    Hi all,
Just wanted to say hello and I hope I get to play some PBEM against some of you when I get better.
I'm a huge history fan, and also a fan of Graviteam Tactics: Mius Front, but it never quite did what I wanted. Games like Gates of Hell: Ostfront, looked gorgeous but were tactically shallow experiences that in no way represented the battles I've read about in books. The closest I could get was warg ames like War in the East 2, which still were fairly abstract.
I found out about these games a few weeks ago and...Well, with the Steam sale I've purchased CM:BS, CM:SF2 and CM:BN, plus all the respective DLCs. I've been wanting games like these for years. Can't wait to start building the hours. I've clocked up 30 hours in two weeks which, for me as a 37 year old with a job and girlfriend, is fairly extreme.

Cannot believe I didn't try them sooner.

    Nice to meet you all

I had been wondering that. They must have plenty of ELINT on what frequencies the Russian tactical drones are using, plus all the unexploded ones picked up. One would expect all they need do is broadcast a 'turn right' command and the drones wouldn't be able to fly straight. But that doesn't sounds like something that gets detailed on civilian chat groups.

Instead of comparing Wagner's uprising to the 1917 revolution lets instead compare it to something a bit closer to home, the recent stalemate over US the debt limit. One side uses threats to throw the economy into default as a hostage bargaining chip. They make demands on issues unrelated to the debt limit. The two sides come to a mutual agreement and the debt limit hostage is released. It was never about the debt limit. Same applies to recent events in Russia. Threats to destroy Putin's regime was just used as leverage in negotiations over other matters. It was never really about overthrowing the government. That was just a convenient hostage in a blackmail scheme.

Is there any way to visually distinguish Wagner from regular army? If they come to blows I can see as many friendly fire casualties as opponents. Any unit two block ways from the next unit is liable to be mistaken for the enemy and fired upon.

I'm reminded of how every crackpot in the US who shoots up a church service or shopping mall or music concert will claim he did it in order to 'jumpstart the revolution', a revolution that never comes. This particular revolution will only work if someone in Putin's inner circle pulls out a pistol on him. or if Putin so fears that happening that he hops a cargo plane to the UAE. What is the chance of that happening? Better now than it was 48 hours ago.

When I saw 'Angry Patriots Club' my first thought is they better not be presenting anyone with award trophies. We know how badly that turned out last time.

Well, he DID say he was really just an entertainer. Or was that his comrade AlexJones? Of course, TOKYO ROSE and AXIS SALLY(s) also performed “entertainment”. In the service of the actual Nazis and their allies in Japan. Some things never change. But meanwhile, a certain forum member’s fervent plea, “Are we there yet are we there yet are we there yet” has finally been answered.

I once read a government paper on US vehicle damage from mines/IEDs in Iraq. The number of damaged vehicles, including Bradleys and Abrams, was HUGE. Some vehicles went back for repairs/rebuilds five times over. That's just the nature of modern warfare. And that was why MRAP was invented. The assumption was you will eventually run over a mine. Might as well make a vehicle that the passengers will survive the blast and the sheered-off suspension pieces can be swapped out.

Leopard 2 was oversold as some game-changing Überwaffe when its merely more MBTs to add to Ukraine's tank fleet. Leopard 2 is going to do as well and as poorly as any other tank in the arsenal when trying to breach Russian defenses. Leopard 2 comes with its own particular handicap in that is seen by the Russians as a 'prize' to focus their attention on, so it becomes a magnet for incoming fire.

Another thing about that Bradley photo above. The pesky Abrams in the corner with CIP panels hanging off it. Not particularly Ukrainian.

No, Russians did Nord Stream. If you go back far enough on this very  thread you will see Russian ships being tracked directly over the explosion site before it happened.

I don' know if we ever got a formal list of which American politicians were receiving Russian bribe money channeled to them through the NRA. Some politicians really shouldn't be receiving regular security briefings.
