  1. This is funny. I was showing my cousin, CMBN last night, and loaded up Tom's remake of Chance Encounter. I was telling him about the CMBO demos and how we all played them at least 50 times a piece waiting on the full game. And here, the first CMBN scenario with triggers is Last Defense. You can't argue with the classics. Actually, I just got off the phone with him and he said he can't wait to get back to my house tomorrow so he can watch the game get finished. He said he's been thinking about it all day while he's been working. I think he may be CMilated. Mord.
  2. The RT demo is at 3.0. Some of the features for 3.0 probably won't be apparent in the demo like AI Triggers for scenario making...but most of the visual stuff should show, like tank riding, flame stuff, hit decals (worth the ten bucks just for them) etc. Mord.
  3. Both bones are cool! To some people that NVG addition might not be that impressive, but it's these seemingly little things that get added into CM that really make the game shine. I am looking forward to Black Sea, very much. And every time you guys mention something new I keep slobbering thinking about how kickass it will be if it's added to CMSF when it's upgraded. Mord.
  4. So, it's just a matter of changing to 48,000 Khz? I wonder why some wouldn't work? If one wav plays they all should, unless they got damaged. Thanks Buzz. That'll give me something to chew on. There's no way for Mac guys to explode a base game brz is there? Here...for the trip. Good luck. Mord.
  5. A GREAT point that cannot be stressed enough when the "fanboy" card is played. There's been a few people on here that pretend common courtesy and respect while lobbying BFC are just forms of brown-nosing. Maybe products of bad parenting...but I always figured that was how they rationalized acting like king sized Richard noggins. Mord. P.S. My bunker does have anti-curse protection...however I haven't installed the pox upgrade.
  6. Been meaning to ask this for a long while but life got in the way. I have been meaning to do Mac versions of my sound mods for a while now. As far as I know my sound mods won't work on a Mac because the properties are different. So, what are the Mac wav properties listed at? Mord.
  7. You are welcome, man. Let me know what you thought of everything after playing for a while. Mord.
  8. Really, what BFC should do is keep spending months and months upgrading the various titles to the newest edition of the engine...for free. And after about a year go out of business. That way guys will be able to save 10 dollars. That'll teach those EVIL, thieving, price gouging, punks! It's a win win for everyone! Some of you guys can't see any farther than tomorrow...the rest of us are thinking about two years from now and beyond. It's a case of poking out your eyes and lighting your heads on fire to spite your nose. If 10 bucks is all that it takes (per title) to get us to the next level, every year or so, that's a TINY price to pay to have all our titles (or favorite title) on equal footing. If that's what it takes to keep BFC in the black and making the games that a lot of us love, well...what's the alternative, leave the old titles in the dust? I've said it a million times; we got the best deal we could ever get for a wargame—no feature envy—and all some of you guys do is bitch about it. Because waiting ten years for an upgraded version is such a better choice... Name one wargame from 2011 (or 2007 once they upgrade CMSF) that is still being supported by its publisher, RIGHT now...for free. OR only charges 10 bucks for engine upgrades (NOT PATCHES). I can think of one...but it doesn't upgrade at the cost of 10 bucks and goes for 115. BFC is a damn loyal company, I've never once felt ripped off by them. Because I know (and they proved it with CMSF) that they'll stand by us and their games, even if sometimes we have to argue to get something changed. I don't know of too many companies that care that much about the players where they spend as much time debating/listening/applying what came up in the discussions. It's one of the reasons I've been participating for going on 14 years. They are a small company, and pack more game play in a CM title than most multi-million dollar companies put into their latest blockbuster releases. If we need to shell out a few extra bucks here and there to keep our games fresh...so be it. It's been WAY beyond worth it for the hours of enjoyment I've received. And yeah, yeah, yeah...I know...I'm a fanboy. All that rational thinking gave it away. Mord.
  9. Thanks, man. Yeah, I did quite a bit for CMSF. It's what I cut my modding-teeth on. I am not real good at the art stuff so I ended up with quite a few sound mods. The others were creative cutting and pasting mixed with some hex editing. Bring on the new modern! I miss all the gadgetry. Mord.
  10. This is the best one for red on red civil war type scenarios. It gives the Uncons a bit more fire power—makes a nice companion piece to the Mixed Combatants. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=2283 Mord.
  11. A lot of you guys have taken modding to the next level with what you have been doing in RT. It's amazing. Really nice looking stuff, umlaut. Urban destruction is really taking on what I'd always hoped it would. These are almost like the set-piece ruins I have been dreaming of. I hope BF pays attention to what you have done and can incorporate the ideas in future products. Kickass! Mord.
  12. You have been doing some magnificent work, Kieme (here and with RT). Keep it up. It's nice to see CMSF getting some love. Mord.
  13. You are very welcome. My pleasure. Check this out... Ok. I went and made it easier for you. I uploaded MikeyD's dirty Abrams/Bradley mod to my dropbox. I put in Marine versions of the Abrams and Humvee. All you have to do when you wanna play a Jarhead scenario is put the Marine folders in your z folder. Just make sure you don't have any other Abrams/Humvee Mods in there. Or Rename the Marine folders with a z in front and it will take precedent over the others. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gty68irhf5kk0y7/Marine%20Mods.zip Here are some more of my mods that I think really help with the atmosphere for CMSF; Use when playing an insurgent heavy scenario. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=539 Good screams http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=536 Professional Uncons. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=537 Mixed combatants...some wearing head wraps, others not. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=1505 The face versions aren't even close to being as good as the CMBN/CMFI mods...but the other pics in the mod are pretty good. I use the singles. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=846 Yeah, you will definitely like MG and CMFI. BF hasn't released a CMX2 game/module yet I haven't loved. It'll probably be at least a year before we hear anything about the CMSF upgrade but it's gonna be sweet when we do. I have a huge spot in my heart for it. I really like Afghanistan too. It's REALLY cool being able to jump between different timelines, wars, and theaters! Hope you and your buddies enjoy the globe and anchor mods! Mord.
  14. Yep. This one. Goes great with Juju's UI mod. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=2923 Mord.
  15. Thanks. The vehicle radio chatter really adds to the atmosphere. Those two mods are some of my best work, in my opinion. Well, next to that last set of portraits me and DC did. I can't wait until they start work on the CMSF upgrade. Seeing it in 3.0 (or whatever version we will be at by that point) is gonna kickass! Mord.
  16. How's this? Here's the link to the turret file. https://www.dropbox.com/s/97etthcc84hhm8i/m1a1-turret.bmp Download it and put in you z folder when you are playing a Marine scenario that uses tanks. The turret is from MikeyD's Dirty Abrams/Bradley mod so it will go best used with that mod. I can't find it off hand so you'll have to find it in the repos or maybe someone can locate it for you. Here's a couple of my mods that will increase your sound FX immersion. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=549 http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=562 Enjoy. Mord.
  17. Seems we have all kinds of building modders now. Excellent. Very nice looking, Ben. You are another one of those fine modders who doesn't mod enough in my opinion...but boy, when you do! Mord.

  19. Modular buildings are like a construction set. You can combine buildings to create bigger buildings, or buildings with more shapes, or place them separately and just have a single building. Mord.
  20. I did, in CMBN. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=101135&highlight=bogging&page=9 Pertinent posts are about 83-85. http://ftp2.battlefront.com/community/showpost.php?p=1326374&postcount=83 Mord.
  21. Great job, Kieme. I haven't had time to actually play but the screen shots are just beautiful. I look forward to using all your buildings when I have time for another battle. You are up there with the top modders. Mord.
  22. Some buildings have a damaged texture set that appears after they've been taking fire for awhile but there are no individual bullet hole decals for them, or trees. Vehicles won't register any damage below AT rifles I believe...SMGs, rifles, and pistols don't cause impact damage. I think Juju is thinking of the sound FX impacts and missed that you were looking for "visual" impacts. Mord.
  23. Steiner14...the gift that keeps on giving...paranoid, angry, and just itching for the chance to release his inner Adolf. For all of you that weren't aware the the Germans didn't really lose the war...they've been conducting a tactical withdraw for the last 70 years. Mord.
