Modernrocco reacted to Dan Dare in Fire and Rubble
Just to clarfy, Athens was quite antidemocratic, Spartans were a bunch of bastards, Rome was the evil empire (sorry but the 666 is a cavalistic reference to Neron) and Darth Vader, even if he has cookies, space destroyers and tie fighters, is a criminal under any standar you might apply (maybe not long time ago and on a galaxy far, far away...but luckily i'm judgin it from here and now)...nevertheless I've got a problem evaluating Napoleon...I guess I should ask a british...vae victis.
Dear Mr @Battlefront.com, I assure you I do not usually waste my time on things like this...but this is all your fault... you see, I was almost posting about the history of my family on both sides of the SCW to counter the "you more" nonsense and "bad guys" illiteraty...incredible, reading the chat when I do have on my desk the 2nd vol. of "the Oder front 1945" and "the Berlin Operation 1945"...I guess I'm completly lost...save me please...you are the only one that can do it...
RELEASE IT NOW... PLEASEEEEEE

A few were picture requests- There's an M44 in the top picture (center), and the other two are Soviet winter (with the random mix of Ushanka and helmet).
There's a good deal of visual variety for the infantry, always at the service of showing things that could be a characteristic of the unit ("military" versus "standard" appearance for Volkssturm), and for breaking up visual repetition over large formations (Soviet winter helmet/Ushanka- also for greatcoat models).

I used to watch 《Patton》 on TV, a Bridge too far, Saving Private Ryan in the cinema, and a series of war films about the Soviet Union. I prefer the uniforms and weapons of the US, British and Soviet armies, but I am not interested in German ones. people around who are interested in World War II are the opposite of me.
I can only find friends with the same preferences on the Internet,
You know, it's lonely not to have something in common

My mum used to say that when she was a little girl and saw soldiers in German uniform she was amazed over how handsome they looked.
But those of the forum members who play Germans in the CM-games probably do that because they maybe say the same about the tanks, halftracks and other technical equipment the Germans had and not so much about how the soldiers looked in uniform.

+1. Welcome to the forum.
The CMRT base game is June 1944 to September 1944. The Fire & Rubble module goes to the end of the war in May 1945. It adds the geography of Germany to include urban warfare in Berlin. So huge tank battles to infantry firefights. New flavor objects, buildings etc. CMRT will now include all seasons with the FR module. The module will add Soviet partisans, Lend-Lease equipment, Waffen SS, Kriegsmarine, Volkssturm and Luftwaffe branches. Also more campaigns and scenarios.
One of the things I'm most looking forward to are Soviet partisans. Then the below mini-campaign can be finished and released.
Really looking forward to the module. Lots of cool, interesting content for scenarios and campaigns. Both to be played and created. That's before the modders start and contribute even more to the East Front.

I'm a rookie when it comes to Combat Mission games, having just discovered Battlefront and the series in the beginning of 2020. Red Thunder is definitely a favorite of mine, Like most of y'all I'm intensely looking forward to Fire and Rubble being released. I wanted to see what your Expectations are for Fire and Rubble, what are you excited about, what do you hope to see scenario wise and plans to use this module for since some of you make scenarios and campaigns? etc..

I’m in my early 30’s, purchased CMSF2 on steam, discovered the WW2 collection(especially CMRT) on Battlefront and never looked back.

My thoughts is: BF could have released this module a year or so earlier. But then we would have, a much more meager module!! The content, wich is in it now! Is something we only could have dreamed of, and maybe in for an 2nd module! Now its all there, two mudules in one! And only days/weeks away. So don´t whine!!! Its comming right up your face, with more content than you normally would wish for, from one module!!
With that said, I wishes every one a good day, evening, night, or dawn! Whatever your place on earth is!

I wish I had stumbled across CM series a lot sooner for sure.

For me it was the Close Combat games. I played all of them when I was younger and liked them immensely. I always wondered what they would be like in a 3D engine and with competent AI and then in 2017 I found CMBN and my questions were answered. I only wish that CM had the same kind of operational level game that Close Combat does but the tactical combat blows CC out of the water.

Slitherine and Steam are very enthused about Cold War and played a big part in pushing for the very quick turnaround. Slitherine, being a proper company, is used to operating on deadlines. We're on track to hold up our end of the bargain, what Slitherine and Steam are doing on their end is beyond my field of vision.
Progress on Fire and Rubble, by comparison, is being driven by embarrassment that its taken so long. Its now a matter of self esteem that we get this darned thing out the door at last. A couple months back there was a request for significant 'other' work ('other' work has plagued the F&R schedule) and Charles said no. No more interruptions. We finish what we got and deal with other stuff later.

Does that mean that by the time the game is released, the beta tester have played through it like 5 or 6 times?
What is the difference in regions in the quick battles section? I have changed between different regions but never noticed a difference. What am I missing?
I noticed that anti tank infantry have a hard time spotting tanks, has anyone else noticed this? How do you cope with the dynamic?
I can't wait for fire and rubble. The new uniforms and equipment look awesome. It looks like the game's atmosphere will reflect the stage of the war. I think red thunder will really benefit from the expansion. I forecast that it secures a top spot on the best of CM.
How is the current play through going? Disregard if that breaches some type of confidentiality.

Here's a cheesecake shot of Jagdtiger, staring up the road directly into the morning sun.

While giving Fire & Rubble a look-see this evening I decided to test a semi-recent addition to the game to check for bugs (there were none). I dropped a Jagdtiger on an urban scenario map and had at it. IS-2 vs Jadgtiger at 500m. Yeh... it was fun.
