  1. Well if it is normal to have brand new-looking materiel even after a few weeks fighting, no problem. Was just checking...
  2. Much better than the recent "Churchill" in which Brian Cox portrayed Churchill as a bit of a doddering old man out of touch. Mind you that was set around the time of D-Day, so not sure what Churchill was like by then. He did shockingly lose the election in July 1945 so clearly was not as well loved by other Brits by then. Will see if I can locate "Gathering Storm" - HBO I think.
  3. I understand... My thought is that since you have wonderful uniforms and vehicles with wear and tear, that you are creating a "world" where fighting has been going on for at least some days or probably weeks. So, some scratches and a little scuffing would look better than the "brand new from factory" look.
  4. We tried doing team games in CM1 days and it didn't work well. All it took was for one person to have an interruption or other commitment and things fell apart. Having a reserve pool of players didn't help.
  5. Is there a version for the latest CMFB?
  6. I should have mentioned that "Dunkirk" is also a brilliant movie. Completely different in style to "Darkest Hour". But "Darkest Hour" and "Dunkirk" are wonderful companion films that combined together make an xnt historical narrative of those desperate days in May 1940 when Britain stood alone on the precipice of annihilation - both movies executed in a very dramatic and emotionally charged manner. Great filmmaking, informative and very entertaining. Must sees. If you can, see "Dunkirk" in IMAX. It's definitely worth it.
  7. Looks very nice. Question: Are they really that "clean" when deployed in RL? Would have expected some camo covering.
  8. Also, I think we're witnessing a tanks' ESP ability to spot infantry as the soldier would be completely out of sight of any of the tank's periscopes or vision slits.
  9. Before you panic, I would recommend redoing the installation very carefully. It's complex and one can easily make an error.
  10. Saw this as it opened last night. Brilliant film dealing with the weeks in May when Churchill took over the crisis. Similar in intensity to DOWNFALL (Hitler in the bunker). Very good performances and emotional as one could feel the growing panic as British leaders started to fear total collapse and loss of entire army at Dunkirk. Great speeches by Churchill of course as he attempts to rally the panicking leadership and deal with his own fears and doubts. Highly recommended.
  11. Thanks for the great story. And a shame that wasn't on video.
  12. Just started playing perhaps the last huge CM1 tourney battle organized by WeBOB with over a Regiment inf on each side plus a company or two of AFV's on a (modest for CM1) 3Kmx 3Km map. Anyone interested: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/webandofbrothers/invitiation-to-participate-in-bb13-round-4-t19054.html
  13. Remember it well. I was a kid living in Middlesex at the time. (But in the slums.)
  14. That little hatch that opens at the back of turret to let the spent cartridges out looks fragile. What happens if it gets jammed and you fire the main gun?
  15. Ok, so MRAP does seem to have some other serious problems as well. Makes sense. Altho' get a lowrider version and it would be useful in LA traffic.
  16. The point is that "one never knows" what the future will require. Dismayed at the waste of my tax dollars. Hell, they could at least give me one.
  17. Am happy with 60 seconds as well. However, my philosophy is that is players want more choices then why not? Of course it's also a factor of BF resources and what are the priorities for improvements.
  18. Was just curious why so many would be scrapped unless they were ineffective. The AF keep all their planes for spare parts etc.
  19. Just curious. I thought SOP was to mothball and keep equipment for the "next time". Are the MRAPS considered ineffective?
  20. If you are new to the game system, you may want to get good at scenarios first. However, Campaigns are really the best way to enjoy CM games imo. The best campaigns require a player to practice force and ammo preservation over numerous missions and you often can experience branching "storylines" depending on your success/failure at a mission.
  21. The good news is that if the modder provides alternatives with different numbers or camo they can all appear in the game. However, the graphics are currently chosen by the system at random and that also means that a hull number probably won't match a turret number etc. So, you cannot plan to have a platoon or company all numbered correctly. Hopefully, BF can sort that out for CM3...
  22. Plz let me know if I numbered/named my MG42 wavs correctly in sequence or if I need to renumber the wav with no number to "gun mg42 10.wav" in order to get it to be selected (randomly) in the game. Once we get this definitively correct that format should work for all titles. I think that even some modders get confused as I have seen the sequence done in different ways. PS: I have other MG mods that had x2 and x3 etc. eg: MG34 As I said, I renamed them to remove the "x". But have never been sure I did the correct thing.
