  1. The caiber should be the same...50 mm. And the low number is normal as far as i know...it is somewhat random IIRC but always pretty low... Did the gun survive ?
  2. Yeah... That has to be a typo... (HighExplosiveAntiTank)
  3. Yepp...i guess it does ... I guess that we can all be glad that the germans insisted on making misstake after misstake when it comes to the 'big picture'... Perhaps not so much applicable to CM but rather WITE2 when it gets released...it will be intresting to try various variations of the historical decisions made...
  4. Apart from the eastern front i'm actually longing back to Normadie... Hopefully we will see some new scenarios and campaigns depicting the Normandy fighting that take advantage of all the modules and the vehichlepack...as well as all the improvements that has been made to the editor and gameplay... It is currently quite a different game compared to when the original Normandy stuff was made... Could be intresting
  5. Combine that with David Glantz Stalingrad triologi and Jason D. Marks Death of the leaping horsemen and you will have a decent understanding of the Stalingrad fighting...
  6. If you are comparing the stock scenarios that comes with the modules then it should actually be the other way around... Early CMBN scenarios did not have the bennefit of triggers and only half the amount of AI groups compared to RT... Further improvements have been made over the years...SF2 and RTV also benefits from added AI options like area fire, withdraw and face commands as well as more AI order slots... All games have since been updated to the latest standard so they all have the same features for use in future scenarios...
  7. Markshot... If you like small/tiny scenarios then take a look at... SeinfeldRules scenario thread If you have not already. These are some of the best small scenarios around imo...
  8. IMHO if you are looking for "suspense" and hope to get it from playing your own CM2 scenarios...I belive you will be dissapointed. No matter how many AI plans they might have... If you get an idea for a scenario into your head and want to se how that set-up would play out...sure...design it ! play it...but "suspense"...probably not... The greatest "suspense" or reward you can expect to get from designing your own scenario is to see if you will be able to design it to work in the way you had intended...It can be quite challeging and rewarding if you succed. Then share it with the comunity ! and play someone elses scenario...
  9. I think i might have miss-read you question somewhat... What you can do...is to load the QB maps into the editor and use them in a scenario... What you can NOT do is to load a QB file with selected units and all and tweek that... No saved games can be loaded into the editor...unfortunatelly... That would be usefull for many reasons...
  10. Yes... Simply load the map into the editor... Then you can tweek it however you chose... Remember to remove any unwanted AI plans...
  11. I kind of miss the CM1 leaders also...
  12. A few more reasons... - CM makes it somewhat more difficult to properly judge LOS/LOF compared to RL. - Inability to areafire at certain areas of the map because of some terrain feature...that IRL only would provide minor problems. - Difficulty to get the supporting weapons to use linear or area...areafire. It's pretty much only point...areafire.
  13. I like the german tankdestroyers...all of them ! ... I think they are cooler then reglar tanks.
  14. A few reasons i can think of that might contribute to higher casulties... - time...in many scenarios the time limit might be shorter then what it would have been IRL. - lack of micro management...especially in larger scenarios we might not split the squads up as much as desirable to avoid micromanagment. - carelesness...we might not take the time to make sure we have base of fire/suppresion and otherwise security in place to a simular degree as we would have done IRL. - WEGO...the AI might not react to unfortuness events during the one minute turns as well as a RL human would. - Abstractions....things like fighting in and around buildings does not really give the playrer quite the same level of control as IRL. - IRL a squadleader would handle the squad...a platoonleader would handle the platoon etc...in CM you as for example a battalion commander is forced to handle every little detail yourself of your reinforced battalion...every turn. The finer detailes might be missed every now and then ...
  15. I think if you compare the whole force and not simply one vehichle vs another then the difference might be somewhat more noticable...hopefully
  16. For me a Barbarossa, early eastern front game would not only be about the equipment either...the setting would add a lot also...the 'story' behind the missions would be more involving...
  17. If we someday will be able to play co-operative multiplayer...then RT will be a far more intresting option imo... Preferably combine this with an option to watch THE WHOLE battle as a movie (with FOW toggled on or off) after the fight... Being able to flip between the various units...both friendly and enemy.
  18. Getting kills with hand held AT weapons is always nice ... And I actually LIKE the Stummels...like you said...if you can keep them alive they are quite useful...its a nice challange to try to keep them from dying. What i fear...larger assultguns would be one...
  19. CC3 was the first tactical-ish ...computergame i played...i had great fun with it but i remember thinking for my self "if only this game was 3D"...then one day by chans i spotted some pictures of CMBO on the net..."oooohhh....what the he...l is this !!...my,my, my...this looks exactelly like something i'm wishing for...i gotta have this ! ". I managed to find some AARs on the net (by Fionn Kelly i belive) and got even more exited... I searched all the gamingshops in my own and neihhboring towns and finaly found a boxed copy ... I"ve been hocked ever since...
  20. If we ever get to play the early eastern front years in CM2 something simular ought to be considdered.... To simulate the complete mess that was russian C2 at that time... And by the way CMBB is one of the best computetgames ever made imo...for it's time....AWESOME !
  21. Have you played the games until the end ? Or only for a few turns ? I belive that in some QBs the AI may not do all that much in the initial part of the scenario...
  22. A trigger only tells the AI when to move...not where... On large. huge maps having the AI to be in the right place...at the right time...with an addaquet force becomes rather tricky...
  23. PERSISTANT MAP-DAMAGE might be a good cure for this decease... If we could use large maps and play several shorter battles on the same map might make it somewhat easier on the AI...
  24. Could NE and NW be hidden objectives ? I don't remember if those as visible after the battle... They are not visible during the game atleast..
