  1. I took a look at that thread, MengJiao. Jesus, I hate the internet sometimes. A lot of jerks and morons (on both sides) spouting off.
  2. Boy, I agree with that, slysniper. Infantry too; in my experince, tanks often find it difficult to range in on them in wheatfields. Wheatfields generally are your friend.
  3. That's coming. See post #5. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=104962
  4. Ha, good one! "You know, back when he made funny movies."
  5. Just having you on, old man. I thoroughly enjoy your posts. In a short time, you have definitely become one of the enjoyable characters around here!
  6. John, thanks for the link. 39 years ago, when I was 20, I first picked up Carrel' Hitler Moves East. As a kid, although fascinated by WWII, I stuck to ETO, MED, and PTO only, and never read a thing about it. What I knew about the EF was basically from Walter Kronkite narrating "The Twentieth Century". As I started doing board games I finally started to get interested in what exactly all those references to the Eastern Front in Hogan's Hereos really meant:), so I found Hitler Moves East in a paperback rack at a drugstore. I was hooked by that book, even though he has been accused of playing fast and loose with the facts. I'm still trying to figure out what US or Brit battalion of paras/rangers/infantry he claimed a company of Fallschirmjaegers (6 th Regt..--it's been about 20 years since i last read his They're Coming) captured in toto shortly after June 6???? My HME paperback fell apart long ago, but I just got the hard cover reprint about amonth ago. I look forward to re- discovering it for all the reason you said. I last read Sajer also about 20 years ago, but still have it on the shelf. I plan to re- visit that one soon, too. Erwin, IIRC, Sajer was in the Grossduetchland Division, not the SS.
  7. LOL, John, still at it? I see you are now trying to obfuscate that dirty little secret. Must be a guilty conscience, like me and my closet smoking habit! Wife: What are you doing out in the garage, Dear? Me: Nothing, just looking for a philips screwdriver.
  8. Double-plus Good, Mord, with another + 1000 for #5 and #7!
  9. No, I was thinking packs, musette bags and all, too, since they did change the models. Not saying my thinking was correct. ;-)
  10. Actually, Mord, I assumed that one thing would be the ability to mix and match other equipment, just like helmets andunis.
  11. This is looking good, Holdit. I'm in need of more German attack scenarios, and the map sounds interesting. Thanks!
  12. Yes, I plan on bellying up to the bar alot!
  13. The more difficult use is on defense. You may know their expected avenues of attack, but timing is everything. You hopefully can still adjust as needed, but of course with more delay. And if it does fall early, you can rest easy that that area won't be crossed by your opponent for a while, so you at least buy some time. And TRP's help if you have them because the barrage falls quicker. But still, very tricky to time things right. I hate to waste it.
  14. I call BS; you younger, single guys are getting it all the time. Now get off my lawn!
  15. How can you say that? I didn't think you were married.
  16. I love this! Reminds me of buying ASL packsnew counters, new maps, new scenarios. I'm in!
  17. LOL, I sure am, an I sure did! I wonder how SDP feels, myself, but I think a lot of what he did would still be workable in CMFI. Well, if they haven't changed the building and terrain tile bmp/mapping. And, if the new importing maps function will allow you to take a screen shot of either a map in the editor or an in-game one, then converting SDP's very excellent maps should be relatively easy. Did I mention his maps are excellent?
  18. You got that right. I did a Herman Goring Division uniform mod to use with spd's Italian Campaign mod. I used RL uniforms in museums and reenactor uniform pics for reference; the tropical uniforms were pretty orange-ish, and so mine have a similar cast. Looking at the CMFI pics, BFC's HG Division uniforms are much, much better looking. Much more natural, IMHO.
  19. God, that must have been tedious! I tried to a less naked version of that when trying to make decent looking vineyards for spd's Italian mod. But see, I waited, and good things came!
