  1. I just finished a game of Fear in the Fog and can tell you why I hate Green troops. They die to easily. (But probably realistically). Funny, I look through the units and the regular units and the few veterans are truely making a punch, while the green troops are useless in the battle, and the only really good purpose I saw for them was as multiple targets to confuse the opponent. At lease the difference in experience is evident. But in any QB I'd take very few Green and below level troops, how about everyone else????
  2. You guys keep getting better and better. At this rate the game won't be out until oh, 2005, but it will be great. Keep up the hard (and great) work!!!!
  3. It may not look like with my posting time, but here in Oz, it's 22nd of Jun at 635 pm. And looks like no CMBB, we all knew it was wishful thinking But we all know BTS and Battlefront.com will get it done and done well. Keep up the good work!!
  4. Oh its not that bad, just buy Virtual PC... </font>
  5. One thing I've noticed about most CMBO scenarios is that once you play them once, it is a lot more boring playing them again even as the other side. An idea I had is to maybe combine, he current quick battle and scenario system in place. The scenario designer can opt for the player/computer to chose what forces they wish to commit to the scenario from the units avaliable. The scenario designer has the power however to lay out any parameters they wish to include, like the max or min number of a particular unit you can take or what you can take at all. Like chosing from the battalion or divisional pool. I'm sure it has been discussed before, but being able to chose your forces without knowing completely what the enemy is going to have, or the exact terrain set up would provide a sense of real interesting game play. It's great the grace these forums again. What do you all think?
  6. ++++To Gamey, unrealistic, leave it for those useless wargaming games++++
  7. Like lighting up a campfire or getting the BBQ going. Therefore the troops don't need to ask, "Anyone got a light?" Seriously though, I love flamethrowers to simply block off an infantary assault in urban and wooded areas. I mean you can have a fanatic german squad ready to charge but it won't charge through a wall of flame.
  8. How about a russian saying, "Ooooh I can suddenly speak english" Of course they aren't going to have speeches like that. I don't think army in CMBB can speak english. That sucks for us lot who do, we don't know if our troops are cheering or dying. The only sound we recognise is a rifle shot with a "AAAAAHHHH!" After it.
  9. Yes okay!!!!! SWEET All we need now is the demo or the release The wait is killing me.
  10. Hey all budding CM players. Overm my time playing CM i've noticed not many scenarios have been set in the absolute final days of the war. May 1945, so I'm making some linked scenarios following a fictional american inf. battalion and fanatic German mountain troops and Volksstrum forces have minor clashes of around company size in the mountains of southern Germany. All fictional so don't worry. So far I got 2 scenarios in the works - "(No Title yet)" An American company is ambsushed in a valley by Volksstrum -"The Last Laugh" Clearing out a sector of mountains, an American recon element makes contact with the base of operations of the militia forces. Both are about company size battles with only light vehicles. I'm just wondering if you have any ideas of what I can add to this line of connected scenarios.
  11. Beta Demo - Ages ago Last Defence. Playing As Americans, I watched in amazement as I saw half tracks and troops proceed down the dirt road towards my platoon, Half tracks MG's sounding so nice. I felt I was actually in the battle. Of course I didn't order toops around, and just kept clicking the go button to see the movies. Unfortuantely for me, I forgot about CM till about a year back when I finally got around to buying it.
  12. What does this mean? Do you have the latest intel from the inside do you? Now I'm all giddy again and sweating it out for CMBB SHAME ON YOU!
  13. Lets say I don't ever want to be shot up by one
  14. My bet, Jun 22 2041, the nice 100 yr aniversary of Barbarossa seems like the most likely release date. Nah just kidding, 2002, Jun 22. Then they post, we have a warehouse with 100 copies. Once they're gone, thats it, no more runs. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heheheh, nah I think CMBB is going to be big in terms of $$$$$, and is going to be excellent. Or they turn around and tell us it has all been a big april fools. Nah!!!! When the games done, its done which is good in my books.
  15. Very interesting If there is more than 1 objective, I'll rush to the one on my side of the board knowing there is an unlikly chance that my opponent will be there waiting. I'll then move caustiously up to the second which he/she will be holding. If there is one. I'd rather let them take it and then pound em with artillery cause I know where he'll be. If I have no artillery I'd have to play it by what happens on a turn to turn basis.
  16. Heh, it is too. Well when I'm posting this it is 1600 hours on the 8th local time here in oz, so
  17. I do feel like a complete fool, but thats what happens when you abandon CM for a month or so to pursue other interests. Oh the humanity
  18. ...... and tell me what forces are there in CMBB again? Stupid me I forgot Thanx in advance
  19. The best MG in the war I read in numerous sources was the one the Aussies used in North Africa and in the Pacific. What was it called ahhhh!???? It rarely ever jammed, caused it relied on gravity for the rounds to be placed in the barrel. Only prob it had, was a sevre case of overheating.
  20. Sorry for not being around in the last month or so, had to catch up with my other hobby (Miniature Wargaming to be exact) Just wanted to know, has there been any big announcements for CMBB? Cheers in advance
  21. I have just put on the final touches for my second Market Garden related scenario. My first one was a bit rusty cause the AI. It's "Take the Field" if anyone is interested and is avaliable at the scenario depot. Well this one I am happy to say, has had a touch more personal testing and gives some exciting play though only as the British. Try to get the last comapny of red devils off the northern side of the Rhine as the German steam roller advances! All I have to do is finish off the briefings and then I'll email it out to any willing beta testers, so please leave your email below if interested. Thanx in advance.
  22. Mine arrived in Perth Australia a week after I put in the order! But my mum hid the CD till after my yr 12 final exams for two weeks. Give up my CD, you gotta be joking! It's the only thing that will stop me going mad before CM:BB is released.
