  1. It should. I had no trouble dropping 120 rounds on a very specific target in the training mission. I did not try a smoke mission though. Sometimes artillery missions get off track and never get on track but usually it is due to poor visibility for the caller not seeing the spotting rounds. Can you try something similar or nearly the same a couple more times and see if you get the same result?

  3. It is a reported bug - that I think was fixed. But I don't know when... Just checked it is listed as fixed in the v4 engine upgrade so for CMBN that would be version 4.00
  4. Try this: do everything the same as you already have but switch the force selection away from computer to human for both sides - go ahead and use the suggest button to get a force quickly just for testing. Disregard if you are not using automatic force selection.
  5. My son and I were at the ceremony today. In front of us are the RMC cadets and in front of them are the veterans as the wreaths are being layed. We are grateful.

  8. It is. My son and are planning a trip to downtown. The ceremony at the national cenotaph is always a big production but this year will be a special one.
  9. LOL These ideas do sound fun. I am not 100% sure how many times watching the AI fight it out would really be fun but having AI controled forces fighting alongside you would be awesome.
  10. Yeah, difficult. I think the closest we are going to get in CM is the civilian density setting in CMSF which controls how hard it is to spot unconventional enemy forces.
  11. I get what you are saying and you are certainly not wrong. However the issues go back further than that. The exporting of Wahhabism and variations started long before that and arguably was in part why the Soviets got involved in the first place.

  13. Yes, this!!! All of what @Oliver_88 said but I'll add two things: 1) if you use the target command method then the worst thing that can happen is your vehicle moves to the top of the ridge. Which might not be good but its way better than driving out in the open towards enemy lines with no support. 2) to prevent the worst case in #1 make sure the location where the hull down command starts has no LOS to the location. The Hull Down command works best if the vehicle has no LOS to the area of interest at the beginning and a clear blue LOS line at the end.
  14. No that only works for hot seat play. It does not work for PBEM the game just does not support it. I don't know about you but I only play hot seat when my but is the only one in the seat - so I can test stuff.
  15. Cleary @MOS:96B2P and I were doing the same thing. I setup a situation where many PzIVs were to the front and several soliders were to the rear and shot this. Frame rate is a bit off but hey first animated gif from in game video...
  16. You've been on the forums for a few month's and you have lost track of my ad hominem attacks? Sigh, I don't get it but OK. My point was simple - in order to not respond to trolling comments I recommend people ignore the people they find troublesome. That way instead of arguing about how annoying person X is we can talk about the game. I will follow my own advice.....
  17. It is very cool. Suggestion - to get open hatches bail the crew. I think that will trigger the same hatches as a KO'ed vehicle. If not then perhaps knocking one out with smallish calibre AP might do the trick.
  18. Yeah, you are theoretically possibly correct. If this were the first or third time he made such a comment but it starts to feel a lot more unreasonable when its over and over and over. And is he really correct? Cause the real issue that people have is with the assertion that BFC wasted their time (which feels like it includes scenario designers) creating vehicles that aren't used. There are nearly 400 scenarios in CMBN I have a feeling that the number of unused vehicles is a lot less than implied. But even if he is right the arrogance that creating these vehicles is a waste is difficult to swallow since he is assuming that only scenarios of the various kinds he likes is all that counts. Lots of people love QB and use all kinds of interesting vehicles in that pursuit. Hardly a waste of anyone's time. No, he didn't point out that he would like to see more use of the assets. He said they were a waste of time. And yeah I know he says stuff like he admires everyone - but it sounds more like the drunk annoying uncle that says he loves his nephews but belittles them constantly for the smallest stuff. So, @Mattis please offer suggestions and pitch in when designers want feed back but please do not follow people like @Erwin's example. Set the bar higher for yourself - way higher.
  19. He seems to be too happy with #1 and #3 so why bother with #2. I recommend don't feed his desires and place him on your ignore list.

  21. Not sure about those numbers but yeah it takes a lot of work. My big issue is that campaigns are not playable H2H via PBEM. Since that is how I play this game I, sadly, have little interest in campaigns. Not that I am a very prolific scenario generator but if I could play campaigns va PBEM I would shift my effort to creating campaigns. I honestly don't know how possible or likely some kind of auto generated campaign might be. One thing you can do is join in on some of the campaigns going on at TFGM. They tend to take a long time and a few have died slow and quiet but it is a possible alternative way to get your fix of playing a battle that matters more then just in isolation.
  22. No the Platoon HQ does not have C2 to the battalion HQ - the Company HQ does. That control is showing the chain of C2. Re artillery: abstraction as @MOS:96B2P said (this is for game play reasons), re radio: no it does *not* imply that.
  23. Yes, it does effect them. If they have too much they can even get to a point the they cannot move fast and if you add more rhey will no longer be able to move quick. They tire more quickly. Sime feel the effects are not strong enough but it is there.
  24. There is no need to remove scenarios for an upgrade. There is also not really a need to remove mods. Only some mods effect the game.
