I'm sure if CMSF2 sells well, new modules wouldn't be out of the question. Hell, with recent events they could drop the Russians from CMBS into redfor and only need to make it era appropriate (Drones, APS) and include Russian desert camo and vehicle paint.

I'd like to see some footage of the Syrian combat debut. I think between memories of Grozny and what we've seen happen to the Syrian AFV fleet in urban terrain, this was a logical choice for the Russians once they had an opportunity to test it in the field.

My thoughts exactly! CMBS and CMFI are my two favourite titles! I'd love to send a Ranger battalion up some of those hills or mountains!

Well I meant moreso that someone who knows what they are doing could just upload the converted QB maps somewhere so anyone can download it and simply drop them into the proper folder.

Firing airburt 203mm to no effect on BTR 70s is pretty damn disheartening. I'd like it if you could at least degrade radios and radars.

I also have this issue on (forgive me) the really long and narrow QB map, with the road going through fields and then down into a village in the middle.

Chaulk me down as Day One for CMSF2 as well. One quibble about Canadian artwork: Most guys deployed to Afghan rotos in '10 with temperate CADPAT frag vests, tac vests, camelbacks or all three! Will the mast on Coyotes be represented in some way? To at least notionally get to the topic at hand - The RG's we were lend leased by the Americans came in desert and not temperate paint.

Lots of good Osprey titles on the forces of the Russian Federation. The Elite series has a book on Spetznez and a book on the Ground Forces that just came out, they're top notch!

In the Lend-Lease thread in CMRT there were some updates recently, CMSF2 is coming, no CMBS module on the near-horizon.

Starting to deploy only to find your Marine combined arms unit is just a weapons company in Humvees and a platoon of empty Amtracs! That and Dutch units being almost only engineers for some reason.

I was hoping to see the Canadians in Shock Force again before I get out of the Canadian Army! Time to add my name to the names file. Thanks for the info!

Could it be a result of the timeline and theatre? Was the Heer so shattered in 1944-45 on the Eastern Front that there aren't reliable doccuments? Or maybe units were so divergent from their established TO&E that the scenarios and campaigns need specific, detailed research? Just speculating here. I think most of us remember CMFI falling behind on the engine update because of the OOB changes involved.

Dragon Age: Origins took 5 years, Morrowind took 6, Half-Life 2 took 5. Of course besides being some of the most successful and acclaimed games ever they also had large budgets and staff, which I know isn't the case here. I can understand the time between content. What I can't understand is the lack of communication. Paradox is (was?) a niche developer that makes titles in a small genre for a dedicated group of fans, and they still produce weekly development diaries.

I'm not asking for weekly (or monthly) Dev Diaries, but I would like to know what's going on. Even if it's not showing off new maps, equipment, vehicles etc. I would be happy to read about planned campaigns or maybe see a campaign flow chart with the briefing maps.

Guess what was just spotted in Syria...

I was certainly surprised by the CMBS battle pack. I would just like to know if I should be thinking about VDV/MP/Marines for CMBS, Rome to Victory for CMFI, the Battle of the Scheldt for CMFB, or Warsaw to Berlin (?) in CMRT. There was no Christmas bone this year if I recall, and if you look back at the forums the Bones and Beta AARs really helped the community get excited for new modules.

I know this might make me a rube, but the wait for modules for each game has let me branch out an explore the other titles. I started with CMFI, picked up RT and BS and picked up the modules for all three as they came out. I was lucky because whenever I had completed campaigns and started to run out of things to do in one title, a module would come out for the others. The CMBS battle pack has made the wait for FI and RT modules a little easier. I know there's still Normandy and Final Blitzkrieg, but I would rather go deeper with the titles I have now, for the time being.
