Harken, Dear Sulomon. Sit and I shall spin ye a tale.
Once upon a time there lived a haunted forum full of angry trolls led by an evil Canadian wizard who drew his dark powers from a magical Waffen SS manikin. This cult of personality disorder, bound by their hatred for the light, began predicting the downfall of BF in the year of our lord, 2000 and 7. They'd gather together, under the jaundiced light of a gibbous moon to gnash their teeth and drown kittens, while fantasizing about how Steve was gonna run his company into the ground do to all his bad game making decisions. For a fortnight and a grand age did they conspire and ruminate. During all their dire predictions and dark prophecies did BF persevere; releasing CMSF and it's 3 modules, CMA, CMBN, CMFI, CMRT, CMBS, CMFB, 3 upgrades, 3 modules, double digit patches, 1 vehicle pack and 2 battle packs. 11 years later, the vile Canadian Wizard having been banished to the blackest anus of the internet by the very devils he worshiped, his mutinous followers either turned to stone from years of hate or consumed by the very hellfire in their souls, the forum now consists of one guy who sits around talking to himself. The Wargaming Gods call that irony.
Harken well, dear Sulomon, for there is a moral to this tale I tell to thee. Sometimes, gentle Sulomon, a cigar is just a cigar. And sometimes games and patches are delayed because they just need more time. Let not the demons of rumor and despair take thee. Seek enlightenment, reach for the truth, for if ye don't ye may just end up with a Waffen SS manikin in thy boudoir and a penchant for dunking baby cats!

    The End.

This is the internet equivalent to hearing "Are we there yet?" from the backseat. Even though we have taken a lot of trips together that turned out fine, even if we had to take the scenic route (ie. longer) a few times.
The drivers are all currently driving like maniacs, and need to concentrate completely on the road right now if we want to get to (insert desirable destination here).
We can pull off at a rest station when Steve gets to one. It's his car (along with a guy named Charles that seems to be in a cooler in the trunk) - he knows best (really) when its time to stop for a look at the roadmap.
As far as I know, the wheels are still on my car, and on those ahead. No fires either, only the road flying by under the wheels, like always.
...And another 15 minutes gone, since I got lost in this cul-de-sac.

Fake news! Are you really Mord?  I think you are the new Mord, not the old Mord.  Or maybe just A new Mord of which there may be many, possibly an infinite number of new Mords all standing on a flat earth with the blood rushing to their heads as earth is uprise down.

Vlad calls me Mordski. When I am not trolling facebook tipping elections, I like to slip onto the BFC website and cause confusion and mayhem to hide the fact Steve ran off with everone's 4.0 money and Charles is nothing more than a smudge of goo in a dried up Helman's jar. It's a living.

benpark got a reaction from Denis1973 in "AI" behavior
Upgrade 4.0 actually adds facing commands to the AI orders available to scenario designers- so upgrade 4.0 is actually capable of avoiding the behavior you are seeing- but it needs to be planned by the designer. Since this is a release scenario (can't remember who did that one off the top of my head, but nice map!), the 4.0 upgrade behaviors were not available.
After a very quick look at the scenario in the Editor- If you are playing as the German side- the instructions let you know that this scenario is designed to be played as the Soviet side- so I'd proceed with the understanding that it may be too easy for an experienced player (as German). I think that the AI in attack won't be as potentially difficult to deal with without the "face" command and "area fire"  that are now available to the scenario designer with the 4.0 upgrade.
I'd expect the AI plan to be more varied if playing as intended (as Soviets) as well. That said, I know we scenario and campaign designers will be using the new commands to make for more challenging defensive fights vs. AI attackers (and as defenders) in the future 4.0 titles. As always, it is an AI, not a human player, etc.- that said,  I only play vs. the AI- so these new 4.0 changes are very useful for designers, rather than being a cause of irrational behaviors in this particular case.

Yepp...the face command introduced with the V4 update is a very good one !
Previously the AI-units would end their move by ROTATING towards their NEXT waypoint...Very frustrating at times...The V4 update fixed this problem...Thank you !
Another neat feature of the V4 update is the REVERSE feature...This, for the first time, alows scenario designers to program shoot-n-scoot move for the AI...
I don't know if this is what the scenario designer is trying to do in your particular case mention above...having some armour move forward...wait a short while...and then withdraw back again...Pre V4 there was no REVERSE command. Before this update the vehicles would need to turn around i place (exposing their rear to the enemy) to be able to withdraw towards the same direction they came from...
If the scenariodesigner in this scenario have placed the next waypoint for this particular AI Group behind them...like mentioned...this would expain the AI behavior seen here.

What is “enough of your customers”?  10, 20?
and Benpark stopped to give you an update that told you essentially nothing.  No offense Ben.    which then confirms the point of why it makes little sense for Steve to do so.  He has made the same above statement before explaining why they don’t communicate more often.
And no one said you were wrong for asking for it.   The only thing I and some others have said is there isn’t much likelihood you will get a response until Steve feels it is time.  What I do think is wrong is the suggestion that BF does not care about their customers. Giving you updates that say essentially nothing does not show they care.
Patience grasshopper, when you can accurately predict from steve’s statements what the REAL timeline will be, then you will have achieved enlightenment.

I'd rather eat a fully cooked meal than one that is raw in the middle that "looks okay from the outside".
I've got the RT module well underway- The module is being worked on nearly every day, and has been for well over a year now. But there is still more to be done in order to show people something that incorporates the cool new stuff. Otherwise you get weird, untextured bits, bugs and weird game behaviors when you weren't prepared to show something. THAT causes problems, and opens up questions that are really a waste of everyone's time, because that's not how the game will look by release.
Getting everything slotted in, in the right way takes a loooooong time and is a huge amount of effort, to say nothing of- planning the module, making the maps (the maps!), making the campaigns, building the scenarios, testing, 2D artwork, 3D artwork, testing, testing, TESTING everything. And so on.
PR may not seem to be the main effort (the crew is too small for that now)- but the games are. That may put some people off that like updates, and I do get it- but within reason. We all like to see the new stuff, I'm the same in that respect.
Really- I would love to show off some things we have nearly done or are complete. But there are other parts that aren't slotted in or in progress, so it would screw everyone up to see them in that state- and give an inaccurate representation of a huge amount of effort. I'm sure Steve would respond "When it's ready....", which is the best, most honest answer that can be given. You can take that as frustrating, or as a truly honest answer- but it is indeed the truth, regardless.
I think I've said all I can say at the moment. Hang in there. The games are coming, and the extra time isn't being wasted. There is constant work being done, to a very high standard on every aspect of the various BFC endevors.
