  4. It still takes skill. Most of my mods in CMSF were the same, copy and paste. My portraits are all mostly copy, and pasting, and manipulation, almost no actual drawing or anything. The end product is all that matters and what you have here (and in the other thread) is excellent stuff. A big ^5 for "copy and paste"! Mord.

  6. Yeah, I've spent a lot of time trying to duplicate textures and sounds since CMSF was released. Two that have always been locked down are vehicle sounds and portraits. Just to make sure they didn't slip in something new for RT I went and double-checked and portraits still can only have one of each type. @Fizou; I have some preliminary work done already but it's not looking good for the Soviets as far as patches go. They may not end up being near as detailed as the Germans...which is unfortunate. This is the best that Der Alte Fritz and I have come up with so far for identification markings. http://wio.ru/tank/oz/oz-en.htm Mord.
  7. Check and make sure you don't have an extra space between the soldier part of the name and the number. Mord.

  9. You can only have one of each showing in game at a time, 1 infantry, 1 armor etc. I'd like to see them add some new slots like ranger, TD bats, engineer/pioneer, StuG bats and Heavy Pz Bats...which would allow for a bit more flexibility when units are attached. Mord.
  10. You could tag them but you can't have multiple faces going for German infantry or anything like that. It's one portrait per type at a time. I'd like to see a couple new slots like engineer, ranger, StuG bats, Heavy PZ bats, and TD bats added. Mord.

  12. The mod just changes the bmps. The actual red text is somewhere in the code and is placed on top of the weapon picture when someone gets hit. It may be possible that you could open one of those code files and change the red text to something else (kinda like how Vin does his mod) but how that is done is way beyond me. Mord.
  13. I checked these out and they look really good. Nice job figuring them out. Man, it would be great if they could be mixed in with helmet textures as well. I wish BFC would allow us to do that. Mord.
  14. You get used to it and once that happens you'll never want to go back to the CMX1 way. It's all muscle memory. Trust me. The new way is WAY better. Mord.

  16. Well, technically there are four states when it comes to unit bases, green, yellow (light wound), red (heavy wound), and dark red (dead). With the weapon icon states, red could mean either dead or out of commission. They probably added the words because it would take a lot more bmps to make a red version of all the weapons. The way I described above would be less confusing. A red cross will show your dude is lightly wounded and then the red casualty text will let you know right away a dude is done for without any confusion. Mord.
  17. I am also digging your mod, potem. Actually it was the very first one I loaded into RT. I say make a bunch, people will use what they like. The red in "red thunder" sets off the black and white pics. In my opinion they look cool too. @MeatEtr; that'd be fairly easy to reproduce. You should give it a try. Mord.
  18. It's v100d but it's not gonna work 'cause there are only green and yellow status bmps. If you change all the yellow to red then you will have red weapon pictures when dudes are lightly wounded, which will confuse you more. Juju's mod interface will work better. And if you aren't into that, Marco should be releasing his weapons icons soon. Or you could just pull Juju's icons from his overall mod, that will give you red crosses for lightly wounded, and then red crosses with the red casualty word for heavy wounds. Mord.
