bisu
In my current PBEM battle I came across a following situation. While maneuvering my Sherman along the city streets it suddenly became stuck clipping partially with a building wall (see picture). It is not immobilized or something however it ignores all movement orders turn after turn. I remember a similar situation in my previous PBEM where my tank got stuck while attempting to cross a hole blasted in the bocage. Is that a sort of bug and is there any remedy in such situation to have the tank moving again?
Pak40
It's a English tank crew. Obviously they've stopped for tea time.
IronCat60
Hey bisu, I am trying to replicate your problem to help you solve your problem. Can you tell me the name of the map you are using? It may be a combination of terrain features in that action square along with the building that are greater combined than the "movement points" the tank has available? Willing to help!
womble
Can you share the turn somewhere, Bisu?
bisu
The name of the map is: Holland Oosterbeek City Meet 016. Here is the link to the file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fprlji58fydr1l8/sherman.ema?dl=0 pass: jar However the file itself does not help much as it is the order execution phase and the problem consists in the tank actually NOT executing move orders. So it just sits there the whole turn even though it has move orders assigned previously..
IronCat60
Say bisu, I cannot get that file to open for the life of me. So I am kind of at a stand still to try and help you with your problem. Is it possible to post a jpg or similiar format?
RockinHarry
Check track status! Obviously track got damaged while moving through low wall. That´s from first looks. Edit: If it´s not that (although damage status for tracks shows a dark dot), TC got casualty previously and tank crew is now on "nervous". Then it would be a morale issue. rocketman
I came across a similar situation - the Sherman barely touches low bocage and stops reacting to any movement order. Nothing wrong with tracks. Not bogged/immobilized. Not under fire or under distress. I have saves.
A Canadian Cat
Thanks for the saves I'll have a quick look and package it up. Might be tomorrow though...
rocketman
To add to this.: when I give it a movement order the treads do not move nor does it state that the driver is "driving" in the left bottom corner.
Vanir Ausf B
I had a Sherman get stuck between two houses on the Breaking the Panzers map a couple years ago. I eventually got it to move with a reverse order, IIRC. Edited August 22, 2015 by Vanir Ausf B
rocketman
I'll try that move as well.
John Kettler
bisu, Tanks used to get stuck, with no damage apparent, simply from hitting a wall or bridge abutment at all in CMBN, but I have no idea whether that specific issue was ever fixed. rocketman, Love that UI! Who did it? So delightfully crisp and easy to read. Regards, John Kettler Edited August 22, 2015 by John Kettler
MOS:96B2P
rocketman, Love that UI! Who did it? So delightfully crisp and easy to read. Yes, I also noticed the UI. I have a mod that is similar but the soft factors in this unit info panel are especially well done.
rocketman
It is Juju's excellent UI, but I'm afraid I added some sharpness to it before posting. It isn't that crisp in game, but if you don't have it - get it He has equally nice ones for FI and RT.

John Kettler
rocketman, Appreciate the clarification. Things would be so much clearer in the UI if BFC implemented vector drawing rather than bitmapping there. Naturally, I have zero idea how hard that would be. Does Juju have a UI mod for CMBS also? rocketman
Does Juju have a UI mod for CMBS also? Regards, John Kettler No, unfortunately not. But the stock UI is IMO much better that the other ones.
