  3. This is the first report of such an issue and 1.02 had no changes what so ever to any sound files or sound code. Go ahead and reinstall the OS like you were thinking about and see if that makes a difference. Madmatt
  4. 30.87 is fine. It was originally offered via the MS's WINDOWS UPDATE Webpage. Its a Microsoft varient (probably WHQL certified) version of the 30.82 series drivers. Madmatt
  5. It's not a shortcoming of the engine but rather an issue with certain video drivers (thanks again NVidia) and Z buffer ordering. Basically the drivers get confused and place the hull area behind the mesh BEHIND the background sky graphic instead of in front of it, in essence the ORDER in which the textures are drawn gets switched and you get the issue you see above where the sky shows in between the mesg gaps. It only occurs with the Toldia in CMBB and we didnt have the time to spend to play with the mesh graphics to get it resolved although it should be possible, perhaps by increasing the amount of "mesh" material shown in the texture. 6. It's not a code issue, just two missing textures. Here they are though. Just copy and paste the two images below and past into your CMBB BMP folder. In Windows you can right click on the image, select SAVE PICTURE AS and then select your bmp folder. Madmatt

  8. So, are you guys saying that the German 1.02 patch posted on that site uses a different .exe filename for the game when the patch is run than what CDV normally uses (which is CM2.exe IIRC)? If so, what is the new filename for the game that is installed? Madmatt
  9. I asked Charles about the Hetzer and he had this to say: >> The Hetzer has a small curved gun mantlet, that's all. The upper front hull is NOT curved. << This means that only hits to the Gun Mantlet are treated as impacting a curved surface. My guess is that the same applies to the Jadgpanther since it too has a curved mantlet. Madmatt [ February 13, 2003, 04:04 PM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  10. WRONG ANSWER Bone_Vulture!!! Peng thread or not what you said was shameful and disrespectful to this mans pain and situation. If you didn't like what was being said then you should have just kept your damn mouth shut! The Pengsters are a community every bit as much as the rest of the forum, if not more so, and when something in real life affects a member it is the strength of that community that people come to together to offer support and prayers and help if they can. What possible purpose did your posts serve? Is your time so damn important that you can't allow this man to grieve a little and to be comforted by those that care for him as a person? Maybe I should just ban you now so you can have the extra time you seem to cherish so closely to continue to be selfish and self absorbed somewhere else? Combat Mission, the forum and the MBT are just "things", diversions if you will but they are supported by REAL PEOPLE with REAL LIVES and REAL PROBLEMS. Real life trumps a "diversion" everytime Bone_Vulture,EVERYTIME. I feel you at least owe Aussie_Jeff an apology. Wheter you are man enough to do that is up to you. 11. CDV should be releasing the patch before the weekend. It was our decission to go *early* this time, I just had nothing better to do on a Tuesday night. :-p Madmatt p.s. You may recall that last time CDV released 1.01 before we did, so this time we beat them to the punch. Either way, shortly everyone will be able to get 1.02.
  12. The CDV version of the v1.02 patch should be out soon. I was actually surprised they didnt release ahead of time like they usually do. For once I beat them to the punch! Madmatt p.s. As soon as the CDV patch is ready I will post here to let all of our European Windows Customers know. [ February 11, 2003, 08:44 PM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  13. Okay, go and get it! Battlefront.com News Page Madmatt p.s. By the way, we are aware that the PZ 38(T) and BT-2 new models show an incorrect profile in the armor display panel. This was noticed too late to fix but its a cosmetic issue only, the armor bars themseleves are accurate. [ February 11, 2003, 08:33 PM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  14. Guys, relax a little. It's a little early to be refreshing monkeys just yet. Just be patient, if all goes to plan the patch will be out before the weekend. Madmatt
  15. And since I always like to show up Steve in public when I can I have RE-edited the edited messages to link to both galleries and have also renamed the thread to get a little more attention... Madmatt
  16. I would to see that as well. As the guy most likely to be put in charge of sound effects for the new engine I have already warned Charles about some of the stuff I am going to want to add. You model and texture monkeys aint got nothing on an insane sound engineer like myself! MWAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA!!!! Madmatt [ February 10, 2003, 05:22 PM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  17. A LOTR's themed game in the same vein as CM would be cool and we would probably have no problem doing one (we all love Tolkien) but licensing issues will probably keep that little gem outa our bonnet for the foreseable future. Madmatt
  18. The guides are still on backorder and will most likely be so at least until the end of February. Soon as I know more, I will post more. Madmatt
  19. Well, let me clarify that while CMHQ is not RUN by BFC, it is hosted on a server that is owned by BFC, although the physical server itself was built by me long ago. Battlefront allows me to run CMHQ as I wish (like they have a choice, in fact 20% or so of BFC IS me!) and much of the custom software that runs on it (the chat system and newscripts) were purchased by me way before I was ever hired and when CMHQ was just a side hobby for me and Fionn. What does this mean? Well it means that BFC does foot the bill for all the CMHQ bandwidth which is why we have the largest repository of mods for CM in existance. Over 5 gig at last count. I do want to let people know that it is possible that at some point in the future all old content (read: CMBO mods and files) will be removed in order to make room for newer stuff. Capacity is not infinite on that server. But that is a long ways off still. So for now, we have an influx of eager new blood and things should be getting back on track! Madmatt
  20. Great, we are glad you enjoyed the print! One of the perks of working at Battlefront is that I now have all ten prints in my office but I really need to get them framed and hung up. Madmatt [ February 09, 2003, 11:49 AM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  21. The CD's (for windows) which we will have back in stock by the end of next week WILL contain 1.02 on them. I am still trying to get clarification about the Mac CD's though. There *may* be a delay before Mac 1.02's CD's begin shipping since we have not run out of Mac 1.0 CD's as yet. Also, in regards to the forthcoming 1.02 patch. Its about 8 megs in size (for the BFC version, Euro version will be bigger since it has to have multiple languages included) and you MUST already be patched up to 1.01 in order to install it.
