  1. Ok Bil, hope you find necessery motivation. Am heading my friend, new CM player to your blog to learn the art of war.
  2. Bil, shameless bump. How's the Combat Mission Tactical Problems going - been some time since you made any addittion to it.
  3. Erwin, as far as I know there was no official confirmation it will be fixed nor that it needs fixing.
  4. So now comfirmed missing units bug is in the Scottish campaign so that one is not to be played until patched. Will my current savegames work when (if) it gets updated? Is all ok with MG campaigns? Cant wait to get the battlepack where all the content will be harmonious with what current game engine plus vehicle pack can offer! Feeling a bit at a loss playing existant campaigns and scenarios seeing many not so well made maps, knowing triggers aren't there, no special VP units present, scenarios and ampaigns proba ly being thrown a bit off the balance, etc.
  5. This thread got me play JonS' Sherrif Osterbeek scenario. I never got it going for real due to unit and map size but I just had to check what awaits us in store. So far I am loving it.
  6. Thany guys - Platoon patrol in wego it is then.
  7. Hi good people of the community. Up until now I was only playing singleplayer but now my friend is getting ready to undergo a H2H match. I will need your help to advise me best course of action. We both have 3.11 game engine and all modules plus the vehicle pack. This friend of mine is a beginner with the game so I suppose smaller unit count scenario is in order. He's into Germans so he will want play them for his first run. I am more experienced then him so scenario should be easier for the German player. Woulf you be so kind to suggest us a suitable vanilla game or user made scenario. Should we play in RT or wego? Saw there is one user made H2H help program - how does it help exactly? Thank you.
  8. This is superb news Jon! Thank you for your work. Looking forward to all the nicely done maps...
  9. Odin, Battlefront blocks certain IP's not per what individual said or did but per how the particular IP is tagged in the IP risk assesment list. Mine was banned to for some time. Sometimes whole geo regions are banned and not just some IP's from the area. It also depends on what safety measures your IP provider has. So it's not personal as you can see. Also Battlefront can't control the IP block list - it's their provider who does.
  10. Thank you very much!!! Now is the time to grab this work of love people!
  11. Oooooh, I'm defenitely getting the battle pack for CMBN, thank you so much Battlefront!
  12. So you deployed only tanks in and around village while you sacrified the infantry where it was?
  13. Nope, no sales for battlefront. Bden said so ny the devs on some occassions now.
  14. Sublime, USA was/is more under the spotlight 'cos it is #1 global player who proclaims itself to be one of the "good guys" while it's actions are sometimes somewhat "debatable". Russia is making up for it with it's Ukrainian debacle so USA is less under global attention now.
  15. Yes, complicated, especially on the Balkans. Lacroix, you should start your story about Albanians in the 60's when their nationalistic tensions started to surge and Tito had to violently surpress the protests. They were slowly going towards their independence ever since. Unfurtunately for them it only got them a failed state and dreams of "it's going to be a paradise when we get our own country" shattered completely.
  16. I wholly agree Steve. Longer lasting ideal situation can not be achieved since the way universe works is a constant change, fluctuation and perfect state is only a dream, if at all then it happens only for a very brief moment but is generally only something that we can strive for but not really reach. Striving for better can in the end actually make things better but not without tough obstacles on the way. True, true but I can never get past the notion it's being somewhat overused and abused. That's my totally uneducated and maybe also naive guess and gut feeling. And I think that is what Lethaface is hinting too in his posts. I know. I also know there is a degree of how misused such actions can get or were and also know that they are necessary. This was not an attack on USA or you personally. Whoever can, will. But there is a degree which we can debate on and I'm well aware USA is using it on a less lower scale then any other global or regional power contestants would. Still, this does not make it all good and is as such ripe for our debate. I fully agree. If I can extend it let me give this simple example. The way many peoplein Eastern Europe see USA and it's capabilities is simply funny and idiotic. For example, CIA and FBI are seen as unmistakable and omnipotent. This view is stupid as hell and not at all in line with reality but then again as long people will bite it it will give USA a bigger leverage then it actually has so in a way that's positive for it. A relative of mine was working for Saddam in Yugoslavian times (in the 80's) as a construction firm contractor. He was building bunkers and other military infrastructure. He got a similar impression of the local people there so I fully understand and agree with your notion about them. Such things just show you even more how some tings are better left to be not touched. Yes, I understood this about you before already and for that I personally hold you in high regard if that means anything to you. I also fully agree with the notion USA army actions are way more soft-handed then of most other armies out there. Still, it could get better and that is also why I'm having this discussion with you right now. Yeah, my views too. They were on par with Germans when it comes to committed atrocities, on many levels they even surpassed the Germans - they only got bailed out 'cos they won the war on the "right" side. I also have a rather veeeery unpleasant feeling when I see WW2 "partisan" memorial events here in Slovenia since things are oftentimes presented too one-sided, still. All in all it's crazy to put so much effort into celebrating things that were instead of channeling energy into a more healthy future.
