You spend the last 4 years (especially) talking BS about the US and boasting about immortality and invulnerability of your own troops.

A morass is an understatement. It's a complete mess and I'm clueless to why everyone's throwing their hand in.

that and the fact that there seems to be corroborating evidence.  Sounds more like someone decided to leak some info to further embarrass Putin.  He is learning a lesson that no one seems to get before they are in it to deep - don't mire your troops in a political morass unless you really do have an exit strategy.

Just spitballing, but @Saint_Fuller and myself once tried fooling around with the models and animations in CMSF - we were able to get the Black Sea animations working, but the way the models are done between CMSF and CMBS are too different for clean model ports, it seems CMBS models are broken up into different parts. I'm hoping that changes with CMSF2. If it does, we might make a wee port. Nothing to be done with the TO & E, but a small palette swap of the Russian digi to its arid variation and you might be able to sell the point.
Tagging @Sgt.Squarehead because he may be keen to see this.

Issuing a Hull Down command is a two-step process. The first step is plotting the movement. Using the Hull Down Command you plot a movement path usually a short distance past where you want to be hull down because you have to be able to trace direct line of sight from the end of the movement line to wherever you want to be hull down to. That lets you do the second step which is clicking on the waypoint at the end of the movement line and Targeting (or Target Briefly, doesn't matter) the spot you want to be hull down to, same as if you were plotting area fire but in this context the tank won't shoot, it's just how you tell the game where you want to be hull down relative to. The tank will then stop moving when it is hull down to that spot or it reaches the end of the movement line, whichever comes first, but if you do it correctly it should almost always stop prior to the end. But if you don't Target from the endpoint the tank will treat the Hull Down movement command like a normal movement order and drive the full distance every time.

I rarely find the sort of scenario I most like, which is a large or huge battlefield with a very small number of forces. That way the attacker has various points at which to attack, and the defender has to spread their forces and try to anticipate where the attack will come from. Nothing more exciting for me than having a tiny ambush/lookout force encountering the enemy and assessing their strength, and me as commander having to ration out reinforcements from my small reserve to plug a gap...

+1   That also works when one is attacking.   I love having a huge map and starting with recon forces, then having major forces available, but having to decide on transport to the best locations to conduct an attack while simultaneously having to assign sufficient forces elsewhere to defend.  And also having enuff forces to allocate reserves.  (It's a major reason why I still play CM1.  YOu can have up to 8Km x 4Km and more than a Regiment(!) on each side with a few companies of AFV's and many transports and Recon AC's etc.)
BTW:  If anyone is interested, a CMBB "Birthday Bash 13" tourney on a 3Km x 3Km map with above size forces on each side is just starting and has open slots at WeBOB:  https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/webandofbrothers/invitiation-to-participate-in-bb13-round-4-t19054.html

Thanks guys.  Glad y'all like them.  The explosion one was a good catch, especially the flames rippling out from the front on the ground.  Took a little while to get it just right.

Same battle.  Bazooka snap shot failed - no second chances in this game.  Münchbach's crew is living a charmed life so far.

    rocketman,
The show COMBAT! was a black and white TV series, following the exploits of an American squad, led by a grim and seasoned veteran sergeant.  It starred Vic Morrow as the sergeant and Rick Jason as the Lieutenant.  Each of these actors also had a hand in directing some of the episodes.  When color TV came out, they then started filming the show in color.  I am surely dating myself now by referring to black and white TV, haha.

You can see the episodes on YouTube - I think most of them have been posted there.  The show was well done and there were always guest actors, like James Caan, James Coburn, and other big names that appeared.

One of their better episodes was a two-part show where Sgt. Saunders and his men are ordered to take a hill that is critical to their company's advance.  It was entitled "Hills are for Heroes."  Your screenshot reminded me a bit of that episode.  Someone recreated the episode with a CMBO or CMAK scenario years ago.  It was a hoot to play.

The series was well received and lasted for many years with a cult following.  The equipment wasn't always correct, but Hollywood figured no one would notice.  Sometimes the German soldiers appeared with WWI version stahlhelms and water-cooled US machine guns.  The story lines were always pretty good though.

Another of my favorite episodes was Sgt. Saunder's patrol going up against a veteran German sergeant and his patrol.  The veteran German sergeant was played by James Caan.  Caan showed the same concern for his men that Vic Morrow was showing for the US squad.  Nicely done.

Worth a look if you happen to be surfing YouTube for entertainment.

    You missed a line:
"Fast engineer team to within two Action Spots (16 meters) of the flank or rear of the tank.
    Stay Alive!
On their own the team will throw the demo charges at the tank."

They will under the right circumstances. Below is how I generally use engineers against tanks.
I always split the engineers into teams. Make sure the team you use has a demo charge.
Give the engineer/pioneer team a 360o Target Arc (not an Armored Target Arc or the engineers may not fire on the bailed out tank crew).
Fast engineer team to within two Action Spots (16 meters) of the flank or rear of the tank.
On their own the team will throw the demo charges at the tank.
Prepare for the tank crew to bail out shooting.

Yep, they'd respond as best they can to neutralize such a threat.
Yes, in military terms for battle behavior, "trained" is another verb for "aim", "fix", "point", and such.  Specific to weapons, it is the act of bringing the gun(s) to bear upon a target.  Once "trained", guns will "engage" (shoot) until the target is "neutralized" (destroyed).

Hmmm... I had thought StuG behavior had been changed awhile back so the crew wouldn't pop up unless explicitly ordered to unbutton and given a 'target light' command. The late types of Stugs have MG42 embedded in the gun mantlet for proper coaxial 'target light' when buttoned. The earlier types don't and need to unbutton and man the MG for 'target light'.

It doesn't make the Scenario Editor "really weak", although perhaps it's name should be changed to "Scenario Creator and Editor". In the meantime you can go to cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net to find Mad Mike's most recent version of his editor for both scenarios and campaigns.
