  1. And contrary to what some people say that is totally fine. So true. And I actually don't disagree with what you said. I would love to see increased communications. Really I would. Here's the thing: more communication is not how Steve has operated these past 20 years. I don't see him changing that. So, providing exemplars of what people want and saying "please be more like ABC" is not likely to change anything. No problem with people citing examples of what they want to see, mind you. Cool. I do have a problem - but will not longer be commenting on - people acting all entitled and pissy about thing A or B that they demand. BTW I am *not* saying you are doing that - you clearly are not. But you have to admit that has been happening in this thread.
  2. Quoting your self - cool When you compare the difference between CMBN and CMBS there is clearly a large difference. The modern tanks have a much faster turret traverse and targeting cycle. This is clearly modelled in the game.
  3. A couple of thoughts - no judgment - just my thoughts. I don't want anyone taking my posts on this personally. That would be correct. First you are assuming that the disgruntled posts have been noticed. I can assure you testers do not spend time updating Steve on what we are all talking about here. Also don't forget that the number of customers that are here reading and posting is only as small sub set of the total customer base. c) stick to your policy of not spending time posting a response to everyone that complains and instead focus on getting valuable work done I would pick c) too because it has been repeatedly demonstrated that a) does not really stop the arguing that happens in b)
  4. That's your opinion, but unfortunately it's not correct. It kinda seem like @sfhand has it right. I don't think his point is an opinion - it is demonstrable fact and I think he is correct.
  5. Units that are assigned area targets do react to other threats. The Tac AI is actually pretty good about ignoring area targeting orders when spotted threats appear.
  6. @Wicky that looks like a QB screen. @dominick, where in the manual does it say points are displayed in the scenario editor? As far as I know the points are not available in the scenario editor.
  7. I have one more thing to add: plan ahead. On defense as you are settling up think about how each team will make it to thier fall back position. On the attack the route you men took to get there can usually be used to get out but pay attention in case.
  8. Don't worry about it the support guys are there for you just for this kind of thing. Go ahead push that blue button...
  9. No, no its all good. The clock is drawn on by the application over top of the grey oval. The mod cannot draw the clock only provide a place for the time text to be painted over.
  10. Yeah I lost it once too and it took forever to find it again because I totally forgot it was part of a bigger UI mod.
  11. +1, and a right proper compass to begin with! Indeed since IRL your commanders would be standing there with the wind on their faces and know what would happen to their smoke mission... On the subject of compass there is a mod that I have to have when I play - it changes the compass that is not at all a compass into an eyeball with an arrow. At least that way the icon actually represents what it is instead of hurting my compass using brain The mod is from Marco: http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=1932 I don't like the other parts of the mod but that eyeball direction replacement is something that I always install after testing is done. Check out to the right of centre in the image on the mod page.
  12. Yeah changing your name and profile picture does open things up for some goofy interactions. I get that people make mistakes / regret their names - I did and changed mine (long long ago). I know some people like to change their avatars too but I prefer people not do that frequently. I like to be able to recognize people. Slim changing his name and not his avatar allowed me to keep the connection in my mind - thanks. Oh and I am probably the one that had the voting system turned back on. After a recent forum upgrade I asked Steve if there was an option to only allow up voting. Since the real problem we had was the down voting I figured that could work. Seems like he agreed. I think it has been good. Sure I'll admit that some people get up votes for being clever and witty - which I fail at regularly I still like to be able to signal my appreciation when someone is helpful.
  13. ?? there is only so much space in a release. More to come and all that... Didn't Steve even hint that the plan for the BS module would include Marines? It has been a while so I could be wrong.
  14. Pretty much as simple as that. If any one wants to create some scenarios that take place in those areas between the important roads etc. I am sure there would be takers.
  15. +1 a good way to use them. I usually aim or even further back if possible.
  16. Good summary of the last big investigation. I think this is a good summary too.
  17. That is quite a list of videos. Sounds like it warrant's its own thread instead of being in the screen shot thread
  18. ^^^^ yep what @Vanir Ausf B said. The QB system strips out any forces that are present in favour of forces selected by the QB system. The only way to create a QB like experience with larger forces is to follow the instructions outlined in the PDF that is linked in the thread I posted earlier.
  19. Oh that's not something I heard him say or anything - just an educated guess.
  20. Yep. But to avoid all the threads titled "WTF: my tank is firing HE at the enemy tanks, the game is totally unplayable" instead the tanks all have Schrödinger rounds that automatically resolve to the right type during the aiming process.
