  1. Okay so I've had this experience too. I unpacked a couple FR campaigns, edited the troops to be conscript, and then repacked it only to find out my troops had disappeared. That was a nice 30 minutes spent reconing nothing :). As George says, the original core units file is necessary, but there is no way to retrieve the original core units file used when creating the campaign. I am currently stuck with this dilemma too. If there is a solution found I would be interested as well. I think the only real solution is to recreate the core units file, then replace every single unit in the campaign with the new core file troops. This would include setting them back up in the 3d editor.
  2. thank you, this is it. So it's 8 years regardless
  3. What is Russia's policy on recalling troops who finished their contracts already? A large portion of the "reserves" could be this pool of people. Here in the US you can be recalled after you serve. So if you served 5 years then they can recall you back into service even if you were already out for 4 years. I believe the amount of time is the same as you served. This is what I was told by a friend.
  4. For sure. And when I am an old fat guy maybe I'll live to see declassified stuff :)
  5. You can swap maps/scenarios from title to title with a little bit of work. So every new title you buy, those maps become available for all your other titles. There are some limitations but generally works fine.
  6. CMA is 02. But there are a couple very Afghani mountanous like master maps (and way, way more) in a pack recently released for SF2. Your mind will be blown when you see these maps. Check out Liveload's June 24th post.
  7. You're able to buy it now from the Battlefront.com store, and then when it releases on Steam you will receive free keys for CMBN on there too. That way you can play the game in the meantime as Ian said. This goes for all of the CM games except Afghanistan. I don't know if that one will be going over to Steam.
  8. Do you mean you don't have access to the file? If so I can send it over
  9. Ok well, when I opened my US file and submitted it with my orders - I saw it in both my incoming and outgoing folders. But when I opened my Soviet file and submitted it I don't see it on my PC. Ok sure it goes to slitherines servers, but why did the US game save to my hdd but not the Soviet? At this point I have sent the Soviet file twice. Once on the 5th, and once on the 6th. I haven't received anything from my opponent. I have emailed them though.
  10. it totally does. I don't think any gun in CM has a better aspect ratio than the MT-12. This gun has been telling lots of lies
  11. Dude those T-62s are totally on the front wtf
  12. I have not seen the "Please do not touch" message yet but I am having issues as well. Like a dummy I both started a little late, and because of that I did not fully read the rules initially. Afterward I saw this at the bottom of the webpage: "leave all password fields blank.". I figured out my US file had an empty password made for me, but like a dummy I set a password for the Soviet side.
  13. Oh wow I remember this from a while back. From CMBN? I definitely had a look at this one!
  14. This is exactly why the gamers did better. If you applied real military tactics to CM I'm sure they would work really well. You would have a much more balanced game with consistently better results.
  15. WimO's maps (Known as Kandu on FGM) are perfect for troubleshooting pathfinding issues in extremely dense hedgerow if that interests you two. I am playing a 2v2 right now and we are experiencing a few pathfinding issues, I have solved all mine though, as well as picking up all of my dead. But that micromanaging is just for crazy people anyway
  16. This usually works, but sometimes you have to set waypoints on both sides of an offending hedgerow to free up the stuck soldier first
  17. Yeah so it was my opponent's troops. He is playing as the Germans and the teams that ran into the open were HMG teams. I have never noticed the activity on any game except CMBN. I am digging up turns now, already found one, but I will let my opponent contact you since we are still playing our game.
  18. I havent experienced the running aside them bug but I'm not much of a hedgerow player. Sparse hedge has always been fine for me. But dense hedgerow will produce a bunch of stragglers
  19. I imagine it's a visual effect from the camera's shutter speed. If you watch helicopter rotors on video they appear to move very slowly. This is due to the limitation of the cameras hardware.
  20. You will want to consider CMSF even more now that a forum member just dropped like 10 high detail master maps for CMSF2. (And two for CMBS)
  21. Yep playing a 2v2 right now and I've had teams fiddling in the back lines trying to regroup at hedgerow openings. Its a couple guys sure but I lose track of my formations because the icons are further back to adjust
  22. It's still very prevalent in CMBN. Can't speak for this game in particular.
