  1. Interesting to convert from CMBO. Thanks...
  2. Checked with my CC co and there were no fraudulent charges subsequent to buying CMSF2 (so far). However, cos I was traveling till a couple weeks ago and only purchased the game last week. So...
  3. Can you post what the sort of fraud charge looks like? Am thinking of calling up my CC pre-emptively.
  4. It's a question of time. Not sure how our societies arrive at the definition, but a "decent" amount of time has to pass b4 one can make (say) movies about certain topics. It's probably the same for statues or memorials. As much as folks may not want to hear or think about it, in a couple hundred years there probably will be statues of Hitler. My family was wiped out by the Nazis. However, revisionism is a very common phenomenon in human history.
  5. When I have time, of course. But, the usual crises requiring focus for a while here.
  6. Good points. Those were brutal eras when life was cheap and death lurked everywhere - primarily from diseases. In the current era we are taught from childhood via TV, movies and school that all life is precious etc. It becomes commonly accepted in our western society. But, other societies are not that way. Life is still cheap and brutal in many (most?) parts of the world for the majority of humans. A concern I have witnessed (in Europe!) with on a ward with people dying is that hospital staff from certain parts of the world do not care. If they come from a culture where life is cheap it is not surprising. I personally stood at a nurses section for several minutes trying to get a glass of water for a dying person, while the nurses ignored me and just continued chatting about their rota and other personal items. FWIW I made a major complaint to the authorities about this behavior - have no idea if anything has changed. Re PTSD and similar... If you have a support system, it's "easier" to break down as you know someone is there to help you. But, if you have no support system, ie are alone and still possibly surrounded by hostility, or at least nobody to help you, then am wondering if one summons up reserves and just carries on. Anyone know if any research has been done on that and what effect that experience of continued duress may have on the personality?
  7. Oh wait, just realized you are talking for modern games like CMSF etc. I was talking about WW2 CMRT etc. That HQS sound mod is confusingly in 3 parts.
  8. Be careful. You are off-topic, again! Hall monitor is probably hovering.
  9. Re uploading individual mods time is the issue as it could take hours, days or more and I travel a lot often with no or unreliable internet. As I said I have close to half a TB of mods for all titles. That's why am talking about sending a SSD with everything for hosting. I suppose if I uploaded a few every now and then that would be practical. But that relaxed method would take a long time (months/year+?) to upload everything including my "Unused Mods" folders. The unused mods are good, it's just that they conflict with other mods and one has to make a command decision which ones one wants to appear in-game.
  10. It would be wonderful to have a deadline for this era. However, probably not possible as many of us have asked similar question for several years. At current rate of development my guestimate is 5+ years. And by then CM2 may well have to be replaced by a CM3 which would have to be a major advance in the art like the difference between CM1 and CM2. But, who knows...?
  11. Hope that is true. But, they are called Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3. Confusing.
  12. Looked thru some of my Z's: Fiat truck (exists, but probably hasn't been shared at all) Semovente 75/18 (doesn’t seem to exist) only found Semo 47_32 Semovente 90/53 (doesn’t seem to exist) SPW 234’s Aris + Bullgod mods exist Sdkfz 233 exists Sdkfz 221 (doesn't seem to exist) 222 and 223 exist Marders (don't seem to exist) Lots of Wespes but surprised no Marders even in Mod Sets M4A1 (mid) CMFI (early Sicily camo) don't know if correct camo, but the model exists CMBN Sexton exists CMBN Sherman I exists CMBN Firefly Ic have an Aris Firefly mod - unclear if exact model Churchill VII (CMGL's IV would works just fine for CMBN) exists CMBN M20 exists
  13. It requires 3 large downloaded. But, I got error messages when unpacking and when I figured out how to finally accomplish that, many files in the 3 large downloads seem to be duplicates. Haven't had time to compare and see if they are identical files or options. There is no readme that explains...
  14. I remember enjoying this scenario as well. The mods help. A jungle noises mod gives the best effect.
  15. That's probably just her food supply for the week.
  16. This gives other outfits, from ancient history to ISIS, justification to destroy statues of any culture that they find offensive. We are appalled by ancient societies who wiped out their enemies' cultural heritage as a way of destroying their societies forever, (in more recent history that's what Hitler was trying to do in the east). What's next? Destroying statues and monuments to the Pilgrims cos of what they did the Indians etc? As said above, we can go back to the dam Assyrians and who knows who came b4 - their statues were probably wiped out.
  17. That's been my experience as well. The good news is that some of the CMSF1 campaigns were outstanding since developers had 5 years with no other CM2 title to distract them. And they became very good at making dynamic campaigns in which it really mattered what the result of a mission was as it would have a direct impact on the following mission(s). So, am not too unhappy at the thought of replaying some of them. I do envy new customers who will experience the CMSF world fresh and with all the bells and whistles (and all those early version bugs ironed out). In particular I remember Road to Dinas - xnt RED vs RED campaign (other than me finding one mission towards the end of the campaign being impossible to win despite restarting it over a dozen times). Zawiya Uprising was another superb RED vs RED campaign. There were many others that were enjoyable but I can't picture em. (I have about 50 campaigns for CMSF1.)
  18. Am thinking of running for school election as hall monitor. So, get back on topic!
  19. This has GOT to be off topic, Hide b4 Hall Monitor shows up!
  20. Obviously it's a question of who decides what is interesting. Reminds me of the happy old days of the Soviet Union. Good times.
  21. Was curious... Can one load up a CMSF1 savedgame from a scenario or campaign in CMSF2 and play normally or does one have to restart the entire thing in CMSF2?
  22. I have the mod thank you. I thought maybe you modified the mod to "tone it down". But, you are simply using the mod less - is that what you mean? (Good job with the scenario btw. Played it a long time ago and it was fun.
  23. When folks say things that are off topic and one responds maybe you should address your concerns to the first poster: "In a fire-fight, atheist's and rivalries in foxholes, don't exist." If you want to be a good and respected hall monitor maybe address the hundreds of posts that seem to be off-topic made all over these forums.
  24. And there is data that trauma suffered by parents affects one on the biological level and the stress/anxiety is passed down to offspring - so it's the gift that keeps on giving through multiple generations. One of the books I have read on this is called "When the Body Says No". Quite textbookie but very interesting.
  25. How long b4 hospitals start doing the same thing? "Sorry, you went to an unapproved doctor, your insurance is now void at this hospital."
