  1. Steve, if you start a thread on how to take a screenshot I'm sure some of us could help you.
  2. Players have to have the same TITLE to play against each other. If they want to play a particular MODULE they both have to have that MODULE, not all of the modules or all the same modules. A and B are two different games and have nothing to do with each other, just like CMBO and CMBB are two different games. From what I have read, the modules for each title may add additional functionality that would probably be retroactive for that title and other modules for that title, but they certainly aren't going to apply to other titles. If the new functionality can be applied to other titles it would likely be introduced with a new module for that game. Steve said these wouldn't be free patches.
  3. From what I can tell, Steve has not said that CMx2 won't allow us to play games with battalion sized forces, but that even the best computers out there won't be able to handle it. We can put all the troops on a map that we want, but our rigs will chug along at an unacceptably slow pace while computing turns and frame rates will drop too low to be enjoyable. Even my 3.6 Ghz processor and 256 MB video card can't really handle the large Stalingrad scenarios from CMBB. Plus, CMx2 is going to have way more under the hood and on the screen than CMx1 did, with 1:1 unit representation, dynamic lighting, more highly detailed vehicles, units, and terrain, and a new spotting system. The data to be crunched and the graphics to be displayed in a company level game in CMx2 may be more than that of a battalion level game in CMx1. Well, AEB said the same thing while I was typing my post.
  4. If it's not Scottish, it's crap! I'd like a ACW game at some point. I was watching the promo video for Histwar™: Les Grognards and thought it looked a lot like a Napoleanic CM game. Ptetty cool.
  5. Congratulations on your Bar Mitzvah.
  6. He's asking about multiple turrets, not double penetration.
  7. Yes, bodies will definitely have to fly through the air. A medic will then briefly hover over the wounded. For KIAs we will see a light wisp rise from the body, representing the soul as it leaves the body. I agree that there should not be any blood in the release version, but the game should be coded so that someone can do a Kill Bill mod.
  8. Aren't there some proteins you can sprinkle into Charles's jar that would take care of that?
  9. Steve, CM is still going to be fun, isn't it?
  10. I've been thinking that the game is going to blow our minds once we see it. We've been told of new features in dribs and drabs, but when the whole picture is revealed I think we are going to be very pleasantly surprised.
  11. As a beta tester for the CMx1 series I can tell you that CMx2 will enter beta testing very soon. By the way, I was responsbile for testing the AI's cheating capabilities and making sure the AI always had a slight advantage in spotting and targeting. I think I did a pretty good job.
  12. Wenn ist das Nunstruck git und Slotermeyer? Ja!... Beiherhund das Oder die Flipperwaldt gersput!
  13. My guess is the new graphics will obviate the need for doodads as we know them. Maybe grass will be represented 1:1.
  14. Tigers??? Tigers??? I guess the first game will be Vietnam. Always stay in the f-ing boat, man. Always stay in the f-ing boat. What about PzIVg?
  15. That reminds me of my first CM "wow" experience. I remember watching at ground leves as my troopies easily advanced against the enemy. Then the sky suddenly opened up and what seemed to be buckets of hell started raining on my men. The gound shook and large clumps of earth erupted all around. When it was over most my men were gone and I was in awe. I don't know if anything will wow me as much as the first time in true 3D combat, but I'm sure BFC will do their best.
  16. One other thing I would like to see: Vehicles can crunch infantry or at least overrun them (i.e. make them displace).
  17. No one expects the Spanish Succession. I just finished reading "The Pirate Coast." The battle of Derne would be a good candidate if BFC can get sailing ships and cavalry coded properly.
  18. I thought it was a pizza and the other guy doesn't like anchovies.
  19. Since the next game probably won't be released until the end of the first quarter of 2006 (wishful thinking) or more likely the second quarter, I wouldn't worry about getting a new computer specifically for CM for quite a while. We probably won't even be using computers by then.
  20. Might be! But also, you want to sell the game to that people...so you might want to comply with what their wishes. This is a sort of market research for you... ...and the results are quite clear. Anything else than WWII would be a quite failure. </font>
  21. It happened a lot in my CC games. Ok, then can we place tanks inside buildings that don't have basements?
