Sequoia
Are clouds in yet? I don't suppose you'd do another one where we can see clouds? Please!
konstantine
I like the point made in the blog about the Syrian countryside and what it implies for the editor. The terrain and flora in the Near East are both very diverse. The video looked great too, very immersive. It reminded me of a sci-fi short story I read, by Bruce Sterling, about a planet that was uninhabited and nothing but vegetation. Or maybe I've been playing too much Drop Team.
Battlefront.com
Yes, clouds are in and they do affect the sunlight pattern on the ground. Very nicely too Steve

mav1
I want more. I would like to have a walk through the Syrian Countryside.
Imperial Grunt
Looks great to me... Except for the palm trees, the map also looks alot like Camp Pendleton in the summer. Keep up the great work!
gibsonm
Guys, I take on board the “Alpha Build” point. The other issue I guess is will this new modelling be used for something “more important”? For example: Will wind speed and direction influence the density, duration and drift of smoke? Will wind direction and speed need to be included in ballistic calculations as it is by modern fire control systems? Will burning AFV’s now block LOS with their hot smoke (might interfere with TI)? Will this effect the flight path of flares or maybe even cause drift for parachutists? And of course will Flamethrowers firing into the wind be suitably punished? I’m happy to see pinwheel trees / foliage if what is causing the movement is used in the modeling. Indeed if it is then the not so flash movement will be fine because it suggests that you have focused on the underlying issues and not the chrome of making the tree movement look “pretty”. Oh and BTW I use “Snapz Pro X” on my Mac for video capture to QuickTime. I don't think you'll see parachutists in CM. And, unfortunately, I recall it won't be for Mac.
gibsonm
I don’t think they will be dropped (although I agree that we probably wont see parachutists dropped either ). I think they will be further developed. Currently the smoke stays pretty localised (where it lands) now with a more detailed wind model there is the prospect of it drifting so instead of saying I want to screen here and the smoke is plotted there, you may have to have the smoke land up wind and drift down to screen the area you want it to.

Speedy
The sound of breaking waves was pretty cool, I kept looking around for the sea. Glad you included the Ents too
J Ruddy
I like it. It could use a few tweeks (as beefed about by others) but all in all it's pretty good. It it were released today, I might chuckle but I wouldn't complain. Kasserine Pass here I come! (or not..)
