing a certain scenario with lots of Russian tanks. T-34's and KV's mostly. Would you think that rushing known AT Gun positions is a viable tactic. As in fast move straight at the target to within 50-100 metres? I did it a number of times and not only was I not hit as I came in but when I got closer the enemy crew bailed at the sight of two platoons of KV's. Thoughts? Was I just lucky?
  17. Problem - When the emergency is over your force is probaby 20 miles away from that gun, which is now in soviet hands, and Berlin's just ordered you to move closer to the Don.
  18. Fanatic you say Biltong? I just signed up to be a CMMC GM for some reason. Nah seriously sounds fun Hey I wasn't even drunk at the time. From the front : Hortern was advancing in the immedeate assault his superiors had ordered him to carry out. Ordered to "watch over" the Hungarians. Horten not wanting his men to die surrounded by idiot commanders from another army sent his troops forward in a flank attack while the main Hungarian force attacked through the wheatfields with Hotchkiss support. (Anyone sen how many Hotchkiss' you can buy for 800 pts). As the Hungarians came under fire from distant T34's, Horten smiled and proded his Hungarian "scouts" to move forward in front of his men. No man from the German army was going to die in a fools advance in the open. Even if they had ample artillery. (1500 pts worth). +++++ Why oh why did I have to have my first major major battle with a bunch of Hungarians.
  19. As Herr Horten peered through the light trees he w the effect of a concentrated artillery barrage. He exclaimed to his aid under the now sparse gunfire, "Wow. That worked well. Praise the 337 mm rockets." "Yes command had it right this time." Horten replied thinking of his previous engagement, "Yes. Never trust the Luftwaffe." Horten ordered his men forward to occupy the line of peasent shacks which were his main objective. They did so with the supporting Armour providing a great metal shield. As Horten arrived in one of the shacks the fighting had all but died down. He gripped his MP40 and said, the only problem of suceeding so well is we won't get any rest. His aid agreed. The offensive must go on. Real world: +++Just gotta mop up some reds.++++
  20. What type of rifles would the German Snipers / Sharshooters of used in 1941-42. Did this change in the later years? How effective were they? Specs? Cheers in advance.
  21. Horten's boys falter. Herr Horten's lads have had a rough time over the last couple of weeks. The loss of their original CO and now a defeat at the hands of Soviet armour. Meant to be a glorious drive to the Don,, the fresh assaults were badly timed and executed. The aircraft sent to cover the advance were useless. The pilot's will here of their stupidty soon enough. However Horten's taskforce's tanks were able to knock out a platoon of T-34's but did not have enough firepower to take out reinforcing KV - 1's. Horten made a quick decision after seeing two of his StuG's collapse and become a large metal road block. The force was forced to pull back. In the evening, Horten made a complaint about the Luftwaffe's accuracy.
  22. The glorious men of the company now known as Horten's men have just begun a late march offensive against the red positions. Fully resupplied and at full strength, the loss of there first CO, has taken a bit out of all of them, but Horten, the legend who beat Himmler's drunk cousin in a drinking game has pulled the men together for a major push against the enemy. Meanwhile in Germany, Herr Rausch was laid to rest in a small plot outside Berlin with friends and family looking on. We will remember him. BCR is taking my life away. Please stop!
