I don’t really know about Musk but this is really warped logic on the “Reich Effect”.
    1. With the glorious invention of weapons…anyone can “physically defend themselves”. The right keeps blaring “guns for all” which means that females and “low T” males are able to defend themselves as well as any muscle bound super dude.
    2. Isn’t the whole point of democracy to build consensus? The entire thing is about removing decision making from the hands of a few (monarchies in the old days) and put it into the hands of the many? By this logic females and “low T males” would be the best performers in a democratic system in that they are apparently hard wired by nature to seek common ground and consensus building. High T males would logically be the worst leaders in such a system as they would all be trying to “impose their wills” in every direction. There is a very important distinction between “making decisions” and “making the right decision.”
    3. What the hell is “brute force manufactured consensus” in the modern age? Every screen is not saying the same thing. In fact we have got too many screens saying everything, all at the same time. I am sure there is some weird theory that the left has no independent thought and suffered from group think, and frankly there is truth to this. But the right is just as guilty of this as any. The reality is that humans are prone to group think as safety mechanism, and it does not matter how beefy or hairy they are.
    4. “Only alpha high T males and anuerotypical people are able to determine if new information is in fact ‘true.’” If this is true we are doomed. Because the only people able to really see truth are in fact the worse ones to have in charge of a larger population. The good news is that there is no evidence to support this theory. In fact “objective truth” is particularly challenging as humans in generally rely on subjective truths - it is how we are all built.

The fact that Elon found this “interesting” definitely puts him in the subjectivity camp.
But I do have to say that this pairing of Autism and the Republican Party does win the “Weird F#cking Duck” award of the week.

If you are part of the 'woke is destroying us' crowd, then quoting socrates is not gonna make you look any smarter.  World has real problems. Wokeness, whatever the F that actually means, if probably #255 on list of actual problems.  The fact that you go there without provocation speaks ill of where you mind is.
So the Swiss were 'woke'?  They make monstrous money shielding the wealth of the world's worst people, generation after generation.  That's woke?  Again, WTF are you even talking about???

Odd angle from a guy who just was celebrating the wonders of napalm. A perfect example of the true human condition.

Nobody said Telegram was a private network. It was obviously suborned by the Russian state...which state is so inept and resource poor that it's military has been using it extensively to plan operations and communicate. The issue isn't *FSB* visibility into Telegram...it's that it is very likely that France and Five Eyes get a look at whatever small part they haven't already sieved.
Durov also didn't "walk". He is under judicial supervision, has a court date coming up and has no passport. In the court of public opinion in France, he's being portrayed in French media (which I suggest you read before commenting) as a facilitator of child porn, human trafficking and drug dealers.
Finally, much like you seem to be unable to differentiate anti-Putin from pro-Putin Russians you seem to think that the West is defined by the worst among us. Points for analytical consistency I guess?

There are morons (and non-morons) everywhere, so also in high places in the West. But not subscribing to your extremist adagio 'only good Russian is a dead one' doesn't mean the West is looking to one up Russia's empire aspirations; nor does North Korea calling it's self Democratic mean that 'we' see it as a democracy.

you live in a fantasy world.  The right has gone bonkers, but you have moved so far right with it that it looks to you like the left has moved.  As if Biden & Obama & Kamala are some crazy constituion-killing radicals who tried to overthrow electionsa and destroy democracy and are trying to be dictators.  Look in the mirror.
The left is a little more left on some things.  The right is flat out insane and has no idea where reality even begins.

Adding to point 4, I would like to see a return to more realistic mist and fog (as was present in CM1), although the effects on line of sight are modeled, the visual effect makes you think your troops can see more than they actually can. Also it used to give you the claustrophobic feel of combat on a foggy day which the present system doesn't.
Also I hope the new engine improves the ugly edge of map appearance so that it doesn't visually cut off as harshly as it does now.

As someone who plays quite a bit of PBEM I don't get some of the comments on WEGO.  A minute a turn for PBEM is just fine (albeit sometimes too long as you watch disaster unfold).  Long live WEGO and 1 minute turns.

I'm pretty sure you can do that on the BFC forums. I never have to log back in when I get home after browsing the forums at work. So clearly logging in on my machine at work is not logging me out on my machine at home.

@Battlefront.com While it always feels a bit sad to see an independent and original company being "gobbled up" by a larger company, the additional resources will certainly be a great chance to make CM "future proof" (and a long and healthy life is what we all wish for CM). Trying to develop a product instead of making more of a well proven formula is always more risky for a smaller company that doesn't have a broader portfolio.
Congrats and please make sure not to go down the Close Combat path with Slitherine, that would be a real pity. 🙂
EDIT: And please also keep these forums, the official Slitherine ones are just meh.

Non lethal chemicals - tear gas.  The truly nasty **** in the Russian inventory has not been seen yet.
So we are talking tactical nuclear weapons here, not strategic ones. If Russia was going use strategic nuclear weapons, Kyiv would be glass. Tactical nuclear weapons are designed for operational effects - blowing holes a km or two across.  Russia has somewhere in the order of 1-2000 of them: https://www.state.gov/report-on-the-status-of-tactical-nonstrategic-nuclear-weapons-negotiations/#:~:text=Russia's estimated stockpile of roughly, nuclear warheads for Russia's dual-
The levels of fallout from these weapons is much lower as the devices themselves are much lower yields - fraction to 50 kilotons (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tactical_nuclear_weapon#:~:text=8 External links-,Details,air-to-air missiles.)  So you want to take Adiivka, well you can spend 5 months losing a Bn a week or fire 2-4 tac nukes and simply blow a giant hole in UA defences.   Fallout would be manageable, but frankly Russian concern as to their own population is pretty laughable at this point.  They would simply lie and blame it on NATO.
We have been down the "Ukrainian Nuke Myth" road several times.  1) Those Soviet nuclear weapons were strategic, ranges do not add up. 2) You are making some huge assumptions on the stability of 90-00 era Ukraine to be a nuclear power. 3) Ukraine sold those nukes for cash, and weak security guarantee (read the Budapest Memo). 4) If they had tried to hold onto them, Russia or NATO would have removed them by force for reasons 1 &2.
The key takeaway is that nuclear weapons bind warfare for both sides - it is why it is called "mutual assured destruction".  So while younger generations have been raised to somehow believe that nuclear war will never happen, those of us over 50 are a lot less sure. To be honest, the nuclear constraints on Russia are much higher than I thought. Why? Because the use of tactical nuclear weapons at Kursk would be consistent with Russian doctrine - an invasion of home soil.  We have the same doctrines - how well do you suppose the US would tolerate occupation of parts of Texas? If Russia lit off some demonstration tactical nuclear weapons right now on their own soil, I seriously doubt the West would do a damned thing besides make duck noises. Yet, even Putin - bomber of children's hospitals - is holding back.
As to the Chinese...well they can read Hal Brands and hear the warhawk signals coming out of Washington as well as any.  Want to win a war over Taiwan? Create a nuclear deterrence equation where we refuse to get directly involved. Just like Russia did in Ukraine. Welcome to the rest of the 21st century.
