  1. "3. Decrease tank crew spotting capability (especially where tanks are buttoned and use a gradient scale dependent on the crew's experience)." IIRC BF has done a rough fix where the tank can't react to infantry for a longer period of time... hopefully giving the same effect as above. (I guess there may be programming issue re "spotting capability" changes??) The slow rotation speeds of tanks is odd when we have so many video of tanks rotating very quickly when they have to. Not all RL tank combat is in the worst conditions, which seems to be the argument for slow rotation. Sure, there may be risk of throwing a track, but in an emergency...?
  2. From another thread: Very fast one track 90 degree Panther pivot.
  3. Notice the one track 90 degree pivot speed on that Panther?!!!
  4. I remember that train diorama. The train models were huge - the troops were GI JOE size, and hundreds of em. Must have cost tens of thousands (but who is counting?). Yeah, BFC really need to charge us a LOT more for all the money they have saved us in other games and models we no longer need to buy.
  5. Oooops. Sorry. Yeah. the rifles look great... (Um... maybe a bit too great - like too clean and untarnished. Can you do scratches, patches of dirt etc?)
  6. The faces of troops are amazing. I especially likes the train pic. Always wondered why there has never been a WW2-era trainset kit. Can't be any more groggy than CM, and who doesn't like trains?
  7. Shame about the washed out pics. I thought that was some preference of yours. The "natural" pic above looks great. Lovely map.
  8. It would be interesting to have BF give us a choice of prices so they could see how many units they would have to sell to make a profit. eg: $50 with "x" quantity; $100 with "y" quantity etc. I think some of us would be prepared to spend more than BF currently charged if that meant getting a game topic that especially interested us (I know I am fortunate). There is certainly no other company developing anything similar. I had a hankering for strategic games and recently bought two of Gary Grigsby's classics: War in the Pacific and War in the East. Something like $80 each and they are now old games(!)
  9. Blimey, I initially thought "Amazing that my BoB club get to be so closely watched re its membership... "
  10. The challenge with the bottom pic is that the plain helmet doesn't have as much 3D appearance as the others. Maybe some damage or scratches etc might help? I dunno what it takes, but maybe some work with graduated shadows??
  11. I expect there is no chance for NA module until after the earlier East Front modules are complete. That way BF would have all the '40-'43 German equipment already made.
  12. If you can find angles that lose the awful "edge of tabletop" look, the video is good.
  13. How urgently do you need feedback? If you can't find anyone who can 100% do it this week, I would be happy to help.
  14. The faded look works really well. It's obviously harder to give plain helmets that "worn, used" look.
  15. That was fun. Loved the music. Any idea how does one record that into a file one can put in a Z folder??
  16. Folks don't realize that the abstract discussion we enjoy having here are quite different when you have RL family on the line. I hope yours all stay safe (and off the streets).
  17. If CM:RT mines are the same as the west front games, you need to move thru em SLOW to be confident of minimal casualties. Shame we can't eliminate mines like we could in CM1, but I recognize that is more of an operational than a tactical action.
  18. Not to Mention Band of Brothers, the club as well as the series.
  19. Very happy that there will be a new Ambush routine. Thank you...
  20. Note that we cannot assume that the graphic "stance" we see in the game is actually what the pixeltruppen are doing (as opposed to what is being calculated by the engine). eg: Guys using binoculars and can't spot units one action square away etc.
  21. From milgames: http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2014/03/06/the_battle_for_lviv_war_game_orange_crush_ukraine
  22. Agreed. Not one of the more urgent issues for me either. But, it's good to be able to air ideas on a regular basis, as things change. I think the CM2 system is now pretty good and the only gameplay items that would be great to address are the LOS weirdness (re MG's seeing but not being able to fire at targets, and pathing issues. However, it seems that both of those are huge programming challenges. So, I hope that BF's main effort will go to making gameplay more efficient - especially as scenarios get larger. eg: Selectable waypoints, one click 180 degree arcs (both of which we used to have in CM1 or earlier CM2 versions), plus some way to easily identify teams from the same squad (colored borders?).
  23. Not sure if it was mentioned b4, but the issue of natural gas which Russia supplies Europe with via a pipeline that runs thru Ukraine may add another wrinkle. Europe needs the energy, altho' could find another source given time, but Russia needs the money.
  24. "...how about the programming effort to implement "re-crewing with skill restrictions" does not make it worth the effort." Agreed, that is always a very important consideration in every suggestion ever posted. But, that's not what we were talking about, that is not what was said, and are you saying that you know for certain that "...the programming effort to implement "re-crewing with skill restrictions" does not make it worth the effort."
