  1. They slope outwards slightly before they reach the rim unlike the WW1 helmet.
  2. Ah, Dartford Mick and the Tax Dodgers, played in my hometown in 1964.
  3. 2016 would sound about right for the release date. Being a late comer to CMx2 I still had a lot of stuff to play on Engine 2. It wasn't until the end of 2017 that I bought v.3, the Vehicle Pack, and the Battle Pack all in one go. All I can confirm is that the problems weren't introduced to the campaign with any upgrade, they've been there since the beginning sadly.
  4. It does look a bit strange. But, I just like to think that the painter had just a bit too much wine with his lunch.
  5. Hopefully the year ahead will see an end to a certain someone calling Steve and Charles "Motherf*ckers" on youtube.
  6. Not with me in command they don't. I like using them for reducing buildings to rubble, a kind of hard core recon by fire.
  7. Nah, 'fraid not. The first time I played it a couple of years back I was running Engine 3. And if you read the post that Myles made above you'll see that the problem existed when the Battle Pack was released, and that he was hoping that it had been fixed by now.
  8. They haven't lost any transport. The infantry platoon in the 2nd mission are making their first appearance in the campaign, and I think the same applies to the company featured in the 3rd mission. You can't fit a whole platoon in one Bedford if you want a full headcount. And I don't know why the missing men aren't showing up on foot.
  9. I've now thrown in the towel on my re-run of this campaign. When I fired up the 3rd mission I encountered the missing flame thrower problem. I re-started a couple of times and eventually got my flamethrowers. But then I noticed that the pioneers were a couple of men light. And when I looked at C Company none of it's Platoons were at full strength. Either the HQ's or mortars were missing, Or they were there, but the number of riflemen had dropped. It has finally dawned on me why this is happening. It isn't that the OOB is changing per se. It is down to a lack of vehicles to carry your troops. There aren't enough trucks, jeeps, and carriers for your units if they are at full strength. Or put another way, not enough seats for bums. I don't have the skill design wise to prove this. But my hunch is that if your infantry arrived on foot they would be at full strength.
  10. Sadly, you are mistaken. The Battle Pack only takes us into the autumn of '44.
  11. Just one thing to ask. You say that your tank "was trapped there". But you don't say for how many turns, or if you tried to "untrap it". When this kind of things happens to me I give my tanks a reverse command. They don't back off of the bridge but will reverse along the railway track at a 90 degree angle. Then at the start of the next turn I can move them forward down off of the railway embankment. It might not work on all maps, but it is something to think about for the future.
  12. There is a battle included in the pack called "Hobart's Funnies" which makes use of the Churchill flame throwers. If you want more "funnies" to play with you might want to take a look at a player made campaign called "For King and Country" if you've not already tried it.
  13. I think that the Battle Pack was great idea in principle. Especially considering how few new battles stemmed from the Vehicle Pack. I think that where Jon fell down was putting so much effort into the six fictional Linnet battles, and the Waterloo one. I'd have preferred a top notch campaign, and fewer, but more closely historical battles.
  14. I haven't seen any posts from the designer Jon Sowden in a long time. He put a lot of work into the Battle Pack, just a shame that the glitches in the campaign didn't get sorted. And it would be nice if he was still around to chip in to this thread.
  15. I'm not sure why the campaign designer has made this mission quite so tough as he has. From what I've read although the British had to fight in the streets of Vernon, and faced some dug in forces during the river crossing. But in clearing the forest they only met scattered resistance. Also, I think at least part of this map was taken by the Worcesters.
  16. I remember that mission. Luckily for me instead of advancing right across the map, I threw everything down the right, thus avoiding that bridge.
  17. You've answered your own question. It's too far out. I'm off to eat some wait 'n' see pie.
  18. I remember from two years ago when I first tried it that every battle is tough. Although unlike some campaign you can take a few defeats without it terminating early. I think that it is the fourth battle that is a must win.
  19. I took the sawmill, hit cease fire and found the same problem. Objective ticked on the result screen, but no points awarded. So I'm going to restart the mission and ignore that objective. Just throw everything down the right. Wish me luck.
  20. If the problems haven't been addressed. And I might call at Cease Fire at Don. I certainly don't like the idea of taking it and not getting the points for it. One thing I remember from a couple of years ago was calling in arty in a forest is a real pain. And I suffered a bit of friendly fire. I've never read a detailed account of the fight through the Foret de Vernon, so I don't know how accurate this mission is. But, I will battle on for the time being and see what happens.
  21. As a Limey I feel that I have the right to say that "Oliver" was an awful movie. The kind of thing that my dad had to drag me to just because I had an older sister.
