Thin Red Line
I'm not sure if this has been discussed before ; i've read somewhere that fog and rain will present in CMBN (i think they're not in CMSF). Is this confirmed ? If so, will the fog be compatible with Nvidia cards and Windows 7 (currently CMx1's fog tables are not compatible with W7 and nvidia drivers).
Thomm
If so, will the fog be compatible with Nvidia cards and Windows 7. I do not recall having any problems with this setup and fog. Best regards, Thomm
Thin Red Line
It seems to be a known issue. I'm experiencing it, as well as my PBEM opponent. I'm referring to this : http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?p=1228059
Jonny(FGM)
Yeah no fog on vista/7 with nvidia cards. However i think CMx1 and CMx2 use totally different graphics implementations (Direct3D and OpenGL if i'm correct) so shouldn't be a problem in CMBN
Other Means
I can confirm that there's weather in Normandy. Sunny is weather, isn't it?
Lanzfeld
I can confirm that there's weather in Normandy. Sunny is weather, isn't it? Really? Are you hinting that poor visibility didnt make it in???
akd
Oh jeez...you do not need to worry about weather options.

Thomm
From the CM:BN webpage: Wide range of weather types and environmental effects, including rain, fog, heavy winds (with ballistic effects), different types of ground conditions, animated water effects, and more... Best regards, Thomm
Field Marshal Blücher
Both graphically and simulationally, CMx2 is a totally new engine, so any graphical issues from CMx1 won't carry over to CMx2.

MikeyD
I fully expect, when the game comes out, somebody's going to complain that the scenario they just played dated June 11 at 2pm was sunny when everyone knows that June 11, 1944 at 2pm in that location was overcast with light drizzle!

Thin Red Line
June and July 44 had the worst weather registered in the Normandy region since 1900 (clouds, rain and strong winds).
Moon
Hell if that person could just step up now and give me the weather information for the area day by day I'd love them forever. I may be hallucinating, but I seem to recall having stumbled upon a website once which had daily weather records for the Normandy region and timeframe. Perhaps try Google and see what comes up. Unfortunately, I have not the slightest idea anymore where I saw this...
Pvt. Ryan
CMBN should force actual weather conditions for the date chosen or it will be considered a failure as an historical weather simulator.

I found that resource as well, but it only covered the Canadian front as I recall.
MikeyD
Haw! I googled 'Weather Records Normandy' and got a likely candidate, but when I clicked on it I came right back here! That was almost as much fun as Googling a random subject and finding your own name come up (yes, that has happened to me before).

MikeyD
And you were being charged with what exactly? Hey, don't laugh. I found my name buried in a DoD database. And I've never been in the military!
