I checked but don't see any smoke rules in PzC. You can try it at the CM level only. -

I rolled a die and you do not get any air support for turn 1. I made up a chart for die roll for allied air support: die roll 1 thru 3 is no missions. die roll 4 is 1 air recce mission die roll 5 is 1 attack mission die roll 6 is 1 of each. If you get it, you can use it during the PzC turn only and must call out a hex.. Air recce mission is 1 aircraft. Attack mission is 5 aircraft. -

Units placed in your desired start positions. Ready for turn 1 moves. Yellow arc is your 4.2" heavy mortars max range. Blue arcs are movement range for the various groupings. Possibly based on more units set as "recon" type units you have more enemy units spotted. In San Donato, an AA gun unit with X guns as well as an infantry unit with XX men. In San Leonardo, an AA gun with X guns. In 2,5 an AT gun with X guns and an infantry unit with XX men. -

They all promised to stay clear. So you can use this one OR feel free to create one of your very own. I prefer we stay here. Axis side players have been told they may do an AAR if they desire. I am giving them guidance in an FGM private thread. -
I Love them! Very nice of you. Thanks so much for the bail out... You should work for a car dealership? Looks like an ad for "The sports coupe, the station wagon and the sedan."

STATUS: Chappy has issued me his specific map start positions and tonight I will get all the PzC units in place. Then he can work out his actual turn 1 moves. Will any of those moves lead to a turn 1 CM PBEM battle? Stay tuned! -

No problem. We'll get the bugs worked out of this as we go through the first turn or 2. I appreciate you taking on the CO duties. -

It is a PzC map and therefore unfortunately I cannot edit it. Can't change elevations, can't add towns or graphics. In fact it is not even Ortona and not even Italy. It is borrowed from PzC Salerno's Crete Map. I shopped around until I found the best match to the Ortona map's needs. A river leading to the sea near a small city with a few towns near the river and a highway along the coast. I think it will work fine. Here is what I think the PzC map shows for elevations. Game is at home. Red areas being higher than the orange areas. -

Bravo! Bravo! Where do we head now? -
That last post sort of hits on something I was thinking to ask you. Have you played any CMRT scenarios/campaigns and if so how well do the force mixes (scenario author's unit purchases) correlate to your understanding of Soviet doctrine? Any major flubs you see that we can avoid? We don't have motorcycles so maybe use jeeps?

Maybe too bad you don't have any offspring Bud. This would make a great Father's Day present. A real professional printing on good paper and binding for Dad's coffee table? Hmm, I am curious, what are the legal aspects of the screenshot images? Can it be rolled into and sold as a comic book as long as there'd be a blurb in there to give credit to BFC? I know you don't want to Bud! Just discussion purposes for a non-legal guy. Are there not guys on youtube who play videogames all day and just make verbal commentary as they play but somehow make money from the images? Anyway, come on Dima! -

Hi Jaeger, That is a great turn rate. We'll put you down as a back-up for sure and if we can't get you a battle with this Ortona Operation, the CMRT Operation is in the prep stage still and you can get in on that. Thanks! -

Remy appears to have made his CMBN purchase so I guess he no longer needs any responses to convince him! -

Here is the revised org chart. All rifle coys are now from RCR and there are the support platoons as well. A full field squadron of Engineers. A full squadron of shermans. It ends up being 5 troops of 3 each = 15 shermans. 2 troops of recon. I will e-mail you the CMFI file so you can look at the rough draft of the forces. I selected typical but have not gone through and adjusted any experiences/motivation YET. But at least you can change any names you want and see how you might like to distribute stuff out to the rifle coys. -

I made a few edits to the map. Added another strip of tiles down at the bottom below San Leonardo and renamed San Vito to San Donato. Chappy is still doing his set-up but here is what he can see from that edge where he gets to start. He can see a hex with improved positions and a hex with X number of guns. -

No problem. Just describe the end effect you hope to see and I will see how I can best make it so. But be warned you might get stonked by enemy artillery. As soon as you tell me your set-up I will report back what your units see. Oh, hold on. I still owe you the new org chart with all rifle companies as part of RCR. Headed to work, so it will be later today.
