  2. That would be very useful, I agree. Being able to do things like that would be very helpful to people using CM to run operations. I think doing work like that to help the community is valuable even if it feels like a feature out of water for the game itself. I use the same two pw over and over one for red and one for blue. My reasoning is that with something there, as a password, I will not accidentally open my opponent's file. Mind you now that we use turn management programs that is pretty rare these days. LOL indeed.
  3. Yes, you are out of luck, sadly. It would be really nice one day but so far there has been no indication of any interest from BFC. A couple of us have turn management programs to help with PBEM but we cannot start the game and have it load a turn even.
  4. I would personally prefer a custom point setting feature for QBs. Then there would be no need for an additional force adjustment control.
  5. Well just because a scenario is battalion sized does not mean it cannot be part of a division attack. But that is not what you are asking. Honestly I think your desire would be better served with a campaign. One of the posters here @sfhand created a multi battalion battle over a large map. We learned two things. One, the limits are very much based on the machine capabilities (a top end machine will stay playble with more forces than a less capable one). Two, there was a point where orders started being ignored. We hit it with something like six batalions on the map. It was reported as a bug and so will likely get looked at. The issue was more about number of orders than forces but obviously more forces means more orders. Oh bonus point with that many units giving orders can be very tedious. Uber huge battles will have very few people interested.
  6. The mod tools are only available for the PC but they are there for CMRT. So, if this is a PC then something is off with your install.
  7. Sure, my thoughts were triggered by @Juju's comment about them not working with existing maps. In my opinion that is a classic use for tags. Without tags I would not dl it otherwise my existing maps will be messed up. But with tags I would so that existing maps still work and maps can be made that do work with the mod. Just one guys opinion.
  8. oh I'm sure you did. My recommendation is to think about changes and enhancements that could be made to the existing frame work rather than a whole sale recreation. Mind you that is just my impression of the plan based on how BFC works rather than some inside track.
  9. I am no campaign expert but I thought this was already possible. yes, those would be good. The big one for me is the ability to play PBEM. If they just added that I would jump for joy and be happy
  10. I have found probe QBs work quite well. The defense has a reasonable chance as does the attacker.
  11. Hey, @hobo now is the time to suggest changes and discuss how you / we would like to see the campaign system evolve. My recommendation is to discuss what features andenhancements would be good to add to the existing system.
  12. No both the mod designer needs to tag the mod and then the mod will not effect any existing maps and new maps could use the mod by adding the tag.
  13. Can I make a suggestion? How about tagging these mods so that those that want to create maps with curbs can do so without having existing maps look wonky.

  15. Oh I disagree. Child soldiers is very distasteful to me. I would not want to see it in game. Having said that the soldiers faces could be altered to show a mix of younger looks and older looks to represent them just no 10 year olds please. oh well then no worries then. They can already represent a wide range of training and motivation.

  17. Yes, I think he should do it. I double dare him to start his own web site with his "wisdom" about Combat Mission. Charge whatever he wants and stop posting here so everyone has to pay for his quality content. :D
  18. Sigh, I don't know what motivates some people. As far as I can tell he seems to enjoy just causing a stir. If we all ignored him then he could rant and rave and make unfounded statements all day long and he would get no reaction. Surely that would encourage him to leave.
  19. Actually if you have problems downloading contact the help desk because they have a way of getting the install to you by an alternate way. If your keys don't work I would also recommen contacting the help desk.
  20. Yes, the workaround for the side switching bug us to quit the messed up turn and go to start a new quick battle. Change the attacker and defender in the UI to the opposite of what you see and progress through the UI to start the qb. You don't need to save any thing. Now reload the turn that was giving you trouble. That should fix it.
