  1. They are huddling together and we should have a new screenshot for you later today to show what is visible to your troops.
  2. @Jurpo Can you take the lead and start a Tunisia Mod? Just a normal style mod not a BFC product. This link here is pure chutzpah. sdp (Michael) cracked out an Italian mod to CMBN. http://community.battlefront.com/topic/98227-released-the-italian-campaign-mod/?hl=italy Then we are all knocked flat on our a$$es when BFC releases out of the blue it seems to me, CMFI. Does my memory fail me? Anybody else agree? OUT OF THE BLUE! Maybe I was not listening to Steve's "Christmas bone" posts. It sure seemed out of the blue to me.
  3. Very dusty! Looks like my living room...or vice versa/
  4. Steadily climbing Mount Aris! Ok, just the foothills! Ok, I brought oxygen!
  5. Yes, it is okay for this battle. Enjoy the read. It is best to take it one battle at a time for the green light to read AAR's. Maybe another battle will have survivors and fog of war is best preserved by waiting 1 more battle afterwards to read the opponents AARs. But this one is not one of those battles. All is well.
  6. Here is the Hungarian Army tunic. I changed the "Gott Aint Mitt Uns" belt buckle to "MH" Hungarian Army belt buckle. I deleted the infantry assault badge and gave it some Hungarian badge. I need to get rid of the waffenfarbe on the epaulets. I need to fix the buttons when I did the recolor. I need to take a stab at reshaping the pocket flaps...(mjkerner, help me!!!) [/uR Here is the leather gerkin
  7. They are PBEM soldiers. Some folks express an interest but might not answer when we call muster. And nobody volunteered to be the CO. Now I got you. Right? I think it will all work out perfect. Nobody really wants to fight every battle or has the time. So, each guy can get a couple battles each. This can stay on your back burner til you get back from vacation in May. I will have a "battle booklet" ready to explain the parts of the operation and get the ball rolling.
  8. OK Ian! We are flexible and you can join in later on when available. Thank you for your interest and participation.
  9. New Start Date: 07 May 2015. VE Day. We're going to slide the start to the right as I have found a Canadian CO but he is not available until early May. ChappyCanuck is a retired Canadian Army officer and is probably bringing a buddy with him..a retired Canadian Army tank officer! I think it is well worth the wait and I will expand the turns to 4 or 5 which gives everybody an extra battle probably... If you are on the roster and are still interested and ok with the delay, just check in here and say hello. It is gonna be a great time I promise!
  10. Maps in progress from a 1944 DMS map. CM OOB's starting to be written. I am hoping to have a small role for my [WIP] Hungarian mod. Otherwise it will be strictly Germans vs Soviets. Once again, this is to be October 1944. No snow was on the ground. CMRT date range already goes to 30September1944 and offers Eastern Europe for building styles. I think this will be very well portrayed. Even fudging the date to pretend to be out at 23 October 1944. We'll use 23 September...
  11. ChappyCanuck and mjkerner's battle will soon be officially over and I will do a quick processing of the results and roll them into the OOB headcounts. We are in turn 1 and moving to start the bottom of the inning so to speak. So it is....
  12. "I saw the fat lady and she was warming up her voice....just before a tank round ripped off her chubby, double-chinned head...."
  13. It is only turn 1, top of the inning. Lots of great action ahead and with some troops that will jump on the tank and piss down the hatch if you tell them to!
  14. I would have a vertical full map height AI trigger "tripwire" way over on the east to cause the 2 platoons (all AI groups) to maybe go off hide. Then maybe a timer or maybe another trigger to start all AI groups moving eastward in the center. Then 2 more AI enemy tripwires (1 to cover the northern option and 1 to cover the southern option). parallel to the first but each has half the map. Northern half line gets tripped and we hook say A1 counterclockwise up to meet the north option. A1 trips a friendly AI trigger which tells A4,A6,to also swing up to meet that northern option in his left flank. Maybe one final AI tripwire if the enemy made it that deep to the west would tell A8and A10 to also cut north to hit the enemy. The other odd numbered groups would not be moving. Select their static posits to support the moving group. In the southern option A2 is triggered to swing clockwise down to meet the southern option and trips a friendly AI trigger to tell A3,A5, to also swing down to the south and hit that southern attack in his right flank. Maybe one final AI tripwire if the enemy made it that deep to the west would tell A7and A9 to also cut south to hit the enemy. The other even numbered groups would not be moving. Select their static posits to support the moving group. But it is just "Otto Maddox" the AI soldier....
  15. mjkerner had a problem just a few weeks ago with JTS PzC Market-Garden '44 and e-mailed for assistance and John Tiller himself responded right away. Steve from BFC has also handled a weekend issue I had. I'd say both companies are wargamers friends. Mark and I kinda wish they'd team together to make a cool CMPzC interlink.
  16. Hi Mike, Very nice books and I liked the website. Took a few years off since you were last there in 2008? Let me guess. Kids are now all grown up and you have more free time? Maybe divorced too? :C Phil
  17. You are correct. A then B then C, no B1 or B2 split offs. How big a battle (Map and formation size)? <George_ MC will probably be along shortly to scold you away from the pitfalls of micromanaging the AI! > I will raise the wrath of Father George when on a very small scenario I actually enjoy some attempt to apply fine control when a scout team or breach team is an entire AI group for example. PM me if this is your case and we can share some techniques. But on the giant maps with bigger AI groups...better to follow the path of righteousness! "AI-mennnn brother"
  18. How does the CM program determine which mdr skeleton files to use for 3D display and also how does it then select the BMP skins to wrap around the skeleton? <Grabs laser pointer and tries to write on white board...> Must be out of ink? In the code when you purchase a unit type it must have some type of flag to designate the mdr files to utilize for that type unit. Then within that purchase you MAY also select a different appearance. If available, this option can call up a different mdr from the default mdr as with greatcoats or shorts. But other times this branches off at the bmp level with a modtag such as [armored engineer] or [101st]. Sometimes they have written it in the BMP file name as with Italians "bersa". I am not sure why they do it differently. Maybe 2 different people were involved or it was an experiment and then they left it as is. Some appearance differences are time/location modtagged [holland] and [mainland] To have a mod appear on the screen with no "goofy stuff" (trademarked term! ) takes some testing and then still you might have an instance where some unit has a very odd greatcoat that looks like something from "The Thing". One particularly fun and challenging modding project was getting my vision of CMFI GL bulge 44 Fallschirmjager Divisions. I think I pulled it off. Now, most of this is not your straight out of the gate purchase a company only force. You might have to purchase an FJ Company and then sprinkle in Luftwaffe Infantry Specialized Teams under the platoons. It got me the FJ helmets and smocks on some guys and the "supply issues" meant some guys had the normal coal skuttle helmet and Luftwaffe greatcoats. As per period photographs. Now I am trying the same thing with Hungarians over in CMRT. Which reminds me of the implications of selecting "mixed camo" in the appearance dropdown menu for German troops. You get some guys in M43 tunics and some in smocks. 2 different mdr's. So I can rename one as greatcoat from CMFI and mod the tunic bmp's to look Hungarian.
  19. This is the current roster, subject to change based on feedback. I need a CO on each side to step forward or be pushed forward by the men behind him! [/u We will start off nice and easy. A "battle booklet" will be distributed to show the background to the Operation, organizational structure, OOB, key rules you need to know as a foot soldier, the location of the men's room, nearby restaurants and bars.... We can review previous Operations and have a kick off party at my house.

  21. My partners have reviewed my PzC scenario and seem to think it is worthy. we are starting to make maps and will aim for a May start for this operation. 5 turns planned. Right now it is umpire versus axis. If we determine we have suitable players and a CO and XO for each side, we may go full blown as axis versus allies.
  22. I made some progress yesterday but forgot my screenshot! I am slowly chipping away at this. I have a few leather jerkins over a Hungarian tunic. Tweaking the proper field brown color. Once I nail it I can go get rid of the greatcoats that are too greenish. I cleaned up some black splotches on the helmet. I want to do a Hungarian cap. I am playing a CMRT battle as Germans and accidentally left the mod "on" and it is motivating to see it in action. Anybody want to do any parts of this mod or think of something, PM me! I want to also do a tanker uniform. One book showed a blue coveralls! Any WW2 Hungarian uniform experts out there?
