  1. Lost any visual quality by going "application controlled" or not?
  2. AstroCat, what if you set the NCP settings to "Application controlled"? Get any more frames out of it? Do you lose visual quality if doing so?
  3. haha, epic pic with the Germans on the hill and lone unit awaiting them.
  4. Fire up Combat Mission, make your GF/wife play it and then make daily reports of her progress/failings. Oh wait, you could play it yourself to... Congratz Baneman, you are my hero! You were the clear underdog and I have a knack for cheering for the side which has lesser chances to win. Didn't really believe you would make it especially not with such big armor disparity.
  5. Baneman, hats off to you! Bravo. Now stay focused for god's sake!
  6. Carlwaw and AstroCat, you should swap this savegame file and then see how much frames does Astrocat get using the same ingame settings. I personally wouldn't bother with fraps but because I was/am experiencing non smooth gameplay with sometimes delayed mouse inputs I resorted to fraps to measure it and see what frames are cpnsidered too low for my eyes. When fps is 27 I already spot non smoothness, when 24 it's bordering still acceptable but already ruining my immersion, below 20 is a no go any more. Just my personal peet pevees. Not saying this is everyone elses experience.
  7. That was already done . Thread is to be found in the CMBN tech forum.
  8. Ha, I suppose that I would have to changr my words to "reasonable map sizes and unit numbers" then wjatewer that might be.
  9. Knowing which hardware combos allow the game to run 30 FPS or more constantly with all the setting maxed out in any available map size and unit numbers would be of much interest to me.
  10. Yeah, the blur line is what I was referring to. Hope Steve was actually talking about the blur line and not something else.
  11. Draw distances are affected on my rig when capping the FPS - I just made a test. Used the same ingame option settings and went into the same saved game, used the same screen capture point from the same level height but first time used the "Half refresh rate for Vertical Synch" (30 FPS cap) in my Nvidia panel and then went with the "Use the 3D application setting". With the 30 FPS cap the drawing distance was shorter then without it. Attaching photos below. Ingame option settings (remained the same throughout the test): Drawing distance with Half refresh rate for Vertical Synch (30 FPS cap): Drawing distance without the half refresh rate (ie FPS not capped): Comparing the two screenshots you can see the drawing distance before the terrain switches to low resolution textures is quite shorter when you cap FPS to 30. The plus is though that the game is stuttering less and is more responsive to mouse commands (going up and down the height levels is particularly less responsive when the game is not capped) . How do I set the FPS to 31 in order to avoid shorter drawing distances? I have Nvidia card.
  12. Amazing turn of events, yiiiiiiwhaaaa! Now keep focused. You've got many flies to bag.
  13. Doesn't capping it at 30 make the drawing distance much shorter? Like if you would have 3D setting on balanced or even less...
  14. move your armored assets supporting each other closeby. Moving sole tank asks for trouble. Good luck!
  15. Yeeeeees Baneman, you did it! Wooohooo, hats off to you! Try not to get too eager now, fight only just begun. Good luck.
  16. Hold tight Baneman! And try to advance your tanks in pairs or even better - in triple. That way they have a better chance at killing the foe and getting away with less losses. Haven't you read Bil's tactical blog?
  17. I concur, really good presentation of what is going on Baneman! BTW, I hope you are utilising hull down position of your armor assets as much as possible on those owerwatch positions.
