  1. Well, there are these online repositories that have been created, you see... Just for fun this is a great read: https://what-if.xkcd.com/31/ Note I am not saying that this means the mailing of a HD is the solution for this problem but it is a fun thought experiment.
  2. Check out this thread some people found happiness from its advice: Fingers crossed that it helps you.
  3. I have a shotgun and he has heard all about my shooting skills. So far the rumors have been enough to keep him in line. And my mustache scares him so no need to jump to straight to the guns. LOL from @Heirloom_Tomato's comments and his handle I figured he was a farmer and therefore a firearm would be available. As a Canadian he is probably just trying to be more subtle . You know so he can preserve the vale of politeness.
  4. That would be fun - I agree. Yuck and Yuck But that's just my opinion.
  5. I am unaware of CMBN crashing issues. Are these reproducible? Do you have saved games? Things that are unknown cannot be fixed - unless you believe in magic.
  6. LOL what ever gets the jog done. I was surprised with the no attempt to hid their identity - yikes. Now that's is solid advice
  7. Here are my thought's from my match up with @slysniper. It was a different experience not having known objectives. I decided that I needed to press for a crossing and attempt to deny others. So, I decided to go for the bridge and the hill while keeping LOF on the ford. The German ACs only had 20mm and the HT based 75mm and 37mm, while nice to have, are very fragile. The briefing warns of the possibility of enemy armour. Facing off against even one Sherman tank with only HT mounted guns is a scary proposition. So, I proceeded with caution at the start. Things went OK at the beginning I took up positions that had LOF on the ford and parts of the area around the bridge. I met resistance on my way to the hill (not a surprise) so I spent time just pining them down. I started taking casulties in my platoon working its way to the farm near the bridge and I should have pulled back. The enemy's mortars were very deadly and I thought I knew were they were and were peppering them but it turns out there was at least one unmolested that did a lot of damage. Then the M8s showed themselves after I scored some victories vs the US HTs the M8s made up for it eventually by picking apart my HT based SP guns. In the end I fought longer than would have been reasonable IRL but typical for the game. And I lost. I thought I had the end screens on hand but I don't. I'll have to post them later.
  8. One of the issues with answering that is the rules vary from place to place. Last time I checked the fraud coverage for actual Credit cards was better than for Debit cards so I only use credit cards for online purchases even with Pay Pal.
  9. Yeah I have no idea why people are having trouble with drones. I have a game going on right now with a Raven that has several infantry units fully IDed and it certainly can and has been following moving vehicles. Well at least as long as they are still operational I use the widest area observation. Sorry I am not trying to look through the windows of some building, I am interested in finding out where the bad guys are ahead of my troops. That's the best way to do this. If the drone gets a ? I'm happy and I try to find and KO whatever it is from the ground. If the drone finds and IDs something then I try to kill it with air or artillery. If i have time and rounds available then I go after ? from the drones as well. Adjust observation mission. Rinse the blood off and repeat Works a treat for the Russians too BTW.
  10. Indeed. What I do is give a 180 ish cover arch centred where I want them facing. Then in a future turn change it into a 360.
  11. The Few Good Men would be a good starting point: http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/#combat-mission-section.206 I'm not signed up there so can't speak with any knowledge but @IanL can probably give you an idea of how easy it is to hook up with an opponent. Yep pretty damn easy. Also theBlitz.org has a lot of opportunities to play. I've been on the blitz for longer and find lots of games there frequently via the Scenario of the Month that I help run. Over at TFGM I typically engage in tournaments and campaigns - which are awesome - but there is plenty of just regular opponent finding going on there too. Also check out the "New to Multiplayer" section of the FAQ:
  12. Yes, and we really appreciate it. @sburke and I are coordinating to get things logged... Mine too. Yeah, we only submit bugs that are clear and have evidence that backs them up. Well we try. Even then there is some churn and back and froth because we thought we wrote clearly and the devs have questions. None of us want BFC staff spending time looking at a bug and not being sure if it is worth them spending time figuring out what is really a problem and what is not. So, we have to ask a bunch of clarifying questions (like the gun scaling and gun shield questions) or basically reject without further references (like the number of XYZ weapon that should be available). What I cannot do is log a bug that is not directly actionable by BFC staff. It is simply not a good use of their time and slows down development and bug fixing. What I don't want to do is just ignore stuff that is being reported by players. Clearly there is valuable info coming in and you have spotted a bunch of things I never did - well done! So that means if we don't see a clear path to handing it off to BFC staff I'll try to ask clarifying questions or just say yeah they will need more info. In the end I don't have hours and hours to investigate everything either. Me personally I am just not going to be wading into figuring out weapon system counts or TO&E issues. I'm just not experienced enough nor do I have that kind of time. Given that I know the people on BFC staff and the volunteers that *do* spend time researching TO&E any bugs logged would need references and a logical reasoning behind it. I know you'd like an accounting of the reference material they used and that's a fair thing to ask but I don't know it and I have never seen it so I cannot share it. Any sharing of that would have to come from Steve or another volunteer tester. Let's keep your good reports coming and you can help us get this all logged and eventually fixed. Although I should set some expectations here too - it is not going to be fixed fast. We all want all this stuff fixed but we have to live with the realities of staffing and priorities that we don't get to control. Thanks for your help. We really appreciate it. Really we do
  13. Thanks @RockinHarry. Is there a chance @hank24 that you have a mod that is misbehaving?
  14. Ok let's nip this one in the bud. A British Warrior equipped Armoured Infantry Battalion is established for 6 x 9mm Pistols. Looking at the composition of the Bn HQ, which has 10 x individuals including the Commanding Officer, who you might expect to carry a pistol, there are 9 x L85A2 and no pistols established As the Chaplain/Padre is one of those 10 and does not bear arms, you can see that everyone in that group carries a rifle. Likewise there are no pistols established in any of the rifle companies. I should have been clearer. I was *not* commenting on the pistols part of the previous post. I was referring to officers taking rifles when they were officially assigned an SMG. Until about 1988 the battle rifle used by Canadian infantry was the FN C1. It was a large 7.62 semi automatic and officers were officially assigned a much smaller SMG - the C1 SMG which was basically a Sterling. They didn't like having the different weapon even if it was smaller. It was just to different and they would stand out because of it. Or perhaps some of them just liked the FN a lot.
  15. For sure - great game... No strategy man this is all tactics.
  16. Oh man I'm not an expert at all. The opening position is the game has things correct. We find stuff that shows otherwise and pass it on in a bug report. Just asking the question. There is no way we want the developers spending time verifying something on a whim. That's it pictures from a few sources showing the gun is what's needed.
  17. You're wicked Ian I think I have some old messages from you though ... LOL now I'm worried
  18. That gun shield looks like it might be adjustable - have to look at some more pictures is that possible?
  19. Humm. Where is the sun in this picture though? If its high enough that could account for it.
  20. So, when it comes to TO&E and armaments there are possible bugs, that certainly is possible. I have to let you guys know that "doubts about it" are not going to cut it as a bug report. BFC has people that read the division equipment lists for such and such a date and such and such a place and figure out if it was possible to equip the battalions with the official armaments. Combining that with the official org charts and official complements and go from there to create what you see in game. I can tell you now hours upon hours are spent on that. So, if you have equipment lists that seem to snow N number of weapon XYZ could not possibly be in a battalion of this type by all means feel free to share. Site your sources and build the case...
  21. The officers don't get rifles standard seems to be very common policy and officers getting them anyway seems pretty common too. My dad did the same in the 60s and 70s for the exact same reason.
