  2. You don't understand my point. The TC in open hatch is literally a couple feet above the gunner and the main gun. So, the TC can see a target while the gun is blocked.

What I can't understand is a CO taking an expensive sniper rifle that requires specialized training to use well and handing it to a Green bloke, who probably just graduated from Conscript school. Green snipers are almost worthless. Now I am upset, this should speed up recovery - hold on... gotta rush to puke and poop...
  5. My point is that I have replayed this mission many times with different tactics/strategy - and none worked. Hence my frustration and asking for help. So, far no one has been helpful at all.
  6. "commander saw, but gunner couldn't" You are aware that the CO has a higher view than the gunner, and that the main gun may have been unable to shoot the target regardless of what the CO orders.

  8. Came down with a norovirus over the weekend. Not nearly as much fun as you'd think. Will take a look at the mission as soon as have energy.
  9. The reason I found your philosophy a bit strange is that if one just gave up, one would never finish Courage and Fortitude campaign without many replays or some of the missions. However, the final mission in C&F was one of the best I have ever played. A huge mission with all the toys in the CM2 toolbox. With this Nijmegan mission I keep thinking if there some major tactical error I am making, or is it a mission where one has to do everything exactly right at exactly the right time.
  10. Jeez, is it so weird to want to complete a campaign one has invested dozens or even hundreds of game hours in? I have already attempted this mission at least 6 times plus many other CF's so I could restart a few minutes earlier. Clearly the mission can be won. But, what's the trick?
  11. Thanks for the updated mod. Note, I have fast broadband, but it took over 7 mins to download the file from this site(!). Not a good place to acquire files from. Suggest folks use CMMODS or FGM or similar trusted sites.
  12. I posted a question about a problem mission a few days ago. But, can't find it. So, apologies in advance if this is a repeat. Having a big problem with mission #15 or #16 - where the US airborne defends vs a massive German assault on a town (with a blown up bridge). Have replayed this at least half a dozen times and restarted it another dozen and I cannot get a win - which unfortunately I need to not get kicked out of the campaign. Help appreciated.
  13. Yeah, a goose or two (for noisy alarm) and a skunk should do the trick for ideal and green Home Defense. Cheaper and less likely to have a short circuit or get hacked.

  15. Home Defense BioChem is cheaper and the raw materials are easier to get eg: cabbage.
  16. Yes, that is exactly what was meant. Thanks for the clarification. BTW: I have seen AT units given nothing more than a QUICK move command, see a tank that I hadn't noticed, stop on their own AI volition, aim and fire their bazooka at the tank (and kill it) b4 resuming the original QUICK move order. Wonderful when that happens.

  18. Re Nijjmegan campaign. Have loved this campaign and am on 2nd to last mission (I think) where the US paras have to defend a village by the wrecked bridge against a massive German assault. Have played this mission over 6+ times and with lost of saves and restarts after a massive loss of units. But, I cannot figure out how to get the final objective in the town, and always lose - so the campaign ends and I can't finish the camp. Please... any hints on strategy or tactics on how to win the defend vs enemy assault???
  19. Thanks for the reminder. +1 for one-click 180 degree arc as well. Surely everyone has to set covered arcs all the time when moving turreted AFV's. The old CM1 method was SO much faster (and easier).

  22. My take is that db_zero is referring to AT teams, not AFC's. I made a very similar post about the desirability of an infantry version of "Shoot 'n Scoot" for AT teams in particular. Due to the short range of handheld AT weapons, once they shoot, they are easily spotted and killed. It would be great to have them automatically withdraw to a desired fallback position after shooting. The problem with using Delays is that it is MUCH harder/ possibly impossible to judge how long it will take an AT team to acquire and shoot. Snipers are easier to handle with simply delay commands since they should only be used at ranges over 500m and they make less smoke when firing so can stay hidden much more easily. So, +1 for an inf AT team "Shoot 'n Scoot" command.
