  1. +1 re #2. Perhaps the main problem is that we all use these vehicles at way too short ranges to the enemy. But, that's a map size issue. (Would one use vehicles like a Stryker in a point blank range MOUT op?" re #1 - I also find the (in)accuracy of the AGL's to be odd.
  2. FWIW "Vice" is an xnt movie about Cheney and his early BG. Recommended amidst the mostly mediocre movie offerings out there.
  3. So even if one installs via a USB, one still needs internet to activate? Installing from a USB... does the "installer" contain the whole game - ie: one doesn't need to make any other large downloads(?). That's the main concern when one has slow or dodgy internet.
  4. Thank you... Totally understand your comments that come from your experience... My thought was that if you were on a nearby mission and heard that comrades were in trouble the instinct is to rush to aid. Yes, there would be confusion. But, it's still a potential feature of the scenario. "Things don't go as planned" and "You go with what you got".
  5. Am happy to give BF money now and d/l later when I have time to actually play. Is there a time limit on how long one can wait to d/l a purchased product?
  6. You guys have made some very smart decisions over the years. It's a tribute that BF is one of the very few hardcore wargame sim developers still in business. And the others are doing much less ambitions/interesting/compelling products. Have always internally calculated the value of each CM game family to be in the approx $300 range and with all the modules etc. available that's about right. My concern would be that at the current rate of production it will take a very long time to get to the early war. In the meanwhile, the play experience difference between a 1944 era game and a 1943 era game (ie: a one year difference) is not that appreciable. One of the great features of CM1 was the ability to fight Barbarossa one day and a 1945 scenario the next. It kept things fresh. Of course we all understand that while CM1 was unbelievably fabulous value for customers it is not a commercially viable biz model for BF. The dream has been that one day we would have 1941 to 1945 products all available at the same time. If the CM2 engine is still viable 5+ years from now maybe we'll get there. But, it could take a lot longer than 5 years. Currently, CM2 is effectively 2007 era graphics and despite all the wonderful engine improvements (to me at least) the system offers essentially the same gameplay experience. Now that the CM2 system is 12 years old one has to wonder how many more years can it keep satisfying customers. We all agree that graphics is not what motivates our interest in the CM system. But, at the same time not many of us are playing classic games like "pong" or the 1990's simulations. Am certain that BF has given much thought as to what the next evolution (CM3) will be and when it may be developed. So, there is nothing in what I have said that will be news to you guys. Just wanted to congratulate you on the success of the system but also voice my concern that things have to evolve well before your customer base gets bored.
  7. Am often traveling with no or slow internet. What is the best way to install a CM2 game on a system with no internet? Eg: When one downloads a CM2 product, can that be copied to a flash drive and installed from there? Or, can one copy an installed CM2 game to a flash drive and then to another computer where there is no internet access?
  8. Nice analysis. Another option for quicker reinforcements could be that there is (for example) an engineer team close by working on digging a well/doing sanitation work, or a Special Forces team doing "cultural exchange" in the nearby village close etc. etc.
  9. Am in US mostly, so no problem there. But, you are right of course... after about 140 months playing CM2 I only need to read up on the new IED section on the pdf manual (there is a pdf game manual, yes?). Not much time to play anything currently. Was kinda hoping if I waited a bit the d/l version would include the patch.
  10. Ok, so the new game manual is a pdf with game. That's good enuff 4 me. Can't recall the last time I actually had to open a printed CM2 manual. And after playing CM2 for 12 years I probably only need to read the few new pages re IED's. Glad that's in there as I never understood em b4 either. Thanks...
  11. Nice video. If that's CMA, it's wonderful that it's still viable. I loved the game.
  12. Then, wow...! FWIW I played around with Reshade when it first came out. But, the improvements seemed often combined with less effective visuals. I think one can get good effects by simply playing around with the nVidia graphics settings. So, wondered if you did that.
  13. Yeah, yeah. am getting it. Was just curious whether there is a brand new manual worth buying with it.
  14. Just got back from trip and catching up on the exciting developments. Re buying my upgrade bundle trying to decide whether to buy new manuals. Is the manual (or manuals) the same as the ones we have for CMSF1 or have they been updated?
  15. FWIW I have a zillion CMSF1 mods... So my suggestion is that every time one plays a CMSF2 scenario to only load and test the CMSF1 mods that can appear in that scenario to see if they work (or are even needed - the stock graphics look pretty good). Otherwise it would take weeks or months of full-time work to test all the CMSF1 mods that are available.
  16. Still just trying to catch up on all the posts on this board. You go way with no internet for a few weeks, and of course BF releases a game and a million posts get made.
  17. Well, plz just tell us the myths that are being demolished and save us a lot of time.
  18. "Slated for a Summer 2018 Release". So everyone but me must have one by now.
  19. Xnt - finally a suitable role for XO's other than using em as medics or scouts.
  20. A few days ago. Always sick or damaged as usual lol. The forums have been more busy over the past 4 weeks than over the past several months so it's taking me a few days just to get caught up. Got your mods of course. Great job! Am waiting for you chaps to figure out all the bugs so I can d/l the final updated version.
  21. Thanks Olek. Always appreciate the new mods from you.
