Progess Report/Release Date? (Lurkers Abound)
MeatEtr replied to MeatEtr's topic in Combat Mission Campaigns
Kool, the lurkers are coming out of the woodwork. Time for a thread title change. -
Awesome, another solid scenario from Abbot. I've played most of your scenarios and have enjoyed them. Very playable for both H2H or against the AI. Thanks!

CMMods.com Update Pt. V (02/03/06) IT'S UP!!!
MeatEtr replied to ColumbusOHGamer's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
It's not coming up for me. Is it down again? -
Which is why i prefer CMBB to CMAK. Dust thrown up by missed shots from the shermans is why they aim and lose LOS and not fire at all. Although your example is probably in the extreme(very bad luck), but it certainly does happen. It's kinda cheesy for tank battles to be decided by who gets lucky missed-clouds-of-dust shots. That sure is a good example of a bad CM moment though. I don't have any bad CM moments myself, since i never lose and hardly take any casualties.
-
Wow, this one brings back memories from several years ago when cmbo first came out. Actually, the LOS tool makes the game a helluva alot more easier and intuitive to play.
-
David, Oh yes, those are very good. But they don't include all the Panther types available in game(IIRC Gurra did three models while there are five or six in all). Zwolo </font>

Progess Report/Release Date? (Lurkers Abound)
MeatEtr replied to MeatEtr's topic in Combat Mission Campaigns
Kool, thanks alot for the response. Just wanted to hear something or anything about the progress. Very much looking forward to it. Thanks again. Btw, are there any plans for a demo of sorts, if possible? -
IIRC, he fixed that shortly after the release of the mod. Were you among the first to download it? Try downloading a fresh version(fixed) now from CMMODs. Or you have already tried that and I'm completely wrong. Just booted up CMAK and mine look fine in there, don't have this version in CMBB. Are there separate versions? Ok, on to a semi-related topic. MikeyD, what other mods you have in the works? If you don't mind me asking. There a axis AFV that's just begging for a amazingly-beautiful-awesome-MikeyD-overhaul. It would get double exposure too in BB and AK, no renumbering too, i think. It's gotten very little attention too, only a few mods for it, of course not to your caliber quality. The AFV is none other than the massive HE chucker known as the 'Brummbar' or the nickname of the Bear. I know your a busy fella and all, but just wanted to shine a little light(get your attention) on this beast.

Progess Report/Release Date? (Lurkers Abound)
MeatEtr replied to MeatEtr's topic in Combat Mission Campaigns
But, now wait a minute. So when the progress report is ready, will that mean the release date be released for the releasal of the game? Or, could the game possibly be released at the secretive releasal date of 'when its ready'? -
Well, it's been about 3 months since the announcement back in mid-October. I was just wondering if there was a release date set yet? Or maybe a ballpark figure. If not, oh well, no biggie, still looking forward to it. Sorry if this has been discussed already. A couple of my CMBB buddies and myself are curious about this add-on/expansion pack of sorts. Mortars do the darndest things...
MeatEtr replied to yoursweatersux's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Well put, i was just going to mention this. Btw, is it possible to score a gun damage from mortar? I wasn't aware of this, I surely haven't seen it. I certainly disagree. Although it mostly depends on the circumstances. Using a mortar crew to button up or even possibly(if lucky) bag the TC is worth the ammo. Just keep the mortar out of LOS and use a HQ to direct fire. That way, nobody is exposed and you don't have to reveal the positions of infantry or an MG. -
Attrition vs. Maneuver
MeatEtr replied to Cuirassier's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
I certainly consider that a fact, not an opinion. Btw, great thread in here. I say we need a head-2-head battle for a great ender to this discussion. Also followed by an AAR. How bout it? Any takers? Lets get some wages going, I'll put $10 bucks on JasonC. Who's gonna take him on? Then the winner will face his true test of wargaming, by facing MeatEtr's MeatGrinder. Yup, that's right. -
Special Forces options in CMSF
MeatEtr replied to Homo ferricus's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
LOL, thats a great idea. The best idea since sliced bread. I needed a good laugh, thanks. -
Is this use of human wave gamey?
MeatEtr replied to GAGA Extrem's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Yeah they do a get a small morale boost. I think the actual morale boost comes at the run phase of the order, not sure though, i could be wrong. Nonetheless, either way, i don't consider it gamey at all. Your infantry will take much more casualties doing the "human wave" rather than a "move" or "advance" order. Since they'll be a little more reluctant to hit the deck and sneak to cover when they probably should so earlier. -
I like the Shootout shows, lots of details. I think I've seen most that have aired so far. This France episode was pretty decent. Although the BoB episode of storming the guns is seriously getting old. I mean, how many re-enactments of this firefight do we need to see? Although, in BoB they didn't seem to take as many casualties as in this show. Also no mention of Winters giving orders to finish off the 2 wounded germans. Also the Graignes part was already done before. The History channel did a hour long show of it. Forgot the name of the series, maybe Battlefield Detectives. Surely there was many other firefights that could of got a part in the show. Kind of a bummer to see the rehashes.

Hehe, thank god I'm not the only one. Once again, i feel at home, nice and cozy, at the BFC site.

**MikeyD’s Super-Mega JAGDTIGER Mod!!!**
MeatEtr replied to MikeyD's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Wow, camo or no-camo, i don't give two ****s. This WORK OF ART simply demands to be downloaded and praised. You rock MikeyD! -
Huh, what? No link to your scenario? What gives? You mean to tell me i have to actually click on my favs tab and scroll through my favs to find the proving grounds link? Damn, lifes a bitch. Seriously though, just dled your scenario, looks like fun, gonna start it tonight after work. Thanks fella.

C'mon now, don't you think your asking for a bit too much here. Your being a little too picky, at least be reasonable about it. You ask for 6 sugars, when clearly 4, tops, should be enough. I mean, c'mon, get real, who needs all that sugar anyway?

Introducing an all new interface mod !
MeatEtr replied to Tarkus's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Don't you guys just hate that? Somebody bumps an old thread and tricks everybody into thinking it's new. I wonder how many came to the CMBB forums recently and thought, (oh wow, omg, Tarkus made a new UI mod, YES YES, i cant wait to see it) and then (clicks on the thread and    ), ancient news. What a letdown. Damn you Winecape, thats the 2nd time now. I say let the noobs dig up mods like everybody else does, by using CMMODS very easy search function. -
Whoa, whoa, wait a minute here. MikeyD, did you make some sky mods? Did i miss this release or what? I still use Undaunted's excellent sky mods, but would love to try out yours. Gonna go check out CMMODS!

**MikeyD tackles Muted Grass & Terrain!**
MeatEtr replied to MikeyD's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Your terrain is looking great. I'd say when it comes to modding CM, you can do pretty much anything you want to do and do it very well. I'm gonna go download it and give it a try. Thanks. Btw, MikeyD, in this thread, several threads down, somebody is asking about your ATG mods you did way back in ,03. I was also curious about them too. Here's what he said: -
Here's the linky-dinky-do. Nothing really new that hasn't been said here before. But figured some would want to read it. Although i wasn't aware of that, thought it was planned for first quarter 2006. Oh well, no big deal.
-
Hell yeah, looking forward to this add-on/expansion game or whatever their calling it. Ok, so where's the pre-order line at? I'm already willing to pluck down some money for this one. Thanks Jagd Panzer Software. [ October 14, 2005, 09:54 AM: Message edited by: MeatEtr ]
