Could be a bum dl link, i.e. downloading 2k drivers mislabeled as xp drivers. Where are you dling the drivers from and have you tried other places to dl? Also this is from the Nvidia site: Driver Installation Hints "Download Accelerator" utilities should be disabled when downloading any drivers. Do not run virus protection software in the background while installing the drivers. This prevents the driver from configuring itself properly.

I asked about more floating icon types, like a sniper icon. This was Steves response from the huge "the road ahead" thread. IMO the floating icons are underused for CMSF. The icons could be tweaked to show, as Cpt. Wasp said, whether a unit is hidden or not. But it could also show more like morale and the command link. It'd be great to see all this at a mere glance of the battlefield. I also like the idea of getting a more detailed info box like hitting the enter key for the CMx1 games.

Wow, it's getting amazing review scores as well. Chalk up another game on my games-to-get-when-I-get-new-PC list. So is this essentially Oblivion in a post-apocalyptic world? And no I haven't read a review yet since I still haven't gotten a new PC.

Yeah I noticed this earlier today as well. Anybody hear anything from COG? In case you guys in the CMBB forum missed it, there's been lots of talk about the new BF file depot. Thread is here. Not sure if this has anything to do with CMMODs being down. But Moon did mention the beta site could be up in as short as a week.

Ok glad I read the second page in this thread. Otherwise I was gonna ask c3k if he had been smoking crack. I mean really, delaying the game because of the scenario listing interface. Nice TIC post with a very valid point I think we can all agree on.

I have no idea, haven't played it that much. I guess I just can't get into these types of games. IMO micromanaging is not fun, it's a chore. I just don't have the time nor the patience for this stuff.

Interesting how this happen about a week before the election. I suppose now McCain will follow suit and tell us how he will keep us protected from the "evil doers".

Very good point and I guess I'm not the only one with performance issues. Also tried it in IE with similar results. Oh well, it's still certainly playable though.

Anybody know what would cause Flash to behave so poorly? I also experienced slowdown for that fantastic contraption game we were playing awhile back.

Finally got around to trying out the new MN update. It is good, I do like the Arad/Irid redone. Same basic map but feels fun again in the desert setting with different tanks.

I'm getting poor performance with FireFox. But this is a fun and addictive little game. Damn you GJK for this time sucker.

Damn FreeSpace 2 was a great game. I never did play the first one. I remember searching high and low for a modern Wing Commander type game. And FreeSpace 2 fit the bill and then some. Still got my copy!

I'll post there too even though I don't have Vista yet. I think this should really get a lot more attention here. I motion to make a sticky in both AK/BB and CMC forums entitled "Help make Nvidia fix their Vista drivers" or something like that. Include the above link in the thread and Redwolfs clarification. If we make enough noise there's at least a chance this will get fixed with future drivers. I hate see a great series of games get phased out unnecessarily and too early. Ok, so the 9000 series cards have the same problem, anybody know about the newer GTX cards?

So this thread leads me to the next question. Does the CMx1 games work on the newer 9000 series and also the even newer GTX Nvidia cards? I plan on buying a new system and certainly won't bother with the 8000 series.

Nevermind, I just realised my CD is the latest version 1.202. Odd though as it gives me the wrong message saying my license key is invalid. Would of been nice if it told me I was already updated. Thanks anyway Teutonic.

This is great to hear no doubt. By the way, I'm sure this has been mentioned(long thread), but wouldn't a small amount of ads pay for this. Since you guys will get a helluva lot more traffic than COG gets. I know most don't mind minimal ads as long as it remains free. Good to hear COG and GJK weigh in on this. But it shouldn't come out of your own wallet COG. Which is why the common "If it ain't broke don't fix it" comments aren't fair IMO. Sure it's not broke because we're all getting it for free while somebody else pays for it. Bandwidth isn't free and it certainly won't be cheap at the magnitude BFC needs.

I'm certainly liking WaW much better. Primarily due because it's turn-based and it seems to be a little simpler. Which in my case is exactly what I wanted. I just noticed the game went back up to $12.90, I got it on the midnight madness sale for only $3.90. I love GoGamer.com

Ok I finally got the game, just played through the tutorials. Sadly no manual came with my boxed game, gotta .pdf of it though. Also having trouble patching to the latest version 1.202. It keeps saying invalid license key. So I'm stuck with the default install. But I can definitely see myself getting into this game.
