Alan8325
I would like to see it be able to do this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4Tkaao3hCE&feature=rec-HM-r2
flamingknives
Why? That's a Leopard 1.

-Eddie-
You want lots of cut shots of a Leopard 1 driving over a speed bump? Then a shot of it rushing to find a parking space? Then another of it firing its gun from static like every other tank can do? You're asking way too much.

MikeyD
Ah, that's a classic shot. I've seen BT fast tanks airborne, Stuarts, Crusaders, Lees, T34s... As a matter of fact I've seen so many airborne tank picts I'm rather wondering if its an easy stunt! Can't you imagine a Maus being pushed off a ski jump as a publicity shot gets taken?
Pvt. Ryan
It's got mad skills.
-Eddie-
But it does it with more panache. That's as may be but my car can drive over speed bumps and be pretty aggressive in finding a parking space too. I could probably throw some kind of potato from it when moving too. Dietrich
What's the point of a "jump shot" that goes wide, even at minimum range? I doubt even the Leopard 2's gyrostabilization can take into account the tank hurtling through the air at 50 mph.
flamingknives
I rather suspect that the gyrostablisation and fire control is more than capable of handling all movement up until the landing.
costard
I rather suspect that the gyrostablisation and fire control is more than capable of handling all movement up until the landing. So we can turn a "hull down" tank into a fully exposed one!? BF, you need to model this one! Scenario designers will need to include jump ramps, tho'.
Cougar_DK
Why? That's a Leopard 1. I'm pretty sure its a Leopard 2A4....
Elmar Bijlsma
Nah, you can see the turret shape quite well at 0:14. Angled sides, so no 2A4.
Damian90
First of, tanks don't jump in the battle, it's only atraction for customers and etc. ;-) In battle you try to stay as low as you can. Not to mention that even the best stab. in tank can't handle such evolutions, not to mention gunners skills. Also this is unnecessary expose of tank and unnecessary risk. Ps. This tank is Leopard 1A5 or Canadian variant Leopard C2 but without MEXAS up-armor kit.
flamingknives
Oh, I don't think that it's an advisable tactical manoeuvre, but up until it lands the accelerations aren't really any more violent than normal high-speed cross-country movement. So that shot, taken after it jumps but before it lands, is going to be as accurate as any other taken on the move.
Other Means
It's actually more stable when firing, like a Mongol warrior.
Zipuli
I saw this titled "Danish Leo 1A5 shooting" some time ago...

The commanders periscope looks like the one on the Leo 1A5 (seen clearly at 0:23)

I thought the video was pretty funny.
