  1. I hope I didn't come off like I needed to know exactly WHY he left, that is none of my business. I was just commenting on the fact that we didn't know when he had left! I hope hes doing better and thanks for these answers Steve.
  2. Yeah having Chris leave was very sudden and kind of cryptic, we didn't know he was gone until a month or two after. I hope he comes back eventually, until then it would be nice to have someone like a beta tester to provide a bit of community outreach for Battlefront.
  3. I actually had that originally, but I felt like it implied that it wasn't THAT popular already
  4. I still have to make my obligatory "Combat Mission would be very popular if it was advertised more or offered on other websites" post. Ok, done.
  5. Who did matrix games or slitherine sell out to? They're still around and going strong.
  6. We'll need a south pacific islander whose just made contact with the modern world to write about the war in Ukraine, its only way to be fair and unbiased.
  7. So...because you don't agree with it its propaganda? Got it! Glad we're all interested in facts around here.
  8. Errr, I don't think thats right at all. That humvee with an observation device has multiple levels of zoom, its for observing any kind of position... BFC told us why they couldn't do it, it had something do with a pixel truppens eyeballs having to line up with the sensor, in this case if it was a mast mounted sensor it would look awkward having a pair of eyes floating. Not sure why they cant be made to be invisible but thats what I remember.
  9. The Tibet thing was just a joke...they don't literally mean they can't hit Tibet. Its like saying the only thing we can't hit is the moon, implying that we can basically hit everything. I mean its not hard to imagine a cruise missile, a missile specifically designed to fly far and hit a target can fly about 1000nm. I believe CMANO puts the newest Tomahawks range at 1500nm. This is roughly the same for the Russian Kalibr cruise missile they've been firing at Syria for the past couple years. None of this should be a surprise to anyone thats interested in this kind of stuff, especially if your in the intelligence community in Russia or the US. Edit: Duchess brought up the Ohio SSGN earlier, one of those carries about 150 Tomahawks, so I mean you could do serious damage to Syrian and Russian airbase infrastructure with one of those for example.
  10. Oh come on there wont be any incidents. Everyone there is just having fun, that's why its an exercise
  11. Can we get a confirmation that this is at least being looked at?
  12. Well...this has been enlightening. So anyway, I heard the Abrams has a 120mm gun...and THE RUSSIANS HAVE A 125? HOW COULD WE LET THIS HAPPEN?
  13. I have a feeling you guys are wasting your key strokes...
  14. Sniper teams are good for reconnaissance, and calling for fire. You can use them against the enemy anyway you want, some sniper teams have anti-material rifles that are good against light APC's.
  15. Sniper teams have sniper rifles, that's the primary difference to an Forward Observer team. FO's generally call in artillery and air support faster, there isn't really a way to decrease the time for a call for fire. The fastest way is to use a FO vehicle such as a Bradley BFIST, which usually comes with communications equipment and FO's. Forward Air controllers also call in air support faster. Edit: Electronic warfare interference also effects the time taken for artillery/cas calls.
  16. Yup that's intended, the German army at this point is really scraping the barrel and the TOE reflects that in some units.
  17. You're kidding right? He shoots down all your arguments with facts (not to mention the fact hes done tours in that region from a carrier no less), especially the one about an amphibious invasion of mainland China which is bonkers and you say hes being ignorant enough of you to ignore him? I would read up on the technology of both nations and there capabilities so you would understand the naval and air aspect is what would decide things in the region, not the 1st MEU landing in China. Jesus.
  18. NATO tanks had thermals in 1985, especially the Abrams . But yeah Combat Mission: Fulda Gap is my dream game.
