  1. My vulgarities broil through the Mid Atlantic as well...just about every night...even when CM is off. LOL. Thanks guys. And Peter, I still remember that critique you gave me for the CMSF mod—probably the best response I ever got on a mod. Good luck. Hopefully you can sort this out. Mord.
  2. That's fair enough, Steve. Thanks for the clarification...and don't let any of the negative vibes get you down. A lot of us are really happy with everything thus far. I think I can speak for many when I say we appreciate all that you guys do for us and the game. The future is bright! Mord.
  3. In fairness you left out the part where they do all that and want it for free. The rest of us, demand, btch, and moan BUT expect to pay for it! Mord.
  4. The grey out happened to just about everyone. It seems to correct itself soon as you log off and restart the game. Basically, you have to start the game twice after the 3.0 install. Mord.
  5. Are you using Win 8? If so, I had a warning from Windows after I added my exclusions in Norton. But all i did was click a button that said "allow anyway". Doesn't Win8 have some kind of antivirus/firewall thing? Maybe try disabling that when installing. Look to see if it allows you to exclude stuff like Norton does. Mord.
  6. I can picture one of them right now, flagellating himself even as he adds AI triggers to his older scenarios. "I hate BFC!" *WHACK* "I love BFC!" *WHACK* "I hate BFC!" *WHACK* Now, THAT'S an Uncanny Valley... Mord.
  7. BUT the $14 dollars you pay now will keep keep giving you beer three years from now...actually, it will provide the basis for even more, better beer, three years from now...beer on top of beer on top of beer—with increasingly better taste. As for the 12 pack...three might get drank and the rest will go stale. To be replaced by another 12 that go stale...and another...and another. So, is this finally the death of the car analogy? Mord.
  8. LOL. Not for me! HDs were my #1 (never had in any version of CM) feature wish! But ian is right, maybe "game immersion changer" is the optimal term. Anyway, now it's gonna taken even longer to review a turn when something cool happens. Mord.
  9. Mines fine, too. Did you completely remove the mods out of the data folder? Mord.
  10. So, your troops have a Christ complex, huh? If it ain't a mod you are definitely gonna have to run a clean install. It's the only way to figure it out. Good luck my man! mord.
  11. Here's another test for CMFI. I tried both tests as Hotseat in Iron mode. Both games showed signs water was being crossed. https://www.dropbox.com/s/niil0baxt7zq6p3/%2B%2B%20CMFI%20WATER%20TEST.btt BTW I don't know if there were supposed to be any fixes in the Upgrades but we are still getting guys sticking out the bottoms of the Marder IIIM and Marder II in CMBN, and Grille, Marder II, and IIIM in CMFI. Mord.
  12. Now, that the upgrades are out are you guys gonna let us in on the surprises you mentioned? Mord.
  13. That's the thing, people will blow money left and right on absolutely nothing without batting an eye and here we have something tangible that is continuously being built upon, that we can enjoy in a myriad of ways for years, and they get upset about spending a tiny amount over a year or so. Like I said, the alternative is what...it's better to just let the older titles stagnate? WTF? Mord.
  14. I'd love that too. After they upgrade CMSF it'll be the forgotten title. I think it is a great game. Mord.
  15. Nope. I just ran a test in CMBN. Here's the file. PW is aa for both sides. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ctr28dpccm2wy7r/%2B%2B%20%2B%2B%20Water%20Test.btt Just give the GIs an order to move across the river. Mord.
  16. No, it's not. It's short sighted whining by people that can't see past their own cheapness. PERIOD. Not one of you guys running your mouths about 10 bucks would EVER work for what you say BFC should...which is for FREE. And you probably wouldn't do an hour's overtime without billing your bosses. It'd be hilarious if it wasn't so sad. It's pathetic and annoying to listen to a bunch of grown humans cry every time an upgrade comes out because they feel that a single purchase from three years ago entitles them to a life time of labor support. Don't like it...don't buy it. Or go play all those other great 3d, squad level, tactical wargames, that keep upgrading their old titles to the newest engine version...FOR FREE. Oh, yeah...I forgot... Mord.
  17. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=116351 Mord.
  18. 'Cept you are not paying for the same product twice. But I highly doubt you use this same logic with your boss when it comes time for him to pay you. You know, after all you were already paid once for the work, so, why pay you again? But like I said to the other guy, when is the last time you worked for three months for 10 bucks? The alternative is that they don't have to upgrade ANYTHING after they feel like the game family has been patched to stability...THEN you won't have to pay a thing...and your title will get old and left behind. Wouldn't that be great? You'll save ten bucks every year! Every time you eat a Whopper meal or rent some movies, buy a six pack, or drop 5 bucks on a scratch off and buy a Big Bite at 711 remember this conversation. Every one of those is a one shot deal that you won't be enjoying five years from now. Perspective is a helluva thing. Mord.
  19. How much "content" do you provide in one day, for ten bucks? How long will that content last your employer or the people that deal with your employer? NOW, when's the last time you worked three months for ten bucks? Three years from now will that ten bucks worth of work still be viable to those that paid you? Mord.
  20. It's happening in CMFI as well. I was running a test last night for the hit decals and it showed up soon as the targeted vehicle was knocked out. Actually, I was thinking about starting a thread on this very topic. EDITED: Ah, you already did. So, as far as I am seeing, there's no difference on my end. I loaded up the Oosterbeek master map yesterday (pre 3.0) and we estimated it took at least 10 minutes. Later, when I had installed 3.0, I reloaded it and at 8 and a half minutes in I got up and left the room. I just tried again and it took 12 minutes. Mord.
  21. Because 3.0 just came out yesterday. Next year it will probably be absorbed into the main DLs. But they need to make some money from it first. You need to go in and exclude the CMBN installer, desktop exe, and main folders from future scans. That's what I do in Norton. I even had Windows give me a warning last night after I had Norton exclude the new upgrade stuff. It's a PIA but it is what it is. BUT once you do that you'll be fine. Mord.
  22. Well, you can chalk me up as happy. Fire weapons will come in a module. That's pretty much what was discussed way back. I would've expected at least man portable flame throwers in this upgrade but they aren't. So, I'll wait until the module that includes all the flame stuff. It's not that big a deal. I don't care about the tank riding one way or another. The hit decals and triggers were the things I was most excited about seeing added to BN & FI. After that anything else is a bonus. Mord.
