  1. I lack the Heavy french knowledge (I have perhaps a bit) but I enjoyed the joke nevertheless .
  2. Mon dieu @Falaise my sympathies. You may have seen earlier in the thread that was not my experience of the battle, in which there was no demise. I would say " if at first you dont succeed" but of course that wasn't an option for either side in 1944. Oh, and the Tiger track link is a shame but at least you have the memory.
  3. I can't say that yet as I only turned up in the CM world fairly recently, but I am happy to agree with: John, are we the often mentioned fanboyz ?
  4. Ha, love it. More seriously what you describe sounds very good to me, bring it on please By the way is anyone else getting corrupted icons on the forums today?
  5. I would heartily recommend doing so, but I must stop posting potential spoilers based on my experiences . Having said that if you're giving them 'another go', you will have a good idea what to expect. I am also using hedgerow and tree mods.
  6. Yes I have indeed watched that and yes to the mod prawn. I like the suggestion of @Falaise, particularly as he is our Normandie expert. As an interesting example of use of mods, I was just playing @George MC's excellent Wittmann's Villers Bocage scenario (yes still playing it George but well on the way to finishing, real life is too demanding). Anyway, on a track with bocage on either side, Rambler's mod allowed me to see a couple of gaps with a view down to the railway below. Wittmann and another accompanying Tiger exacted revenge from on high on a Firefly which had earlier taken out one of their colleagues. Excellent moment, all the better for watching the Firefly trying unsuccessfully to decide which Tiger to fire at. I love it when a plan comes together. Now on to Villers Bocage - I have Rolf Mobius providing powerful assistance and have (I think) taken out most of the opposition .
  7. I may have said it before but I'm very glad you're okay (and long may that continue). Also very glad to have the Winter Mod, a fine piece of work.
  8. I've just started having a look at Rambler's Trees and Bocage mod (with thanks to @Rambler I assume). If you haven't seen it, it thins out foliage on trees, or on both trees and bocage. Interesting as it is probably more accurate than the dense impenetrable vision blocks in some situations, but perhaps not in others. Here's the link in case it's news to anyone: https://www.thefewgoodmen.com/cm-mod-warehouse/combat-mission-battle-for-normandy/cmbn-scenery/ramblers-trees-bocage/ P.S. In another thread the theme was why bother using mods, LOL can't stop myself.
  9. So determined they are prepared to go without socks It's a fair point though, I would not replicate that move unless I had no other choice.
  10. No worries, hope you get it sorted.
  11. So right in timescale for BN, as I have found to my cost in a lot of scenarios and have likewise benefitted from in others. My behaviour has been suitably modified.
  12. The effectiveness of Panzerschreks, Panzerfausts, PIATs and Bazookas gives me pause for thought in any of these situations. It's all too easy to lose your armour assets to a couple of squaddies with one of these weapons.
  13. Very glad you're now back in the game. I'm 100% WW2 though, so no help at all. Anyway, enjoy the learning experience
  14. My curiosity is peaked as I'm not either. Can't say I like bocage much anyway from a tank perspective, but that's not the point. Sounds like you have a cunning plan in mind, or that your jedi powers will evolve sufficiently to transform those large angular ever-green hedges?
  15. Hi Jimbob, welcome. I see why you posted your issue here but it might be worth also posting it in the General Discussion Technical Help forum as well. I don't have SF2 yet so apologies I can't really comment on the issue. Of course someone more knowledgeable than me (it's not hard) such as @BFCElvis may be able to shed more light on it.
  16. Probably way too late, but the screenshot problem is a common issue. Try using the capture feature in your Nvidia software instead of the Windows Printscreen - Alt-F1 works in mine.
  17. @Aragorn2002 we've discussed it before of course and I understand your frustration, but I also agree with: In my case that's CMBN
  18. That's a valid point, demo is engine 3, game is now engine 4. Not sure if that explains the behaviour though.
  19. Have replied to the same post in the technical help section...
  20. I remember playing that scenario in the demo. I didn't really know what I was doing at the time so may have missed it, but I don't recall the behaviour described with the infantry. As far as I can remember my infantry gun didn't get into the action either, but I thought at the time that was due to lack of targets. Did your arc cover the target both in angles and distance? Unless someone says otherwise I don't think you can grind the enemy infantry under your tracks - I try to keep a healthy distance anyway if I can. You may be able to recover the MG if your original crew are wounded. Place the ammo carriers (or another infantry unit) 'on top' of the wounded crew and they should in a short while perform medic / buddy aid action, part of which is recovery of weapons / ammo. No guarantees though, and I haven't tried it with ammo carrier units but I assume it's the same as for other infantry units. As for buying the game, I would totally recommend it.
  21. A couple of examples... Just now in a slow moment I was wondering why since I got the BN big bundle I haven't touched RT? Never mind, it's there when I need (want) it. And then while looking at a photo of a knocked out Tiger in Villers Bocage (a load screen obviously) I thought I could rotate the view to check hit decals. I could go on, but I suppose what I'm saying is these games are great. There we are, my positivity side shines through .
  22. Great to see you're still working on this, I'm loving the flora as I blast Shermans and Cromwells
  23. Yes it has a lot of good features and for a hex-based game was visually okay back in its early days. UI is rather clunky but that's not so unusual.
  24. OMG - hope you can all stay safe over there! Looking forward to better times...
