  1. Memories of Rob Roy with Tim Roth (rapier) defeating the Scots champion armed with a claymore.
  2. I really don't care very much about the quality of the graphics. I started gaming when they were all just text and you had to imagine everything. I would always opt for more complexity in the AI and mechanics over prettier images.
  3. Damn, wish i had known. I just gave my last $10,000,000 to Farmville.
  4. This has been a real eye-opener for me. I realize I have been far to impatient in my games, trying to get *there* as fast as I can. Your methodical approach is so much more appropriate, I am trying to convince myself that slow is the way to go and still satisfy my bloodlust!
  5. Historically countries were ranked by the number of Golds then, if tied, in Silver and then Bronze. I notice the American media has switched to total medals (regardless of rank0, probably because this puts the US higher in the rankings.
  6. Wow! I love the one "Commander's hatch was hit by the 203 mm shell". That's got to hurt.
  7. The title begs the question. It assumes that one side was the 'Good Guys'. I think it is fairly clear that the answer really is: neither.
  8. The film reminded of the James Bond films, where each weapon and gadget gets used once.
  9. Can't tell. Need to know the nostril diameter.
  10. Since I play a lot of Skyrim, shadows would make me think "Dragon". Hmmm, memo to development team......
  11. Dora or Gustav railroad cannon. Of course, given their rate of fire you would get just one shot per scenario. Oh, and the impact would be at such a distance that it would appear in the next scenario you play!
  12. The damage that splinters can cause was well known in the Napoleonic-era navies. Of course the term splinter is being stretched when it is a two foot lomg piece of jagged oak.
  13. I have long held the belief that time is speeding up. This is why vacations as a child lasted forever, but just whistle by when you are an adult. I also believe that gravity is increasing, which explains why we start to sag as we get old.
  14. Maybe I should start another countdown sequence? Too exhausted after posting five messages in a row. Sinks back onto couch with single malt in hand and watches Jaques Pepin cook quail.
  15. Not wishing to tell them what do (promptly does so). Would it be possible to have a general map and associated AI plan, but randomly alter elements within the scenario? hills might get bigger, woods thin out etc. This might offer greater variety from the existing QBs.
  16. Just as well. Us septuagenarians get pretty ornery dagnabit. Remember, I was born during the battle of Kursk (well not actually there, but at the same time), so I have a stake in this.
  17. I would assume everyone who is reading this forum is on the preorder list.
  18. Real senior moment (day) for me! I am thinking 'why is everyone so big on the Hetzer, it never struck me as that good'. Finally look it up: I have been seeing a Marder in my mind all day! Calls for another celebratory glass of Glenfarclas 105.
