  1. My security blocks em and also stops me downloading like there is something else lurking there. I like my security as I have never had problems. So I trust it more than your d/l site. Am suspicious of all sites other than CMMODS and FGM etc.
  2. The problem is that the site wants one to allow a pop up on one's computer and one had to be crazy to allow anything messing with a clean system, Why not use CMMODS or similar - why expect folks to take the risk of giving access to our machines for marketing or whatever?
  3. ZoneAlarm and AVG can do that as well.
  4. Oooh I like the look of the AK 400. When is that available at Costco?
  5. MOW appeals to a different market - the wrist twitch action fans who prefer action and are not concerned about how the game reflects reality. The CM series has always appealed to the more cerebral types who want more of the illusion of reality.
  6. I can understand that as eye candy, but can your really affect the programming so that the TC is harder to kill???
  7. I just noticed how the Russian TC in a T-34/76 leans to his left in order to see around his hatch. Such a tiny graphical detail, but looks great eye candy. Kudos to whomever did that lovely bit of work.
  8. +1 Also, if you enjoy very large battles, "Thunder Over Ponyri" is wonderful - esp mission #2.
  9. Amazing, I thought that I was the only one to prefer that method of back massage.
  10. Try using MG's 'Undeployed" - they should be able to see/shoot out of the windows.
  11. Wow - I knew Umlaut/Koh had done a lot, but seeing them all in a list... Amazing effort.
  12. Yes, same thing happens with some MG's (IIRC Red forces in CMSF etc) if the crew insists on lying on the ground.
  13. Jeez Cman - I wasn't thinking of you or any specific designer. Just saying "so sad" that for some reason no one wants to do a Mosul scenario. It's not always about you, y'know. A shrink would call that "projection". Take a chill pill, man. I used to enjoy designing for CM1, but I have no talent or passion for the much greater time and effort it requires to design for CM2. I couldn't even get thru your tutorial - which brilliantly demonstrates the frightening complexity of designing for CM2 and why so few new scenarios are being designed!! Respect... for you designers. (Looking forward to anything you do. btw.) SS: Can definitely help with writing. Have no idea what specific units are involved. Thought that's wot you grogs are informed abaht. My professional estimation would be Iraqis and ISIS with a very few elite US spec ops thrown in.
  14. Well, if we actually ever get a Mosul scenario it might be useful. Not holding my breath at this point.
  15. +1 Downloading from weird sites is a turn-off. My security software goes nuts.
  16. You have to come visit this exotic suburb of London to appreciate...
  17. They could test it on Acton. That area could do with complete redevelopment.
  18. Thank you. Are these suitable to use for winter scenarios in CMRT and other CM2 titles?
  19. I like the birdsong one. Very relaxing... so it wakes you up when shooting starts.
  20. I would avoid getting involved in political rows. These forums should be a safe and FUN place for GAMERS to be ENTERTAINED and to chat about the CM2 GAME.
  21. There was a high % chance the units would never be seen again - so it was very risky. Units were basically teleported to a location and you couldn't determine exactly where they would appear if at all. Was interesting to attempt once, then never used again.
  22. Wish they'd shown pics of the models. Love the painted miniatures when done well. I bought and entire Brit 1944 Armored Div - all painted and mounted on magnetic bases - many years ago. After CM came out been stored safely untouched. Still got em somewhere.
  23. "...can be given a chance to regroup, receives a hot shower or bath, a fresh uniform, a hot meal, priceless uninterrupted sleep, support from a bunch of sources and always be given the repeated, no nonsense expectation he will soon return to his buddies. "Yes, you're kind of banged up now, but you'll be going back to your unit in a bit after we get you sorted out. Won't that be nice? Don't worry. You'll be fine." I need this TLC after visiting my mother.
  24. No there was something odd going on. My understanding in previous CM2 versions is that after a fire strike is already FFE, only then can a spotter call another while the first fire is falling. However, IIRC a single spotter can't call extra strikes immediately after putting in a request BEFORE FFE is underway. In my example, I checked a spotter who had made a fire request. Usually any additional arty batteries will have SPOTTER BUSY written on the icon. In my case I was able to select a 2nd arty piece and put down a fire location immediately. I thought that weird, so I deselected the battery, and only then I was unable to select a 2nd arty battery. I deselected the FO altogether and then re-selected the same FO and again even tho' he had just called in a strike, I was again able to select a 2nd battery etc. Tried that a few times - same result. Wasn't sure if this was an update due to v4 so I asked here.
