  1. For the most part, the country is dumb, which is why it will be the McCain/Palin ticket that wins.
  2. Hey by the way, I found my dvd case which had the keycode on it, so I'm good now. I'm guessing my 3 year old niece must have hid it, she was visiting not long ago. So now...
  3. Wow, thanks for the hints luderbamsen, I certainly need them. Yeah my first ground assault had me lol, it was a wholesale slaughter. I am slowly but surely getting better at it. Oh and Elerium 115, duely noted, thanks.
  4. I finally got the download to work and the game runs fine with sound on my pc. Too bad I don't know what the hell I'm doing though. But I can definitely see why this game is a classic. Wow, when year did this game come out exactly? I see this download is part of the collectors edition which came out in 98. Also, is there any kind of manual/guide available somewhere?
  5. Maybe this article? I didn't read it all so I'm not sure if special forces are included.
  6. It's perfect! Seriously though, the AI is merely ok, nothing to really brag about. It's the worst on the attack, only play as the attacker or MEs. Also boosting the AI xp does help some. But obviously the best way to play is against a buddy.
  7. Thanks for the feedback Ssiissuu. Yeah I heard the last stage was pretty frustrating. I'll probably still give a whirl though By the way, I think you would love Sins of a Solar Empire. I never did buy it, but I played my friends copy. We thought it was great, it got great reviews as well.
  8. Sounds great, thanks for the info fellas. I think I will give it a try, I can overlook ancient graphics. Elmar, I tried to DL it but I keep getting an error. I assume hopefully it's because the server is busy.
  9. So whats the deal with the X-Com games? I never played any of them but hear over and over how great the original was. So why is that, whats so great about them? I know nothing about them.
  10. No don't, just keep clicking all the links as many times as you possibly can as fast as you can. Seriously though, I don't think its even possible to delete your default theme. Sounds like your confusing the internet download list with whats actually installed in your FF. The first small box you get after you click on Add-ons under the tool menu is whats installed in your FF. To search for more, click "Get add-ons" and then click "Browse all add-ons" and then that takes you to the website. When searching I recommend using the advanced search in order to bring up a list of the updated 3.0 stuff. By the way, what's ABP?
  11. **Bump** Well, Spore is finally gonna be on store shelves this Monday. It's already raking in some impressive review scores, check out it's gameranking. I did get a kick out of the creature creator demo awhile back. Also the whole idea/premise of taking a single cell organism all the way to conquering the universe sounds different and fun. So I'll probably be picking this one up next week.
  12. Speaking of Call of Duty, I just uninstalled CoD4 because it's been playing very poorly lately. I'm guessing it had something to do with a punkbuster update. All my other games are playing fine. Anyways, I go to reinstall and guess what, yup, my keycode is lost. Even though I still have the gamebox, manual, and dvd sleeve. So I'm guessing the keycode came on a postcard which is nowhere to be found = F**king Bullsh*t!:mad: So I went to the Activision site and sure enough they have no keys to give out, no matter what the circumstances are. So I figure what the hell, I'm gonna try and hunt down a keycode generator. After all, I did spend $50 on the game. I did manage to download one but it ended up being an ad for a some kind of a loan agency, so it says. It was asked me for all my info and how much I wanted to loan out, lol. Ah well, life goes on. Since the mad smileys just don't do the job properly, here ya go.
  13. I figured the tile would be somewhat vague in terrain features like woods, city, open ground, etc. So changing the auto-generator settings would suffice, such as the map type, tree coverage, and hilliness. Don't get me wrong though, I'm glad it will all be handmade. As already mentioned the auto generator could still be used to speed up the building of larger campaigns. Although the designer would/should still make minor changes to the map, roadworks, flag placement, etc.
  14. Just click on Tools at the top and then click on Add-ons. There you'll find a link to browse recommended add-ons or all of them. You can also access options for your installed add-ons. But if you don't like something you can easily disable or uninstall it from there too. Edit: Actually I just installed the flagfox add-on, it puts a small flag at the bottom right of the browser. It lets you know what country the server is located in and if you click on it, it'll take you to geotool site showing a map. This doesn't necessarily make browsing better or easier, but it's just plain kool. Just checked the battefront server, it's located in San Francisco, CA.
  15. I'm loving it, although I haven't used it since 1.something. I made the transition from IE6 to FF 3.01 just a few weeks ago. I don't bother with that Stumble upon thing. Also organizing my bookmarks is great, much better than IE, just different and takes some getting use to. I also turned off the 'bookmarks' toolbar for better use of space. The only add-on I use is the PopupSound, I haven't tried much else. Just give it some time.
  16. Great to hear from you again Hunter. So if I understand you correctly, take a 50 tile strategic map from within CMC and the scenario designer will have to construct 50 maps for use within CMBB. I assumed, especially for larger maps with say 80+ tiles, CMC would use CMBBs QB auto-generator for the maps.
  17. This ain't no screenshot, but I thought it was kinda funny. Based on that credit card commercial I'm sure we've all seen way too many times.
  18. Actually I just started using FF again a few weeks ago. I love it, works much better than its older days. I assume you can easily import all your settings to Chrome? One thing is for sure, I'm never going back to that IE mess.
  19. I betcha luderbamsen is a game pirate. Anybody wanna bet? Seriously though, anybody hear about this encryption chip that is being put on motherboards in most of the computers that are coming out now. It's called TPM, or Trusted Platform Module, which will authorize games from your computer's motherboard. Some details here. But the age old saying of "If you can build it I can break it" still holds true for any protection scheme. For every white hat you have out there, a thousand black hats crack with the speed of a cheetah. Each one wanting to be the first to crack a piece of code and imprint their names in the hallows of geekdom.
  20. Hmm, I had a different understanding, since the battlefields are gigantic it would be practically impossible for the maps to be made manually. I mean, there's no way to predict where battles will be fought since it's all up to the persons decisions. So therefore the maps would have to be auto-generated. Of course I'm sure it will be possible to have areas where the maps could be handmade. Or am I wrong about this, heck its been so long I forget. Anyway we can get an official word on this?
  21. I just tried the Whirlwind of Vietnam chopper sim(see thread bumped). I got really bad performance from the game. But from the limited playtime I had with it, it seemed ok. Although, I'm no chopper sim vet, this was my first one. But if anybody wants to give this game a try I'd be willing to ship it to them, you pay the shipping(3$) though.
