Would bve good to have a shortcut button to select the last plotted way point of a selected unit. At the moment I have to click on a unit, then click on the last way point (which is often quite difficult to select). Would speed up orders quite a lot for me.

Completely agree. I think this is one of the single biggest things that could be done to improve the experience of playing CM. Allowing the player to do more with less clicks would be a massive improvement. Anything that reduces the administrative burden on the player is good.

A cancel button on the big red button's save email dialog. A two way acquire mechanism, so I can correct my mistakes when I take something that my unit can't use.   The combine command be a more reliable way to put my teams back together so I can break out a different team, or assault with the full squad after have broken it into teams. Maybe just select the two teams, and issue an assault. Command phase improvements. Things like tabbing through the selected unit's way-points, adding and deleting way-points, or selecting a unit and being able to quickly position the camera relative to it. More flexibility in embarking and debarking my grunts from and back into the vehicle. Wouldn't it be nice to move a vehicle to a waypoint where they wait for the grunts to load up, then move to another location. A way to select multiple units (e.g. vehicles), and plot a series of way-points, and all the selected vehicles travel through those way-points. (i.e. absolute movement rather than relative movement) In general, I'd like improvements to make the command phase to be less tedious. The easier it is to play the game, the more enjoyable it becomes.

@IanL Glad you agree. We've spoken before about some of these ideas on the FGM forums.  I'm JTimo there.

Interesting that the Vega bugs out. I use a 2019 iMac 27" 5k with Radeon Pro 575X GPU and have practically zero issues running any of the CM games. I do still run Mojave (10.14) for stability/compatibility as it's a work rig as well. Use it to play and develop my mods and rarely find anything it can't handle. Bit slow opening the largest of maps but that's to be expected. Looks like AMD may have futzed up the newer drivers. I may run a test with Catalina, Big Sur and Monterey to see if any of them cause issues for me.

Yes. This needs to get pinned somewhere:
    1. Right click on the installer and select Open.   That will skip the step of authorizing it in System Preferences
    2. It will begin verifying. This takes a few minutes. Wait it out. It will appear stuck when the progress bar is about 2/3 complete. It's ok. It will finish. Fix a drink or a snack 🙂
    3. Depending on whether you've updated to Catalina or not you'll get a message that Apple can't verify it free of Malware. But you can click on the Open button (be careful to not just hit enter because the dialog has the Cancel button selected in blue by default.
    4. Once you've done that you'll be presented with the familiar regular installer window.

As for why it's this way, you'd have to ask Steve for details. I have a couple of astronomy planning programs and they have similar issues. The developer of one of those has said for a niche program it's expensive and a pain to get it done and not worth it to him. That's his view. He vouches for his software.

StormDog reacted to A Canadian Cat in Is there a trick to go from "Deploy Weapon" to "Hide" when assigning the end waypoint?
Well that sucks. How does the game UI handle that? For example if I put a face, and pause command on the last way point indicators for both show up. If it add a target then the face is removed and the target command is shown.
What I am asking is can you setup the commands such that the last way point displays the word deploy and the word hide? If the UI is indicating that hide is enabled then there is a bug we can log. Either the game should remove the command it cannot do or execute everything it says it will. Clearly the later would be better...

CMSF2: Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry By Oleksandr

With a great respect to Canadian Military and all commanders on this forum I would like to present you with my latest mod for CMSF2.
This is a huge thing for me and first and foremost I would like to thank each and every person related to Canadian Military (as well as to all NATO partners) for help that your countries provide to Ukraine.
Operation Unifier is one of those things what made want to make this mod.

Recently I've seen that there is on going argument within Canada about turning Multicam into new "main" camouflage pattern.
Since this game is about hypothetical invasion of Syria I've decided to make a mod about how would Canadian Forces adopt to a long-term conflict in that region.

I've took the Multicam Arid pattern as the base and modified it a little bit to match most of the game maps.

As you can see from this slide - your forces will be camouflaged pretty good.

I've also reworked most of the gear including NVS so that it will match desert realities better.

Some patches were added. Now I know that most of the time patches being avoided within Canadian military especially when it comes to combat. Yet, for the sake of the eye candy and because I've seen some photos I've added some of those patches.
Now this is version 1.0 of this mod and it will be updated in few months.

CMSF2 was big thing for all of us here. I was not as excited about this game but the NATO module made me quite happy. What I'm doing here is a little more that just a camouflage change - what I'm trying to make is to show forces what would be present there not for 3 months but more than 10 years. That's just my vision and I think that after main operation what would take few months it would be long and lasting operation. Following that logic I've made this mod.

Now there is a lot of great content produced. And I will be trying to keep up with most of the trends while working on my ideas further. I hope that you will enjoy this mod its updates in the future, I also hope that you guys will enjoy other stuff what I will be posting really soon. Enjoy the game and thank you for your feedback.

You could try to set a target arc, but it isn't always very reliable.....A slightly more tricky way to go about it might be to use a Face order to get them to the side of the building you need, followed by a permanent Pause order and then a Target Arc.

You're in luck, I have an 82nd skin nearly ready to go. I'll add 2ID to the list as well. Might as well throw in 1st Cav at this point too.
