PseudoSimonds (again I'm not defending him or his opinions) since you asked...I don't know what his feelings are about the bits of nastiness you bring up but I think the point he was making was the title using the word "shock" and in trying to make his point he took the oppurtunity to spout off his opions on the war.

PseudoSimonds (I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with the posters point on this forum) I think he meant the word "shock" in this particular setting. If it was a game building roller coasters or simulating Civil War 1861 or searching for dragons and amulets or pretty much any game that doesn't depict U.S. armed forces in modern day Middle East then I would guess he would have no problem with the use of the word "shock" in a game title.

From what I have read about the game any playtesting that doesn't involve human played CMBB will be a waste of time. If I understand how the game will work one of the primary (if not THE primary) functions of CMC will be that it triggers a CMBB battle that is then played in CMBB and the surviving forces are brought back into CMC. Without this function this is little purpose for something like CMC. So playtesting and writing up an initial AAR without that (even if it is only human vs AI) would be a waste of a testers time. Just one pods opinion.

Peter are you playing a CM conversion of RB or somehow playinmg ASL through email? Mikes "Little Stalingrad" operation makes me think of RB. I have been playing it for a long time and am currently in battle 18 of 20.

Sergei, It is EXTREMLY unlikey that what you are asking for was/will be even considered let alone actually put in the game. Love, Elvis

One quick note to add. If I understand correctly a battle does not need to be fought using CMBB and can automatically resolved. So if a battalion goes through an quadrant with a platoon that battle can be fought in whatever time it takes for a computer esolution to take place instead of a fulll blown CMBB battle. Of course when a battle is initiated you have no idea if your battalion is facing a platoon or 2 battalions. Perhaps there will be/can be some sort of auto auto battle where you don't even get the choice to fight or not the computer determines it isn't worth playing out. And maybe the platoon can have the option of hiding to avoid detection all together......oh my...I've gone off on a tangent didn't I?

I had only tried the desktop. Using the Start menu the regular "launch T72 demo" does the same thing BUT there is also a "safemode launch T72 demo" that works fine. Thank you very much, Matt!!!!!

It may just be me but....... Demo downloaded. Demo installed. I click to launch the demo and a window opens telling me about the features etc... And I can click to buy now or click to buy later. I click to buy later and nothing happens. I click to buy now and a browser opens to the web site ordering screen but the demo still doesn't launch. Am I doing something wrong?

Dear Joe, Perhaps you are correct on this one. I woke to to find a file this morning which is either CMAK that isn't the latest version OR CMBB and he didn't mention it the email. Either way I was on the fence about continuing after reading the WWF style rant in the email. Now that I think about I may continue just to receive more of them. Love, Elvis
