  1. But I thought videos were a no-no? A -5 offence no less
  2. Okay so with many thanks to @Lucky Strike I have the campaign and the first 6 scenarios which will be enough to see if it still gets me excited. Also in the properties of the read me file I found the author name James Govostes at J&G Associates. A search for him showed me that I'm not the first to look: http://www.theblitz.org/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=73722 https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=975126&mpage=1&key=&#2014997 Seems the last version anyone had has all of 23 scenarios but still unfinished and it sounds like Jim had moved on to other things. Further searching has revealed he is on LinkedIn... the plot thickens, a contact might be possible but perhaps I'll try the campaign again first.
  3. Sadly my weary brain no longer has that information . If I find out, I'll post here (albeit in the wrong forum).
  4. Thanks - I have an offer of help from Lucky_Strike so I may be okay. You make a good point about the real General Discussion forum, apologies for my bad
  5. @IanL thanks, I'll look at getting a cable. @Lucky Strike thanks also - have DM'd you (possibly twice, sorry). Agreed, it may be so ancient that my memory of it is better than the reality. Cheers!
  6. I totally agree it's not a big problem (particularly when the map loads faster than I'm told it should), and have selected my favoured option
  7. Good to see some figures and pictures showing quality. Your comments were of course noted .
  8. I could possibly have tried another forum but everyone here is so helpful, so... Can anyone remember a campaign for Talonsoft's West Front (now under the John Tiller Campaign series name of course) based on the impossible task faced by 12th SS in Normandy? From memory it was produced by someone in Canada, and had at least 15 scenarios, but was unfinished when I last downloaded it. It was a memorable experience, with the sense of impending doom from the likes of naval artillery, air power and massed armour. I've looked for it but couldn't find it, although I did find downloadable scenarios at The Blitz website, where I think @IanL moderates. Rather annoyingly I think I have it on an old internal hard drive which sadly is lacking the attached PC to read it - I suppose a cable of some sort might help. Anyway, thanks for any help with what used to be my favourite game series - not any more of course! Which could perhaps suggest I forget about the above and get on with CMBN instead
  9. Interestingly (for me at least ) some scenarios say to be patient as the map will take a long time to load. Doesn't happen, it's almost immediate? Is that because it has been loading the map while I look through the notes? I suppose a quick test might answer the question, but I have the feeling that isn't the reason.
  10. Okay I think I'll do more testing tomorrow . I (as Wittmann) have a pressing engagement with some Allied armour in Villers Bocage...
  11. Okay, tried resetting to balanced. No noticeable difference in load time, and slightly more concerning no perceived difference to visuals in-game. There should be a visual difference right?
  12. Going from improved to best didn't make a noticeable difference for me, but I should try the reverse as well.
  13. Yes, not a big problem but nevertheless... My settings are only on 'improved' at the moment, but will give 'best' a try in a minute and see if I can notice the difference (in game and in load times). Oh and I have a lot of mods for BN, not so many for RT. Whatever's available I suppose as I love mods generally, so many thanks to the modders.
  14. Agreed. When I first started, my allowance was used up by the grand total of just 3 attachments before I read your advice in another thread.
  15. I get the same on BN and RT which is all I have (so far). Haven't got any suggestions on speeding it up unfortunately. I also find that on first startup of BN and RT after my PC has been off, both take quite some time before the BFC screen and then the Menu appear. If I exit either game and later go back in, I don't get the delay. So I assume it's something loading first time which doesn't have to load again the second time? Having said that, it seems rather odd.
  16. Missed this one earlier, thanks again. Downloaded, now have several things to try .
  17. Looks great, downloaded and will give it a try. Thanks for your hard work!
  18. Excellent, will look forward to it. Forgive me for asking but is it for BN, RT, Fire and Rubble etc. or all of the above?
  19. Yes George he's fine so far. His Tiger and a second one are on the left flank (the old road). Was happy with their progress, although I've just noticed a vehicle sound contact on the far left in addition to the many contacts coming out of Villers Bocage (some being contacts no longer ). I re-positioned the other 4 Tigers at the start to deal with the armour which had already passed by. Successfully done, but sadly at the cost of one Tiger due to some sneaky hiding amongst buildings. Great scenario (once again) and the map is excellent, I particularly like the level changes. Thanks again. Any more scenarios in the pipeline (he asks hopefully)?
  20. Does it boil down to 'don't use area fire on 'possible contacts''? If so I think it might not follow historical behaviour? Still loving Villers Bocage by the way .
  21. Google tells me it's Grosvenor Square https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grosvenor_Square in London for those not in the know, but perhaps the use of Google is prohibited ...
  22. I think there might be one person who could catch him . Apologies for the lack of input in this round, opted for some time out after my unrelated video was penalised in the previous competition. Rules are rules of course, even if they are made up as you go along .
  23. Agreed but perhaps scenario designers can give us more time in such situations? I like having a couple of hours in a scenario rather than 30 minutes, but perhaps I'm erring on the cautious side and don't like to overly work my foot soldiers.
  24. Understood my friend, the link has now been added to the original post by Damian so 'alles ist gut'.
