Mech Bushmen: Last heard from opponent 8/12/02.

Still true. Can't find a post in this thread that notes he is away. Doesn't mean I just didnt find it. jdejohn, are u out there?

Dies Ireas: Turn 7 or so. Progress slow, but sure.

At the *current* rate of turn arround, it will take a ~125 days to finish Dies Ireas.

9/20/02 Newsflash

Updates from W2

W2 vs A2: Don't know yet. I may be achieving the most spectacular victory since...well, uh, well some really cool victory. Or I might have all my little bits blown across the entire. Outcome slowly forthcoming.

W2 vs B2: No idea still dark. And I think there are no VL in this game. Now what do I do?

W2 vs C2: Leffe is running around and playing. It would seem that the lil pup has other orders. From our intelligence we have gathered, it is believed he is planting a new explosive called a "Slide Mine". Little of this weapon is known. Will post when testing yields results.

W2 vs D2: It looks like, well, um...*shakes head in disbelief*...not too good for my feared Teutonic Sprinting Team. One of the team buses broke down on the way to the game and some of the boys wandered off when the chearleaders showed up. Damn kids letting their hormones get the best of them.

I be lucky to pull off an Axis Total and Complete Loss.

Turns are out.

Try and win the war lad. This one is tricky as you actually have to kill in order to win :D .

You should be serious about the "Elite Leffe" as it cost your enemy over 400 points to deploy and has all sorts of secret weapon and sensor gimmicks installed... ;)

I sure hope that none of you can actually win them all. It might be possible though...

Z2 vs B2: Dies Irae - about to finish - the final movie has gone off the the foe and I await the AAR. I think I'm gonna win...but by how much????????

Z2 vs C2: Old Foes - The Mad Finn is running away - as soon as he's confronted by something more than old men and young boys his brave British "Tommies" tuck their tails between their legs adn flee from the brave Luftwaffe Panzertruppen!! lol

T15, and we'vev finally got a bit of real contact if not too much combat.

Z2 vs D2: Mechanised Bushmen - last minute flag rushes are underway with about 2 or 3 moves to go. German counterattacks are making good progress so far!! :D

Update.

Mechanized Bushmen W2-C2

- File 14 sent.

- The brave scout puppy Leffe doing wonderful. Enemy soldiers seen what was thought sunbathing but later turned out to having a hang over after too many schnapps. Going to deliver some headache pills for poor lads asap :D

April's Fool X2-C2

- File 26 sent.

- Some [CENSORED] dropping on my neck. Not anymore. One [CENSORED] executed for wearing a funny looking tupé. One house executed for being there. Onwards we go like Titanic. Lucky me, there's no ice bergs nearby. tongue.gif

Dies Irae Y2-C2

- File 34 sent.

- Still more [CENSORED] coming to my way! Leveling some houses so I can see them better - so you can stay over there, Fritz! I can see you just fine and besides, you've got a horrible dog breath! ;)

Arch Enemies Z2-C2

- File 50 sent.

- First grandpa's and boy scouts. Then some odd looking tin cans. Lucky me, I've got a can opener ready! Trying to flank me with [CENSORED]? I'll [CENSORED] you! And your mother was a hamster! smile.gif

By gun length?

By bumper length?

Or by bumper sticker length?

Keep us posted ;)

Why does the "Bushmen" always end up in a flagrush? Too few large VLs  ?

That Leffe fights grand for the value. I'll add him to the LFHB too so you can utilize the excellent tail-wagging man's best friend in those scenarios as well ;) .

Don't think you have won them already as the iceberg arrives as a reinforcement on turn 6. Expect to be hit and sunk before turn 25... :D

Allied C1 (ezp@mail) here...

Mech. Bushmen (Axis W1) - file 07 sent 11 Aug.

April Fool (Axis X1) - file 20 resent 21 Aug. as your e-mail leads me to believe you didn't get it before.

Dies Irae (Axis Y1) - file 26 sent 21 Aug.

Arch Enemies (Axis Z1) - file 20 sent 11 Aug.

Except on weekends, I've tried to send turns within 48 hours of receiving them, so please let me know if you don't hear from me for longer than that... a couple of my mails have apparently not gotten through, but they were not bounced back to me, so I have no other way of knowing if you guys don't get them.

A great scenario, if a somewhat cruel introduction to PBEM. Thanks to Mike for the drubbing. At least I captured 3 of his men!

One of the bloodiest scenarios I have ever played. It always leaves you feeling somewhat empty...

I hope all you lads pop here once in a while as this is a great place for information on game progress and possible difficulties (technical, RL etc.) causing all sorts of delays are sorted here. If you are not sure that the opponent got the last files sent e-mail them and ask. If these bounce as well just post here and I'll try to reach 'em...

All right my boys,

in apprx. 12 hours I am on a plane on my way to NY for the weekend and Dallas, TX for next week. I have notified my opponents of my back-up address via email.

Forecast states 33C/90+F for Irving during next week.

I think the only times I've seen 33 degrees C in here have been when there's a minus sign in front of it during winter... :D

Have a good one,

The Schmegeg Report:

D Versus Z Birds of Prey

We are sure there is something wrong here but here goes

Allied D 63 Axis Z 35 it honestly could of gone either way, but the game rifle goes to the opposing team's Obg Knappe, he took out 3 Armored vehicles with a Faust under heavy enemy fire his widow of course will recieve the honors because we weren't sporting enough to take him prisoner.

Still no contact from MechB, thats 10 days now.

Too bad, I was just about to open up a big ol' can of whoop ass.

CMBB is coming ever so sooner, so 125 days seems... a bit long. Can we tcp/ip one evening to gain some time?

Happy weekend everybody, I'm off for summer camp now :D

Leffe will join me on the quest of the Holy Pike which lies in the depths of the lake Rusut, so Axis forces have a little bit time off.

Fast notes:

Dies Irae God, this is cruel fight! Putting soft against tough doesn't result very well...

Arch Enemies So now there's some action! Fallschirmpuppies didn't run that far after all. My disquise as colander is really paying off, err, maybe even too well (looking a sad thing that looks more like Swiss cheese than anything else)

April's Fool Advancing little by little. Am I really supposed to catch all the flags within the time limit? Where are my Kettenkrads when I need plenty of them?

Mech. Bushmen Something happening... And it's surely not a result of schnapps!

One more to go and it's almost finished, too.

Good Job with the scenarios. Hope you enjoyed the bunch already done.

Yet another finished. Soon all is done but the scoreboard :D

The rules state that you should play all as Pbem if requested. If you'd like to TCP/IP some or all and your opponents agree there is nothing against it in the rules. This should be for fun... ...and glory and fame of course! ;)

I do not think that your CM:BO does not run after installing CM:BB. I do not think that BTS sends strike team to take you out for playing CM:BO after the launch of CM:BB. This goes for the rest of you also. I hope we can wrap this up before CM:BB reaches the stores but if not you have to play yuor games or drop out from the tourney.

I mail to your opponent. I sure hope he replies. If not we'll have to figure it out fast!

To Mike and Kuma:

You guys seem to enjoy ripping each other apart so no further comments are required smile.gif .

To everybody:

Those of you who haven't seen the Monty Python's Holy Grail and can't quote at least one half of the dialogue from memory alone I have some homework to be done. Watch the movie :D .

Craig and Tero - are you guys there? If you didn't get my last file, let me know so I can re-send. smile.gif

To all my Axis opponents:

I'm committed to finishing the tourney regardless of September 1 and 20. I will try to maintain a turn-per-day rate, but my schedule is unstable enough that I cannot promise more than that. I prefer not to play TCP/IP, partly because I don't think a tourney is the right place to do so for the first time  , and partly because you would only become enraged at the amount of time I spend planning moves, watching and re-watching movies, etc. (how is that any different, I can hear you thinking).

See you on the fields o' strife...

Lost Audacity at Audillion from Schemegg.

Allied minor victory

Well done, especially your last turns broke my resistance!

At a few turns from the end there was nothing that could stand in the way of my 3rd victory this round................

But than I lost my armor one by one due to mistakes caused by carelessness redface.gif

But nevertheless a very exciting game.

Loads of feedback are pouring in as I hoped.

I hope that you are not expecting personal replies as my time is rather limited to accomplish full scale correspondence with 24 people. Here are some main points and replies to them:

Slow Progress

I can't do much to prevent it. I WAS expecting some difficulties on this sector and don't feel crushed about the matter.

Solutions:

1. Deadlines :( . I hate deadlines  . No deadlines  .

2. Creating groups for tourneys consisting "fast lane" with turn a day rate and a slower pace group for 4-5 mails per week and the snail lane for the slower players. Separate finals for all the groups. This too is bound to cause trouble but is the best thing I can figure out.

Random reinforcement insertions

Yes, they are unfair  . War is not fair. As I'm a democrat I could have a vote (Yea/Nay) for fixed arrivals but IMHO as this tournament IS SUPPOSED to be about reacting to the surprises and changing conditions of the battlefield I'd love to have them included. Somebody has done very well in one of the games though his luck was so rotten that the promised reinforcements never materialized.

Arrival of CM:BB

I rest my case. I will acquire a copy and play the game. Still I'm more attracted to west front as the east front provides way more difficulties in scenario designing. I hope I get to post the honours and send the rewards as this folds up. I'll run this as long as you are willing to play. If you think it is not fun we'll call it a day and my boss will see me doing some REAL work for a change...

Feel free to quote this or just to post your opinions about the three matters above. These were the only things that showed in multiple mails.
